Will's Fix All

I was excited about meeting this company in our search for someone to paint our home. I scheduled with the receptionist on the phone, and no one came, no one called. Since we were getting several others, I did not call to inquire why we were stood up. I had lost my trust in this company. I was very disappointed.

They were very good. He repaired a door fixture hinge. I am very happy with his services.

He was very professional. He is thorough and on time.

Will arrived at 8:30 a.m. as scheduled. He worked steadily and efficiently all day until 7 p.m., until he completed as much as he could the items on my list. He sent me on errands to buy supplies he needed rather than take the time himself (and charge me). Also, by buying the items myself, I knew that the amount wasn't padded, and I had the added benefit of placing the purchases on my credit card that gave perks. He only charged me $555 for the day, which I found extremely reasonable, especially with the excellent skill level he possessed. I am so excited to find such an honest, reputable, skillful person to help me.

Because Will and his team had conducted highly successful work for us earlier, we called upon them again to help with 5 areas listed. The biggest job and one that largely took place off-site was the ultimate construction of a beautiful cabinet with pull out drawers that matched 30-year old bathroom cabinetry perfectly (!) and gave us much needed space since we don't have medicine cabinets nor room for them either. This is solid wood construction with great hardware that glides wonderfully and looks just like it was there all along. I worried about doing anything at all for fear it would make a total mess out of the retro look. However, since I wasn't ever going to use that big hole of a space that 1980 builders created for vanity benches, I thought it was worth exploring and that custom creation was installed for under $900. I mean, who ever has enough cabinets and drawers in a bathroom anyway? This was such a sensible solution; so glad Will and team created it for us! The other jobs, separate from that task, were also done very thoughtfully, cleaning up after themselves as they went along, draping cloths to catch any debris, and asking my opinion whenever there were choices. We now have a stunning well lighted piece of metal wall sculpture thanks to the added recessed can light on dimmer (which matches other can lights in the same room). And another small yet important job: our tired, dated, crusted -over-with-mineral deposits shower heads are now new ones and with new valves to keep that hot water accessible! We had a new portable AC unit that just wasn't doing the job in a bonus space/casita type area and Will conducted a very scientific experiment on the unit in another room and learned that we needed to treat exhaust hoses more carefully as they were falling apart (not venting properly) when it wasn't kinked altogether. The AC unit itself was fine and he reinstalled it properly [unlike the contractor who did the job 3 months ago]. Today I'm so happy because that old Air Force-loud high-decibels jet of my original master bath exhaust fan was horrible. There was a disincentive to use it and we really need to use one because the shower moisture would build up otherwise creating yet new problems like mold. One day recently the fan made a new, odd, and ominous crackling sound while I was showering so I called upon Will to replace it with one that I purchased myself online (saving lots of money, which he supports btw; not every contractor would go along with it) and what a sweet unit this Broan ultra quiet exhaust fan is! [Note: I was once rescued from a house fire that originated from an old, faulty, shorting-out kitchen exhaust fan -- check your exhaust fans and keep yourself safe is my strong advice!] If you go with Wil Waterman of Will's Fix-All, you will not go elsewhere again!

He is very consistent. He just comes in and fixes everything very well. He is great. I am getting ready to use him again next week. He always charges $45.00 an hour. His professionalism and the precision with which he does the job are what stand out about him. He has put pictures up for me. He measures. He doesn't do it like I do it. He sits there and he measures everything so it's perfectly in the middle. Anything he does, he does with precision and he does it very well. I haven't seen people put pictures up and just sit there and start measuring from corner to corner so that it's exactly in the middle. I have never seen anyone do that before. I have used him four or five times. He is great and I obviously got him from Angie's List. I thought his price was reasonable. He is very punctual. I am sitting here thinking that I have to call Will again. I live in a duplex and my landlord has a lot of places. He is not going to come and fix everything and I don't feel like sitting around with all stuff broken or not working.

He's very conscientious, thorough and professional. He's a really good guy.

