They were prompt, respectful, and efficient. We were very satisfied with the service.

The best move I've ever had! The hourly rate of $120 for three movers included everything--no extras. The workers were courteous, efficient, and careful all day long.

These guys were true professionals and the move went great. I contacted the office manager Jackie about two weeks earlier about moving some large dining room furniture (table, chairs, china cabinet) as well as a grandfather clock from San Jose to Half Moon Bay, about 50 miles. I was interested in ML Movers because they received high reviews on both Angie's List and Yelp, and I was especially concerned as the items to be moved had been in the family for several decades and therefore had high sentimental value. The items to be moved were all very large and VERY heavy. Jackie assured me that ML Movers were professionals and that all of our furniture would be thoroughly protected during the move with all blankets, plastic wrap, and tape provided at no extra charge. She also told me they had experience moving grandfather clocks. (FYI, moving grandfather clocks safely is not a trivial matter as the weights, pendulum, and clock mechanism all require special handling BEFORE moving the clock. we opted to pay extra and have a clock repair specialist come to the house to properly prepare the grandfather clock for moving a few days BEFORE ML Movers were scheduled to move our stuff.) As this was a single room local move we opted for the hourly $95/ hr rate that included a truck, 2 movers, and all required materials... 4 hour minimum... With the driving time from San Jose to Half Moon Bay being charged at twice the normal hourly rate as required by state law. At first I thought the total cost was high to move a few pieces of furniture... Since I am used to getting free delivery when I buy new furniture... But after watching how hard the 2 movers from ML Movers work, I think we got a bargain! The team was scheduled to arrive in San Jose between 2:30 and 3:30 PM, but arrived an hour early at 1:30 PM. We were not quite ready for them as the china cabinet still had items inside it. We told Peter, the driver, that we needed 10 minutes to empty the cabinet. He told us not to worry as the hourly clock on our move would not start until we were ready. Once they started these two guys were awesome. Our first big scare was discovering that the very large dining room table was not able to be disassembled. A huge problem considering the table weight and the fact that the though the house in San Jose had double entry doors, the house in Half Moon Bay only had a single extra-wide entry door. We decided we had to go for it anyway. The team quickly wrapped every pieces of furniture in blankets, wrapping plastic, and tape. They used all packaging materials generously to thoroughly protect everything and quickly loaded everything in les than 1 1/2 hours. They then followed us on the drive to Half Moon Bay which took less than an hour. Upon arrival in Half Moon Bay I showed the team the dining table and china cabinet that needed to be moved our of the dining room to the garage before the San Jose furniture could be moved in. It should be noted that the Half Moon Bay house has a reverse floor plan so that the dining room is upstairs... Through the single-wide entry door and up a big wood staircase. The guys took it in stride and soon had the old furniture transferred to the garage on the new furniture safely installed in the upstairs dining room. We were so glad that large dining table from San Jose was able to be maneuvered through that door! I cannot say enough how careful these guys were with our furniture as well as with my precious wood floors. They worked very hard and had a great attitude. Those pieces of furniture were HEAVY and watching those guys struggle getting them up those stairs with no complaints was amazing. Not a single scratch on anything! ML Movers employs true professionals... And we're worth every penny they charged. We tipped the guys well... They deserved it. Great job. My ONLY negative comment has to do with the move insurance offered... Or lack of I should say. ML Movers only offered the basic 60 cents per pound insurance, which was covered in the hourly rate fee. Although we had very heavy furniture, this would never come close to covering the true cost of repair or replacement should something have been damaged. I almost did not use ML Movers because they did not offer me the option to purchase the more expensive replacement value or replacement cost insurance like other moving companies do. Based on the previous reviews on Angie's List I crossed my fingers that it wouldn't matter and went with ML Movers and had no problems... But I still wish they would have offered the higher insurance options.

I CALLED ML MOVERS AFTER GETTING NUMEROUS ESTIMATES FROM OTHER MOVERS, AND WAS HANDLED VERY PROFESSIONALLY. I WAS DELIGHTED TO BE GIVEN THE LOWEST ESTIMATE OF ALL. THE PICKUP AND DELIVERY WAS HANDLED VERY WELL, ON TIME AND ON BUDGET. ALL WAS CO-ORDINATED WELL BY JACKIE IN THE REDWOOD CITY OFFICE, WHO KEPT ME INFORMED AT EVERY STEP, CALLING ME WHEN THE MEN PICKED THE ITEM UP, WHEN THE MEN WERE ON THIER WAY TO ME, WHEN I COULD EXPECT THEM TO ARRIVE AT MY HOME, ETC. THE MEN WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE ITEM WHICH HOUSES DELICATE, EXPENSIVE AUDIO EQUIPMENT, AND DID NO DAMAGE. I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY, AND WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

They were terrific and the move went without a hitch. I was amazed at how quickly they could manage all the furniture. No damages and very pleasant personnel.

