Bonney Plumbing Heating Air & Rooter Service

I called Bonney at 9:00am, told them my A/C unit was not working, could thay have someone out today? (This is a Friday and was worried that if we needed to order parts, we may be into next week before it got fixed). They gave me a time frame of 10-1pm today - well the tech showed up at about 10:30, looking very professional and well spoken. He got right to work and within 10 minutes told me it needed a new compressor, he had the parts and could have it fixed shortly! He did, it works great, very happy in my cool house today!

Only problem I have with this job was I thought the price was a little high. We needed to replace the valves to our washing machine to continue a remodeling job and didn't want to spend any more time on this job so we went ahead and had them do it, Anton was neat,clean and professional. I think I'd shop around a little next time for a better price.

Bonney Heat and Air scheduled a convenient appointment for us. Their serviceman was great! He was timely and considerate. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly...ice was building up on a main coil and needed to have the A/C unit shut down for 24 hrs. to defrost. before further service could be done. He checked his schedule and assured us he could complete the work the following day. Upon his return, he reinspected the unit and gave detailed information for the service he would provide. He cleaned the coil and recharged the freon in the unit, performed additional tests to ensure the unit was functioning as it should. Because we have multiple units in our house, he checked to make sure the other units were not icing over and found them to be functioning fine. Upon his inspection, he did find that an intake vent had no filter...possibly the cause for the bedroom unit to work harder than it needed. I appreciate Bonney's thoroughness and attention to small details. We could've had a worst problem on our hands. I have such confidence in Bonney Heat and A/C that I've choosen to use them for regular service of my heat and a/c systems.

After a local competitor told me I needed a whole new heater and that I was actually risking my life through carbon monoxide poisoning by running my heater, I had a second (friend-of-the-family) independent heating/air professional come out who disagreed and said I just needed a couple parts replaced. Third is the Bonney serviceman, who arrived promptly, put on shoe covers, and after listening to my description of conflicting reports, performed his thorough inspection using the same "scope" equipment as the first 2 servicemen. He climbed back down from my attic and confirmed that I did not need a whole new heater, taking time to answer all my questions and further educate me. He even recommended I call PGand E for a 4th opinion as to potential gas leak from the phantom "cracked rings in the heat exchanger" described by the first company. Obviously, we both knew the door was wide open for him to make a "big sale". And the fact that he did not try to sell me on a new heater was exactly how he gained credibility with me and the reason Bonney earned my business. And eventually, when I do need a new heater, I will not feel compelled to get other opinions as Bonney will be the company that gets that job.

They had also replaced another water heater. They did a good job.

It was a good experience. I have no complaints. They came when they said they would and did job a good.

Overall, the process of replacement went well. I was disappointed because of the high prices. I'd used Bonney Plumbing in the past (within last 5 or so years) and always was very happy with both their work and their prices. Sadly to say, their prices are way high now so that I won't use them again.

They are fabulous and work very well. We are very pleased with them. They are very prompt and their workmen are very professional and I would definitely use them again.

We noticed a lot of water under our house and determined we had a leak. A neighbor recommended Bonney Plumbing so we called them. The first plumber to come out said he would not go under the house until it was dried out and recommended Emergency Services Restoration (ESR). This plumber seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and was very rude to my husband. We had ESR come out and pump the water out from under the house. Called Bonney back to get a plumber out to find the leak and thank goodness the first guy who came out was busy and we got a different plumber, Jason who was great. I did not like that they charged us $125 to find the leak--took about 10 minutes. I thought the "estimate" should have been free. The leak was in a pipe going through the concrete of our front porch to a spigot. Since we didn't want the front porch destroyed we had Jason just cut the pipe and cap it off. This cost an additional $500 for about 15 minutes work. Yes he did get muddy but come on, at this rate they would be charging approximately $1000 an hour for their work, plus the diagnosis fee. We were satisified with the work but felt it cost way more than it should have. As for the plumbers, I think your satisfaction depends on which one you get--the first one we got was terrible but we were extremely happy with Jason--except for the cost.

Kitchen sink faucet was leaking.. not shutting off completely. Called Bonney and they came out within a few hours. They replaced the cartridge in the faucet, but could not replace the handle. Said the threads were stripped. (I fixed this easily later by using a slightly larger screw, which they apparently didn't have in the semi-truck they arrived in). Then they started my "free" inspection, finding small plumbing problems all over the house. The prices they quoted to repair were outrageous... $1500 to replace a small piece of sheetrock, $300 to resolder a hot water heater valve, hundreds to reseat a uneven toilet. They pressed hard to start the repairs immediately. Ultimately they left, charging me $150 to replace the faucet cartridge.. which I later found took ten minutes and the part cost $20. I completed all the other repairs myself for about $100 in parts. Though they were prompt and courteous, I could tell immediately their business practice was preditory, using he leaky faucet call as an opportunity to detect additional expensive repairs. Their prices were very high. They didn't even replace the handle. I don't need this kind of help.

I got a $125 written estimate for the drain cleaning in writing and additional comments of $820. which included the toilet. I signed the $125 estimate and he got working. I thought $820 was a lot of money, do I asked a lot of questions about the toilet and checked the web on the Toto toilet. It had good reviews, so I told Anton to go ahead with it. When the work was done, I was given an invoice for $945. I was surprised. I thought that the total for both was $820. I have never seen an estimate or estimates that did not include the bottom line. I paid, but I was angry, and too angry to call Bonney. This is the second time this year, I have felt ripped off by the. I will have to think long and hard before I call bonney plumbing again.s

Contractor was prompt. He explained how and why additional work was needed. Work was done in a professional and timely manner. I felt Jon was courteous and considerate. I will definitely use this company again and will refer my friends.
