CertaPro Painters of Pasadena CA

Part of their sales pitch on the phone was, "You'll get an estimate from our rep before they leave your home." That was untrue, but I was okay with it since, in addition to painting, I also asked about replacing some trim. Three days after they came to take measurements, I called to see what the holdup on the estimate was, and they apologized and said they'd get it to me ASAP. I never received the estimate or any kind of update. I'd say thanks for nothing, but doing nothing would be preferable to wasting my time.

Bob's crew did an excellent job. Arrived on time each day and completed the work on schedule. I would definitely use his services again and will recommend him to my clients.

This guys are painters. Used quality paints. Their neat and clean.

Very well! Bob and the painters were great. The first morning Bob was there to go over the job with the painters and with me. The painters were very professional and easy to work with and the house looks great. Certa Pro also did an interior job for me prior to this so I was a repeat customer when they did this exterior work.

Friendly team works well together, is swift, and tidy. The I nterior of this house never looked better!

Getting to 'paint' day was very long, however, the paint went well and the work is excellent.

Very poorly. We called for an estimate and the person answering the phone wanted to know how much we were willing to pay for the job and what type of job did we wanted- good fair or poor. Several days later the estimator called and wanted to know why we had requested additional bids besides CertaPro. We stated it was wise to get several bids. The caller assured us they were the best ever and there was no need for additional bids. We set up a time for the estimator to come by to make a bid but the morning of the day the estimator was to come we received a call that they were cancelling, the estimator was ill. They wouldl call back to reschedule. To date no call back. Our advice is: don't waste you time with this company.

Overall they did an excellent job. We had two quotes previously and were very clear on our maximum budget. CertaPro was able to come in lower, and added exterior paint on our Tuff Shed to match. They were out prepping by the following week, started on a Monday and finished by Friday. They were fast and did a very thorough job on the prep which included stucco patching and wood patching from old termite damage. Christina, the sales rep I coordinated with was easy to get a hold of, asked the right questions, and was extremely nice to work with. My husband and I are super busy, but she was able to do everything over the phone and via email after the initial walk through, that way we didn't have to be home the entire time. My only negative is that they were a little messy with the paint and did not do a quality check. Paint bled past the tape and onto the metal flashing on our roof, paint was sprayed in spots under our roof overhang, a water spigot in our backyard was covered in paint, and the trim around our front door wasn't painted at all. I spoke to Christina and next day they came out and cleaned it all up and finished the trim. Looks great!

I priced several vendors, and they were not the cheapest, however I'm glad that I went with them ...I can recommend getting Oswald as your onsite guy if possible

We decided to sell our house three weeks ago and started looking on Angieslist for all types of contractors who can do the long list of work that's needed to get done in a short amount of time. No one can commit to us like Bob. We were so blessed we found Bob and his team as they were able to do give us a super competitive quote and finish all the work to the smallest details within a week. A week. Everyone who came to our house were WoW'ed by it because of Bob wonderful work. Our house looks amazing and attracted over three thousand views within the first two days it got listed on the market. We will use Bob on all our future projects and will recommend him to any one we know. See the pictures and you will see the quality of his work.

The quality of work is acceptable. Their prices are not competitive.

Every step of the way, from the initial consultation/estimate, the color consultant, and the painting, was handled in an efficient, professional and friendly manner. Everybody was so accommodating and enjoyable to work with. Painter Hong and his partner did an amazing job. Great attention to detail, and we are so pleased with the finished product. The experience with them was not great. The painters were late more times than not. One of the painters would disappear portions of the day, and left the other guy to do the work, and so it was an on again and off again. The end product was okay, but it was aggravating to work with his kind of unprofessional attitude. I don't have complaints about the end product.

Certa-pro wasn't our highest bid for this work but they weren't the lowest either. We felt the depth of the estimate coupled with the positive reviews on Yelp and Angie's list enabled us to select Certa-pro with confidence. Overall, they were dependable, courteous, respectful of our property, and responsive to our needs. The finished product achieved what we were looking for . . . a quality paint job that enhanced the look of our home. A couple of cautions worth mentioning: (1) the amount of actual "prepping" was significantly less than anticipated. They kept telling us that for an older home, it was in very good condition. However, we're noticing areas where much more prep should have been done prior to painting; (2) when we mentioned the advertised 10% discount for seniors (advertised on Angie's List), they said they would do what they could but they liked to know we were requesting the discount BEFORE they put the bid together. Wow . . . really? In the end, they knocked very little off the bid price. Well below 10%; (3) some areas where to wood siding required patching, repair or replacement, they did not bring these issues to our attention and simply painted over the areas. They require re-work. Bottom line is though we saved some money going with Certa-pro, we may have been better served going with the highest bidder who was exhaustive in their bid about the level of prep work they intended to do. Obviously a lingering concern is whether or not this extensive paint job will last as long as we hope. An attractive paint job on the house with minor lingering concerns about the life of the paint job due to less than rigorous prep on wood siding and wood window frames.

However, I was very impressed by the work write-up and professionalism of the firm.  Write-up was very detailed and well explained.

He did an overall excellent job. There were some minor troubleshooting issues. For example, he painted the wrong door and also painted the wall boards a different color. However, once I notified him of this, he immediately arranged to correct the problem and fixed everything as requested. Overall, I would definitely recommend him. His price was far better than the competitors. Also the work was done exceptionally well.

It was fine. They came out at the appointed time, did a pretty thorough job of walking around and looking at things that needed to be done, and then sent us a pretty detailed estimate.

Due to condo association budget issues, painting was postponed.