We met with Will and walked around the space where the bookshelves would go then we sat inside with samples of most commonly used books for that space and discussed, almost in brainstorm fashion, my needs for shelving, the size of shelf boards, spacing of shelves, and materials and finish. I would estimate that between visits, because he returned as we reaccessed our situation and need to work around a portable a/c unit, Will and/or his associates took 4-6 hours with us and of course they drove out to our home to do so in the hottest weather imaginable! They were very good about listening to why this little project was important as we discussed the wide array of options to get the job done nicely and securely. After all, when shelves go to the ceiling and become the entire walls they must be constructed thoughtfully and with endurance and safety in mind, not just attractiveness. Part of what thrilled us about their work is that most of the project occurred off-site. That is, they constructed the shelving and support structure, primed and painted it all beautifully (after being sure to get my opinion on the type of paint I wanted used), and were ready to assemble and install within 7-10 business days! Amazing, really when you think about it: there was a lot to digest and many points where 'lesser' contractors would have dragged the work out dabbling a bit each day and working me in as it was easy to do. NOT so with Will and his crew! They worked hard over 2.5 days in the heat of a desert August to get a wonderful system installed and it was totally completed in under 2 weeks from the first phone call! Importantly, there's such a high degree of professionalism among Will and his workers that your mind is put to rest about having them around. They are not intrusive, very respectful and clearly care about doing a TOP job and leaving the customer very happy. Listen: I was kicking myself thinking of all the other jobs we've given to other contractors out there and boy oh boy, how I wish we had returned to our Angie's List first! I have no excuse; we were Angie's List for quite a long time and in other cities too. When we finally got to this stage, I'm so glad , though, that I remembered to check out Angie's List and to call someone like Will in particular to see if this kind of project was even something they could consider doing! We're already studying other project ideas and you know who we'll be talking to -- Will's Fix All of Palm Springs! Take note: I just realized today that there are many other contractors who are parlaying off the name of his business. Be sure to select Will Waterman of Palm Springs. I can't vouch for any of the other 'fix all' companies but Will's Fix All is the one you want; I guarantee it!

Excellent.....Will arrive on time, went about his work in a very professional manner and completed the job just how I wanted. He was kind and courteous and did a great job of cleaning up after the work was done.

They called me back in a timely manner to set up the appointment. On the day of the service they called to let me know Will was running about an hour late. He was very friendly/courteous/professional and got right to work. He drilled holes in the cinderblock and drilled new holes in the bottom plate of the mailbox. He finished in an hour. I would recommend him to family and friends, and plan on hiring him again in the future.

I clicked "would use again" because I will try contacting him again - his lack of return call corresponded with my lack of funds, so I would have had to cancel the project even if he had called.

Will came out and gave me his estimate for the job, he showed up when he said he would. He did the job even though the high winds were blowing at the time. He took my credit card payment and left with a job well done. I have other jobs I would like to have him do on my rentals.

Overall I was very happy. When I called him He merely screwed off the top of the broken valve and screwed on the new valve. In a few days that did not work, the valve blew off. I called him up and asked him to come back in again. He set up an appointment and did not make that appointment. I ended up having to have my gardener put on a whole new valve.

Will explained everything honestly and thoroughly and performed the work quickly. An overall great experience. Will definitely be calling on him again in the future.

It went great his price was reasonable. He is very polite. Everything went well.

A friend used Will's service and was very pleased with all aspects of Will's service, very nice person to do business with, picked up parts for job on his own and produced all receipts. She would highly recommend his services.

The job was relatively small but it needed to be done with a good degree of expertise and Will did not disappoint. Although he did not start on the agreed upon date, he called and asked to reschedule which worked out just fine. He arrived on time and worked diligently for about 7 hours overall as we needed to purchase some paint and the ceiling height presented some challenges. Will is a great person and would rather get to work then to shoot the breeze. The finished product looks great!!

Called to make an appointment for an estimate. He called back within 24 hours. We set up a date/time to connect. He came to the house to quote a kitchen remodel...took measurements, notes, etc. Never heard back after that. I tried to call and left a message or two, but nothing in return.

We were very pleased with Will's work. He was prompt, neat and professional.

On 10/12/2010, I had a wall of mirrors and glass shelves in my living room removed by a glass and mirror professional. Since the newly exposed wall had damage from the thick black glue used to hold up the mirrors, I called Will's Fixall later that night and he agreed to come out the following morning at 8 am to take a look. He was able to do the work the same day, removing the glue, patching the holes from the glue and shelves with plaster, and then retexturing all of the surfaces to match the rest of the living room. It looks perfect. While he was there, I also had Will change the deadbolt in my front door to a new keyless lock, and drill and install a peephole in my front door. His rates were reasonable, he worked quickly and neatly, and I'm going to be hiring again to build some bookcases and repair the grout and caulking in my bathrooms.

Let me start with I had a problem with our meeting and had to postpone at least once. We had discussed starting at nine on the day we agreed upon, but he was not able to be here until noon. While Wally is very nice and polite, and has all the tools, I felt that six (6) hours was a bit much to install a new deadbolt and doorknob set, three (3) new door knobs, one CostCo kitchen light fixture and partially install a fan and light. He also unclipped lateral blinds but took so long on the other items that the new curtain rod was not put up. The dining room furniture was not replaced to its original position and I took the empty boxes to the trash. He was comfortable with my going out to pick up some plants that were being given to me. At 6pm I called it a day. The dining room fan is not completed and wobbles when turned on. Hardly surprising given how much it was moved about from the bottom after being installed into the ceiling. Perhaps my expectations are too high, but this seemed much too long at 1 1/2 hours per project.

His painter was not that great. He's a nice guy and he does what he says he's going to do, but I found him to be a little expensive. The clean up and professionalism was very good. He does what he says he's going to do, he's professional, but expensive.

I highly recommend "Will" (owner) for a job very well done! He began and completed the work in a professional and experienced manner. I am definitely going to call upon his company again for all future "handyman" work.