 Last time we moved
from Sacramento to San Jose. Compare to this move, we had one refrigerator more
but we did not have one desk and two file cabinets. The whole process took 5+
hours including 2+ hour driving. Last time we moved in San Jose. We had similar
stuff like moving from Sacramento, considering it was so close (5 minutes
walking), we did not pack everything. It took 2 trips to get moving done. And
the whole process took 7 hours. The moving of my friends took 9 hours. However
they did not pack at all and their house is 4000 square feet and full of stuff.
I would say 9 hours is far from acceptable. The movers told me they took so
long because they moved with care. I asked them it took 9 hours for them to
move a packed 3-bedroom, how long would take them to move unpacked 3 bedroom,
12 or 15 hours? They kept silence.
3. While I ordered service, the agent told me ML mover would
send a 24 feet truck. I wonder whether it would be big enough and I did not
want to take two trips.  The agent said it
should be fine. While the truck came in on Friday, I told them again my concern
about the size. After quick check with the house, the employee still insisted
the size would be fine. However after 4 hours, ML mover told me the truck was
full and ML mover cannot take more boxes. I had to accept it. So we had over
10+ boxes left in the kitchen even we already put two TVs in our own car. A 27
feet truck would be able to fit everything inside. I told them several times
but I did not get one.
4. We found about 10 items left on the second floor. ML
mover did not pick up everything on the second floor, like changing table,
heater and etc...
5. Most time the movers carried one box by hand. I asked
them why they did not use dolly to save the time and energy. They said they
would like to move with care and protect the house and furniture. It is hardly
for me to accept the excuse. While they moved the sofa out, I told them it is
better to use back yard door since it is wide. They still use the entry door anyway.
I noticed that the seal of the door got damaged. In the latter email, CEO
claimed I did not report anything while moved. However the movers did not tell
me that. All I got is ?sign here?.
6. There is some construction trash outside my new house. We
found ML mover left several items there, bathroom curtains rod, kitchen-aid
accessories and etc. We have no idea why it happened. The movers may drop it by
accident. It is hard for us to be happy with it.
7. I got the call from them to ask whether I am satisfied
with the service. I told them no. And they said hopefully they can do something
in the future. It looks like they did not want to do anything. So I sent an
email and said if they cannot help, I would write review on angieslist. CEO
said ?As a professional moving company we do not let anyone blackmail us by
telling us that their going to share their experience on any websites you may
do as you may like.? That?s why I posted here.

The movers were fairly nice, but they were late, I had numerous broken and damaged belongings afterward.  Some items also went missing.  The front office/manger was very unprofessional and rude.  After moving 450 miles in 24 hours they made me go to the bank late in the afternoon to get a cashiers check because they had forgotten to tell me earlier that was the only way they accept payment.  They made it very clear that if I refused they would charge fees and/or penalties and send a collection agency after me.  Hardly friendly and professional!  Also, they refused to hear any of my complaints about broken, damaged and missing items and instead insisted I would have to contact their insurance company.  That being said, they did not provide me with any contact information for their insurer, despite my requests.

The response of the company (below) is completely false.  The authorities were never called - at least not that I know of.  I also never refused to pay at all and was of the impression that I could pay with a personal check, not a credit card (though I offered, they refused and it certainly would not have been declined had they agreed).  The woman in the front office admittedly forgot to send me their written moving agreement, which was never signed and returned to them.  As such, it was a complete surprise that they would only accept a cashiers check and threatened me with excessive charges at 4 pm if I didn't comply.  Though I'm a lawyer, I simply agreed to their ridiculous demand in order to be done with the situation, get the movers out of my house (who were instructed not to leave), and not have to deal with them any further; even though their threats had no actual legal weight due to their own error in failing to disclosure their terms and failing to get a signed agreement prior to rendering services.  Still, after reading their slanderous and almost completely inaccurate reply, perhaps I should sue.  At the very least, their unprofessionalism and down right pettiness is abundantly clear in their response.  Completely untrue and obviously there is some anger and hurt feelings on their part.  If you would like to use them I wish you better luck than I had.  Rest assured, that is not a high bar.

Minimal direction was needed. They knew their job well. Boxes were placed at the far end according to (a) where we requested or (b) a similar location to where they had been packed. It was an all day job.
a couple of items were broken (a hatstand had a bent leg, a rubber foot fell off a microwave) but that's the nature of moving, so I'm not going to ding them for that.

