The service tech that came to our house, John, was very courteous, very knowledgeable and detected several issues that he explained in detail and it was easy to concur with his assessments. He found a big clog in a very old pipe, which had broken as he was inspecting it. This clog had been giving us problem and was preventing the air from turning on. He ran to home depot, bought a replacement part and installed it, at no additional charge! He also vacuumed the heating unit and installed a new latch to hold the filter in place. He took the time to explain about the need to ensure the filter is secure so dirt and dust does not work its way into the main unit (Which would be very bad!). He examined the outside air conditioner and we scheduled another appointment in 6 months for a nice general check up. The outside unit may have a leak, which we were previously aware of, but he provided us additional details and let us know what our future options may be. We decided in 6 months, when they return for the semi-annual service we signed up for, that we could see how everything is looking. Very happy with the experience with Magnolia!

I couldn't even get a quote from them. They charge $99 just for a quote! Ridiculous... Despite their excellent reviews, we aren't going to pay that much just for a quote. That's crazy. None of the other companies we called charge to give a quote.

Please know that when our technician comes to your home they perform a thorough inspection of the project. Most of the time finding issues other companies missed. They will also take the time to ask key questions to ensure they have a complete understanding of the project and our customer's wants and needs. This insures what you want done, is done right the first time. Where some companies elect to come to you for free. We find you get what you pay for. In most cases they provide a proposal that is ambiguous at best. Ending up with costly change orders once the project starts. With us providing the value of running a service truck to your home; not to mention the time of a HVAC technician to professionally evaluate a project for your largest investment, (your home)! We feel it is safely worth $99.00 Wouldn't you agree? Good Luck"

The gentleman who came out to look at my home and explain what was involved in central heat & air was very knowledgeable and thorough. The company was responsive to my request for an estimate. My objection is that they did not give me a price.When we were done looking over the house and reviewing various creative options, he explained that once all my bids were in, my next step would be to call them and get a price from them which would be valid for that time only. I chose to go with a company whose bid I could mull over a little longer.

That was fine. They were good. I think it was before summer or whatnot. I just wanted to make sure that everything was in working order because I had my AC go out a couple of times, but they were easy fixes, but I just wanted to have a preliminary check on it before we got into summer. There was an additional price for the part that they needed. When they got out here they were efficient and fixed it. I know he had to kind of jury-rig part of it but it wasn't something that uncommon I guess this time, because of the type of system that I have. But he made it work. He figured out how to install certain parts so it would work, and it still does. I don't think I have any improvements.

Magnolia Services company claimed the Water heater ad on Angie's List was incorrect and should have been removed. Magnolia Services suggested I seek refund from Angie's List for the Water heater flush/inspection service

We have used these folks for many years, and one of their technician, John, has always been excellent. However, not sure if they have changed ownership or operations management, but after giving these folks a top score before, I am now brininging the score to an F. We specifically requested John for our bi-annual tune up and we scheduled our call about a week in advance for today between 11:30am - 2pm. So I took time off work to be here during this time, but when I did not see anyone coming (this is after they confirmed they were coming by email/text/angies list) - I called the office to check status. At that time, they informed me that not only were they late but that they had moved our request to another technician - without any consideration for our very specific request for the same technician that has been servicing us for many years. When I shared our frustration with them, they told me that they would have to reschedule the appointment for another day? Seriously? Seriously? Unacceptable, disappointing and specially from a repeat customer who had rated them very high, and recommended to our neighbors.

My air conditioner broke on the hottest day of the year (113). I went on Angie's list and saw they were highly rated so I gave them a call. It was late in the day when I called, but they were able to come out the next day. The guy was able to get the AC working but said I probably needed a new system. This didn't come as a shock to me....it was getting old. I had gotten estimates before, so I had a dollar figure in my head for what a new system would cost. I called their office and scheduled an estimate. The young man who came out took his time and looked at everything. He explained what he was doing and why. When showing me my options, he didn't try to sell me the most expensive model, but the one that best suited my needs. It wound up being $3000 less then previous estimates I had been given. When it came to installation, their team arrived on time, put coverings down to protect my floors (HVAC is in the attic) and even brought a portable AC unit so I would be comfortable....it was about 110 that day. They thought it would probably take a day and a half, but they got it all done in one day. My AC is working great now. I didn't know how poorly my old unit was working until the new one was installed. I'll have to say that I have been impressed with this company from start to finish. Everyone from the lady who answers the phone, to the estimator, to the installers has been punctual, pleasant and informative. They send e-mails to confirm appointments, usually with a picture of who is coming. Also, the amount I paid for the first repair was deducted from the bill for installation. They are going to be my new go-to people for all heating and cooling from now on.

Most unprofessional people on the phone I have ever dealt with. I simply wanted some ballpark numbers on a complete HVAC system and the girl on the other end was very assuming, short, and extremely condescending. Not going to get too much business that way!! I will never refer anyone here, infact I will staunchly warn people of them!!!

I love this company! Eric was great. He met with me to go over pricing and financing and listened to my concerns. He waited until I was ready to have the job done, no pressure. They were prompt in responding to calls, called to make sure things were ok, and cleaned up each day they were here. They had a small problem when blowing in the insulation, but they cleaned it all up and even came back out to pick up more insulation that was in the rocks of my front yard and in my neighbors pool. They care about you as a customer and are honest. I can't say enough good things about this company and my experience with them.

The service went well. The tech was personable and friendly. He went about his business in a very professional manner. But other things that happened combined to annoy me with this company that had nothing to do with the service being performed. My first attempt to make an appointment was not input into the appointment system and I was left waiting for a service that was never to happen. So, I called to find out what happened and ended up making another appointment. This time the tech was on another job and couldn't leave because the clients a/c wasn't working and the client was an elderly person. He apologized and offered to still come by but a bit later than planned. I agreed to this but it turned out to be much later than planned so I ended up canceling the attempt to come by because it was so late in the day. The third attempt at an appointment was successful and the service was performed. I was happy. But when I went to pay for the service I presented a coupon from their website for a discount on "service". But the tech couldn't take the coupon because he said that this was not a service...it was a "maintenance". A service, he explained, is basically where a repair was performed. Now they did have a coupon for a "tune-up" on their website. And this was explained to be where the annual maintenance was performed on either the a/c or heater but not both. So, a service is a repair and a tune-up is a maintenance. OK then......I got it. Live and learn.

Technician explained that the shaft needed to be repaired and he's never seen this kind of damage before. Not sure if it was intentional but the explanation made it sound like a big issue to explain the cost only to realize later that the motor was the only thing that needed to be replaced. I will admit that their service is quick and professional. But definitely not worth the price tag for a motor replacement. Would have gotten higher marks if the price was more reasonable or a better explanation was given to justify high cost.

Pretty good deal ($51/unit) and the tech did check everything from the list they posted online. One of my two unit is not doing good so he recommends to add a new starter and that cost me $200. By the way, the technician shows up on time and he called me 30 minutes before he arrived, that's very important to me. I hate when someone told me that you tech will be there in between 8am to noon.......
