Very good responsiveness (2 day wait) during heat wave. Technician installed Hard Start Kit (essentially a capacitor for just the compressor giving it a greater kick to start) and it worked. My only complaint was the cost of the HS Kit. It was $294 and installed as part of the diagnosis process that I paid for. Online the part is $12. I put no on "would hire again" question, but in truth it would depend on cost. I will be sure to do more research before authorizing repairs.

Do not trust Gilmore. The representative is extremely deceptive. He will say one thing to make you happy, but in the end does not deliver. Very tricky and manipulative.

Went great. Arrived on schedule. Performed work in a timely manner. Thought service included washing outside unit. Fine print didn't include it. Like them well enough to order a future service. So they cleaned my unit while here. Good business.

I was very disappointed specially when you spend that kind of money you are hoping to get some rebates.  They said that if I was under a different program it would be a piece of cake and I will get my money back really easily.  Under PG & E it is a lot of hassles because I have to pay money upfront to have them come out to look at this and that and I don't end up getting enough money to make it worthwhile.  Well, that is not the final impression that I have; they should be able to get a rebate and that the provider is supposed to submit the paper work and I have now from the PG & E signed twice sent email to say let's revisit this issue because you guys said "no we can't get a rebate"; that's not what I believed to be true.  I have not heard anything back from them at all.  I will keep on following up on this one.  However, it went fine but what was surprising was they came out one early afternoon then within an hour or two a salesman came over and I think they started working the next day.  It was all really good in terms of turn around.  We found out we have another cold air returned vent installed so it was a lot more work.  This house was originally built in '89 and then they put a thousand foot addition on it but I am getting the impression that they didn't take care of that well when they should have.  So some of the motors were burnt out than they should have been.  It was good to know all of that; if I look at the name of the unit I don't recognize them and that sorts of bothers me.  I don't know anything in terms of did we get overcharged; it sound like an awful amount of money.  Everything was done very professionally and we don't have a problem with that.

Gilmore is always punctual, polite and professional. They explained why we were having the different Temps and what we could do to rectify the situation. They also cleaned all the filters for us since we have the lifetime filters the worker cleaned them and re-installed them which is so kind because with ten foot ceilings it is a pain to drag a big ladder all over the house to clean the filters.

The tech talked me into a service plan to get a 20 % discount on the repair quote.
Then I asked for a replacement estimate. Salesman came out next week and provided a quote and coaxed me into signing agreement because he is giving me a discount to get his crew working on it the next day.
Next day salesman called and said crew had another job.  Got 2 other quotes, one of which was much less, so I went with them.
Had to send in 3 day notice of recission to Gilmore, and asked for refund of service agreement.

We guarantee 100% satisfaction and have been around for almost 40 years to stand behind all work we do. We are very price competitive and have a price match guarantee. If there is a substantial price difference, it is because it is not the same job. Most home warranty companies do not offer what we do. We include permits, title 24 testing and of course, all of our Gilmore Guarantees. We dispose of all duct work and design our duct change outs to meet or exceed all cooling and heating needs. The service tech came out at the appointed time and did the inspection. He was very professional, courteous and informative. We liked the tech very much, and the fact he was very respectful of our home...cleaned up after himself, wore shoe covers, etc. definitely a good experience!

They came out as scheduled and they up-sold us on a device that we did not need for the house. They did give us some good information but I think  that the technician they sent out was more interested in picking up an extra sale and talked us into something that it was not necessary. We ended up putting in a new heating system with another company. I did not like the way they handled themselves. They have since called me back two or three times about follow-up visits, and I have told them that I got a new system and that I'm using a different company so they should stop calling me. I'm not terribly impressed with my experience. The guy was nice enough but he was fast talking an obviously interested in the sales aspect of it. I think the companies are using the Big Deal's to get their companies in there to book service contracts. The guy that came out to our house and tried to sell me an entire system. They were here in time and the did perform the service. the technician was very smart and he gave me some good information about my system. There was good value in having them come out but I would just tell people to be aware because the guy was very smooth in making me feel like my system was going to go down. I don't like that they up-sold me while trying to quote me a new system at the same time.