Hired for packing and moving.  Unresponsive call backs prior to move, poor packing service.

The three men who did our office move were outstanding. They worked hard. We bought sandwiches and they were very grateful, except they would not take the time to eat them until after they finished. They were polite and respectful as well. We could not ask for more. Very reasonable price also, especially in light of the service

They arrived early, were extremely careful with our stuff, finished within the allotted 4 hours, and were friendly and professional. Couldn't ask for anything more from movers. Will use them again. Highly recommended.

I paid cash to get a discount (5%), and did a mid-week move, so that I could use the hourly service without paying for wrapping materials (ended up saving $200 over fixed price move). We had alot of stuff, and filled the entire truck. They couldn't fit one last item in, and offered to send another truck to pick it up, but I told them not to worry as I could move it myself in an SUV later. We are still unpacking, but havn't noticed any breakage. One comment is that their wardrobe boxes were kind of falling apart (they threw 2 of them away after our move), and it took a little longer than expected to wrap furniture (but better safe than sorry).

They were very professional, punctual, and had a great attitude.  Price was reasonable too.  Highly recommend!

The movers arrived on time and after a walk through where we discussed where everything should end up in the new house, I left them to it. The entire process took about 10 hours, and was a mixed experience over all.

During the post-packing walk through, I found that they had left 2 paintings still on the walls, neglected to pack a bedroom closet and assorted items (shoes, laundry supplies, etc) throughout the house. 

The unloading at the new house was also not entirely satisfactory.  We discovered that many of our paintings were shoved diagonally into unsealed boxes with no paper or padding, and several decorative items arrived broken. Additionally, we had asked that all books be moved into a specific upstairs bedroom, but once we started unpacking we discovered more than a dozen boxes of books scattered throughout the house, including bathrooms, bedrooms, and the garage.

The service they provided was at a flat rate and it definitely felt like they cut some corners along the way.

I can't say enough about how pleased I am to have found them!  This is my second move with ML Movers, and both times, the crew arrived early, took care of my things as if it was their own stuff, and did it will speed and efficiency.  I will certainly use them again in the future and have already referred them to friends and co-workers. 

The vehicle, their uniforms, and their service was all very professional.  The crew (Ricardo, Rodolpho and Luis) were superb and clearly took pride in their work. 

Fast and efficient and very helpfull.

My hubby and I have had to move 10 times in the last 6 years so although I was a bit skeptical that any moving company could consistently get 5 stars on YELP, the ML Movers Team made a believer out of me.

The ML Mover Team exceeded my expectations.I have to say from start (Lina was pleasant, professional, efficient, thorough, patient: EXCELLENCE) to finish (the 3-men who did the job: respectful, pleasant, professional, efficient, hard working: FANTASTIC) and in-between (all the checkpoints, updates, messaging)this is the *****BEST MOVE***** I have experienced.

And on top of it all, the guys showed up two hours early just when I was wishing they would! You cannot beat that!

Excellent service from start to finish. Although I hope I never have to move again (!) if I do, I will return to ML MOVERS -- you guys mean it when you say:  Thanks again and have a Happy Move!

They were great.  They were responsible and spoke English.  I really appreciated them.

ML Movers was fantastic.  We had gotten quotes from other moving companies for a long distance move, and the prices were over triple was ML quoted us.  At first, we were a bit weary, afraid that they might be "too good to be true" but we read multiple reviews and did our research, and decided to give them a shot.  We are so happy we did!!  They were very punctual, they showed up right on time and wrapped all of our belongings very carefully before loading everything into the truck (which took a bit of time, but was effective).  They were very easy to communicate with, and were very cordial.  They delivered our truckload the next day to our new home a couple hundred miles away.  They unpacked quickly and efficiently.  We provided lunch on both ends and they were very respectful.  Please note that there is a cash discount.  That increased our savings even more. All told, ML Movers provides great value.  We are very happy with the job they did and recommend them highly.

They were pretty good. They did a good job. They didn’t damage anything and protected my furniture. They were on time. Their office is very efficient and they communicate clearly. They are a good company.

From the start the office staff was responsive and professional, very complete with details and followup. The movers arrived promptly and were polite and clean. They were extremely conscientious about packing items safely, protecting everything carefully and keeping my current apt. rug clean. They went above and beyond as far as doing what it took to get the job done. The only issues were that only 1 of 3 spoke English. Although there was some miscommunication about my need for wardrobe boxes they solved the problem creatively. I was glad that I went for the flat rate, though, because it took longer than I anticipated. They had great attitudes.
