I contacted Hamon after chasing away another company (one that runs large ads and has 7x24 service) wanted to charge me $180 to "replace a shot" garage door trolley mechanism, more than I spent on the entire opener a year earlier. Daniel at Hamon simply adjusted the trolley for the price of a service call. After discussing new door options, Hamon installed a new door, explained maintenance, and took the old door away. I strongly recommend Hamon to honestly diagnose and correct problems without any high-pressure sales BS.

Arrived promptly. Entire job took less than 30 minutes. The garage door was cracking and the support brace stabilized it and prevented it from cracking further. The door was also loud and now with the new rollers it is super quiet!

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. The customer service rep sent me all the information I needed and once we chose the door we wanted she set up an appointment within a few days for measuring and inspecting our garage door opener.
We were told in advance that because our door was a special order it could take up to two weeks but to our suprise they were ready to go within about 10 days. Once we were notified of its arrival an appointment was immediately set up for installation within a few days.
Our installer, Milt Plumey, was extremely punctual and efficient. he removed the old door, installed the new one and hooked up our existing garage door opener within a few hours time. He took the time to explain everything to us as far as proper care and maintenence of both the door and the opener. We truely appreciated that he was so thorough.
Could not ask for more - great service, quality product and reasonable prices!!!

It went great from first call to installation.

Hamon Overhead Door was very responsive, professional and reasonably priced.  I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for repair or replacement of garage doors.  This company is locally owned and it shows in their overall customer service.  No question who I will be having do service work on my very heavy wood garage doors from now on!

The night before we called for service, my husband went to open our garage door and the metal braces holding the door opener unit to the ceiling suddenly snapped and the whole motor head began to drop down. He quickly propped up the unit with our 7’ ladder and boxes on top of that to keep the motor railing from sagging and possibly damaging even more than the unit itself. With our garage door being out of commission and the only way to open it was manually, I knew I wanted to get it serviced asap.
We had used Hamon Door a number of years ago for a tune-up but I decided to use Angie’s List to look for a service company since I now had a membership to Angie’s List. I was pleased to find that Hamon Door indeed had the best ratings in my area. So I called them the next morning and explained the situation. Even though it sounded like they had a pretty busy day already, they were able to send a guy out first thing that morning to check things out for me. At that time, they suggested replacing the whole unit rather than just replace the brackets holding the unit since our unit was already 14 years old and may have needed a new motor in the coming months or years. So to avoid another service call in the near future we agreed to replace it. They set up a time later that morning to replace the unit and later on Milt arrived at the agreed upon time. He was really surprised to find that the brackets had broken like they had and said that in his years of service he had never seen anything quite like that.

Milt was very friendly and easy to talk to and didn’t mind me watching what he was doing. I’m kind of mechanical myself and so I was interested in seeing how things were done. He worked quickly and neatly to install the new opener and then lubricated all the springs and door parts. Our new unit also has a HomeLink system that is supposed to coordinate with your car so you can open the garage door within your car via your car’s button system. Milt took the time to try and help me sync up the system with our car but because HomeLink recently updated their garage door system, we weren't actually able to get it to sync. Doing so required me ordering an adaptor to get it to sync with my car’s HomeLink system. That part cost me an extra $30 and was ordered from HomeLink and arrived a few days later. During the waiting time I was able to use the button device that came with the new unit so there wasn't really any problem except that I'm used to using my HomeLink button system instead. It was just a matter of changing my habit whenever I came home.
During Milt’s service time he also showed me things to be aware of as far as maintenance and how to avoid future maintenance calls if we wanted to lubricate the springs and other door parts ourselves. I really enjoyed Milt’s courtesy and professional demeanor and the helpful information he willingly shared. I would happily recommend Hamon Door to anyone looking for quick, courteous, and professional work.

I don't remember the employees name but when he came out to make an estimate he arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and also very helpful as I wanted to change the type of door I was replacing. He gave me an estimate which I agreed to and said it would take about a week to get the door, which it did. They called me when it came in and came out and installed it. There were no problems with the installation, it fit perfectly and it has worked fine. I would recommend them to anyone who needed any garage door repair done.

They are obviously busy. It took a few calls/follow-ups on my part to get a proposal back from them, but it was worth the wait. The price was good and the workmen did great work. They were very tidy, as well, which I appreciated. In and out in a few hours. I can understand why they have such a high satisfaction rating.

Excellent! For both of our garage doors are in much better shape than the way they were just before things broke. The double-torsion spring that was newly installed on our double-car garage door will share the load and should last longer than the original single-torsion spring that was installed when the house was first built in 1994. And, our single-car garage door is so much more sturdier than it ever was before with the added metal strut bar all the way across it's top width of the door. Now both of our overhead garage doors operate so smoothly and are much quieter than ever before. Needless to say, we are extremely satisfied with Greg Hamon's expertise and workmanship.

The guy that came out (and on time) was so knowledgeable about garage doors it was amazing! I have a dinosaur garage door opener. He knew exactly what was wrong and had the part in his truck to fix it. In addition, he adjusted the stuff that makes the garage door go up and down manually. He said it was sticking. After he did his adjustments and lubrications the door opened manually way easier than before. My garage door opener is pre 1995 and as far as I can tell it will probably work after I'm dead! This review was written 4 months after the service and the door mechanism is working like a charm!
