 + -1 moreI discovered a small amount of water on the garage floor near the water heaters and then noticed that the platform on which they sit was quite wet. I was concerned that one of the water heaters was leaking and immediately called Bonney Plumbing. The dispatcher was courteous and responded with the proper amount of concern and urgency. She advised me that a plumber would be arriving within an hour; he showed up in 35 minutes. He found the problem immediately, turned off the water, and worked up the charge for the job. He explained clearly what he would be doing and upon my authorization, he got to work on the problem. He cleaned up completely when finished including wiping everything down around the water heaters. He thoroughly tested the fix to make sure he didn't create new leaks. He was courteous and professional at all times.
Description of Work: I had 2 pin-hole sized leaks repaired in the copper line connecting the water heater to the recirculating pump. The Bonney plumber replaced the entire length of the copper pipe, added a new fitting, and soldered it back on.

 + -1 moreThere was a broken pipe in the control box of my underground irrigation system. The control box is at ground level. There was a pvc pipe connected to a copper pipe and it had given way. This is what they were supposed to fix. Five days later, I had a flood again and they came back, as had not repaired it properly. The original price for one hour of work was $790. After the second episode of leakage and they came back again, they said that first man had not put it together firmly enough in the t-joint so they repaired it again. The gentleman who came the first time and second time were very polite. I complained about the price after it broke loose again and they reduced the price some $300, so it was still $416. It was my fault for not getting three bids, but I would not use this company again.

 + -1 moreCame on time, seemed professional. Told us the $150.00 faucet we already bought wasnt good and we should buy the $300.00 version. We should also buy the disposal from them as it was better quality than the one we already purchased. The bid came in over $500.00. Felt he was too much salesman and not enough taking care of customer. Had another company do it for $250.00 and works beautifully. He thought our faucet and disposal were good quality.

drain cleaning
 + -1 moreThis incident all started with a gas leak under the house. The plumbing problem was discovered while repairing the gas leak. Bonney responded and fixed what was found to be multiple problems with the main drain. And the price was quite acceptable.

 + -1 moreThey came when they said they would and were very professional. I also don't blame them for having to come back and add the angle stop and line because of the leak. I did think, though, that the repair was rather expensive.
Description of Work: We had them repair a faucet in a sink in our bathroom. They had to repair a pop up assembly. After the repair, though, it began to leak, and we needed a new angle stop and supply line.

 + -1 moreIt did not go well at all. The guy who came out tried to get me to pay for a complete toilet rebuild. I didn't trust him, so I said I would think about it and asked around and found out it probably just needed a new flapper. So, I spent less the $10 and replaced it rather than pay the almost $300 he wanted to rebuild my toilet. It has worked fine ever since. I wouldn't trust this company.

 + -1 morePlumber was on time, told me that the work would be no problem, but would involve putting in a flexible pipe that was bigger than what I had to give me enough BTUs, and gave me an estimate for $6,000.

 + 0 moreI called Monday afternoon with water dripping out of the bottom of the water heater. Their first avaiable appointment was 8:30 the next morning. Ryan B, came out in a big truck/van and gave me the estimate to replace the water heater and bring the supporting plumbing up to code. It was much more expensive, than I thought it would be, but they quote by the job, not by the hour and at least I knew going in how much it would cost. He was very courteous and professional, was working on it all day and did a complete job. I got a hot shower at 5pm. The city inspector came 2 weeks later and the work passed. I can do some plumbing myself, but called a plumber because this involved gas. I was pleased with the work and would hire them again.
Description of Work: Replaced old 40 gallon water heater, installed a shut-off valve, installed drain pan and re-did drain pipe under the house to comply with code. The old one was installed in 1991 (15 years ago) before we owned the house.

 + -1 moreThe plumber did a very good job. He wasn't rushed and took his time. I was so upset with myself that a few days later I wrote each of the three radio stations that Bonney Plumbing advertised on and told them of my experience and that because of this I would not be able to trust anyone that adverstised on their stations. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and shortly found out that would be a worthless endeavor. That's why Angie's List has given me a platform. Moral of the story, when the unscroupulous see you are in dire straits watch out as they may very well take advantage of the situation.
Description of Work: Awhile back my water supply line to my toliet tank broke inside the wall as I was trying to hook up my new toilet. It was 4:30 p.m. when I called Bonney Plumbing (I'd heard their radio ads). The plumber looked at it and said it would be $450.00 and I thought I may have a real mess if I call someone that's more reasonable so I decided to bite the bullet. So I did get my estimate before the job was started. He was there 2 hours and 15 minutes. He gave me a $50 discount for being older. The next day I went to Home Depot to see what the materials would have cost me and it would have been less that $25. I figure I paid Bonney Plumbing about $167/hr for their work. I later wrote Bonney Plumbing and they replied that I knew beforehand what it would cost; no question about this, they were right. Had I been able to solder copper tubing I would have done the job myself. I think the plumber saw I was in a mess and went for the $450.00

 + -1 moreThe work was a little more than the plumber had bargained for replacing the pipe-he had to cut into the wall and saw off the line to replace it. I dont know if this is why I ended up paying $200.00 for the faucet installation! It seemed a little pricey. He also let me know that my house should be re-plumbed. At a cost of $8000.00. My house is 1300 sq. feet, and I know this is a very high estimate. He kept telling me how bad galvanized pipes are, and I understand this, but I felt like it was a bit of a hard sell. p.s. The faucet installation has not held up well, and I had to re-caulk myself.
Description of Work: Replace pipe to the water valves under kitchen sink. Install kitchen faucet.

 + -1 moreArrived soon after we called, provided written price for work before starting, very professional and did excellent work, but seemed to be very expensive, especially considering that we already had purchased 2 of the faucets, and the work took only 3 1/2 hours. Next time will probably look for less expensive company.

 + -1 moreI went to the hardware store later and bought three horseshoe clamps. They cost less than a dollar! He'd already quoted me 150 to change the cartridge, so I felt that the additional charge was exorbitant and unethical. I would've paid 25 dollars. In truth, he should have had the part on his truck. That's what the hardware store said.
Description of Work: I hired them to fix a leak which was causing a stream to come from the faucet. The plumber who came was pretty good, but as he was doing the work, he noted that the horseshoe clamp was gone. He didn't say anything more. He got the cartridge out with some trouble, and the clamp was missing. I asked him what he would have to do, and he said he had to go to the hardware store (a mile away). He showed me his rate book, which said 185 dollars for a trip off-site. I called his boss, and he said they would only charge 112.

 + -1 moreThey came in and left the house exactly as they found it, charge by the job not the hour, wear little booties as to not track any mud, put stuff back after they left the bathroom. If their prices are higher it is because they use higher end components.

 + -1 moreI will never use them again. It was a scam to get me to buy an overpriced toilet. Another company was able to successfully unplug the toilet. Bonney plumbing refused to reimburse me the $85 or replace the $50 snake. As a small business person I was shocked. They also did not return my calls.
Description of Work: Toilet would not flush. Plumber used my 12 hours old $50 snake that was next to the toilet and bent it to a 30 degree angle. He denied using it and the owners of the company refused to pay for it. The toilet still did not flush. They said it was a 20 year old toilet (only 8 years) and needed to be replaced to the tune of $650. The $85 does not apply to this balance.
