 + -1 moreChris came out and replaced the outside faucet and found that the garbage disposal was only jammed. He got the disposal working and the overall charge was only as much as he quoted for repacing the faucet. If he was not an honest person, he could have sold me a new garbage disposal and made much more for his service call but as it turned out, he charged much less than what I expected the overall bill to be. The tenant is very satisfied. I will certainly use him again!
Description of Work: Chris replaced an outside hose faucet in a rental property I have that had started to leak and would not shut off. Also the tenant reported that the garbage disposal had stopped working monthe ago and felt it needed replacement.

 + -1 moreChris returned my call within minutes. He was cordial and scheduled an appointment that worked with my hectic week of medical appointments. Chris was on time, professional in every way. He replaced the broken piece, including a new stopper with the chain I preferred for $7. With the trip charge, that brought the total bill to $97. No BS. No trying to sell me a bunch of unnecessary things. Had the appropriate part in his truck, so no need for ordering parts and scheduling another visit. Just in and out in a matter of minutes. Price was reasonable, and less than others quoted. Much appreciated, considering that simple sort of thing is something I can physically no longer do myself. Next time I need a plumber, I will call Chris again.
Description of Work: Toilet was broken--specifically the piece of plastic that extends vertically from the toilet's handle to the stopper. It needed to be replaced, preferably with an old fashioned chain like older toilets always had from the handle to the stopper. In years gone by, I would have fixed it myself, but physical disabilities now limit what I can do.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreKen came out, dealt with the really bad placement of the mobile home. The cutoff valve to the mobile home needed to be replaced, he managed to get the water company to come out quickly to shut off the main so it could be done. He explained every step, got it done, made it sure it was working. I couldn't be happier with the work done.

Plumbing gave me a free estimate including driving 20 miles away from Palm Springs.They charged me exactly $340.00 as per the estimate price.Ken installed a whole house shut off valve in galvanized pipe which required a powerthreader. Ken also installed a 3/4 inch hose bib for outside watering and thoroughly checked for any leaks.Ken was very professional and I highly recommend them.

 + 0 moreThey were absolutely wonderful! I know that it sounds like they charged alot, but I had several things done. Besides they were prompt (which is a huge deal here in the desert), courteous and professional so I didn't mind as much.
Description of Work: I had a new water heater installed and needed some other part that had broken replaced (can't think of what it is right now), I had shower faucet issues in my master bathroom and guest bathroom (it needed to be replaced), the toilet was leaking & had to be resealed and the mechanism in the tank needed to be replaced.

 + -1 moreChris made an appointment to replace a leaking toilet on 2/1/2012 between 2pm and 4pm. I waited till 5pm and he didn't show up and didn't even call. Later, when checking my voice mails, he had called at 5:10pm and expected to still come and didn't even apologize ! He called the next morning and I told him I'll find someone else because he's not reliable.
Description of Work: No work performed. I waited 3 hours. Chris did not show up and didn't even call.

 + -1 moreI had called several plumbers in the area and they said it would cost around $1,200.00 for a new heater and everything that needs to be done with it plus hauling away. None suggested there may be a simple problem to fix and most said they couldn't get to it for a week. I looked on Angie's List and called SOS Plumbing. He called back right away and said he charged $80 for a service call to determine the problem. He was in between calls in the area and said he would be right over. He was there within 15 minutes, diagnosed and fixed the problem and was finished within an hour! The hose on the top of the heater was bad and had leaked into the water heater putting out the pilot light. He replaced the hose, drained the tank and lite the pilot. We were delighted with his prompt, professional and reasonable fee ($120) service! We will definitely keep his card at the top of our list.Thanks for the great service!

Service was very professional and the toilets were quickly fixed at a reasonable cost. I would recommend SOS Plumbing and I would use them again.
Description of Work: I had two toilets that were out of order. One toilet was leaking water onto the tile and the second toilet was not refilling.

 + -1 moreThe whole experience was good, from the initial telephone call to SOS Plumbing, their quoted response time and finishing with rehanging the garden hose. Chris of SOS was calm and professional. He explained each step and showed what had failed. The bill was itemized. There was no added stress to the event.
Description of Work: SOS plumbing repaired/replaced the short metal section between the underground street water meter and the main water line to the house, they removed some galvanized pipe and replaced with the proper copper pipe, ball valve, and regulator. The also repaired a second back check valve.

At my request he also evaluated the complicated plumbing under the sink and gave me suggestions to consider in the future. No pressure but helped so I can plan and budget. The leak in a pipe was fixed. Very reasonably priced.

Then I had a problem at our church with a leak and he was right there within 20 minutes and took care of that. Everything including the work at the church was about $5,000. He was terrific. He is the owner of the business and he had one fellow that is his helper. He was also terrific. We would absolutely use him again.
Description of Work: We used S O S Plumbing to take care of a water leak from a pipe under the concrete. He also did a new water heater.

He went and got them immediately and completed the job! The owner stopped by and even recommended a company with a good reputation for another home repair issue we are having while his serviceman finished up. We will be using SOS for all our plumbing needs in the future and recommending them to our friends!
Description of Work: Had kitchen sink faucet repaired. Two toilets needed repair and new parts. The serviceman had to go and get parts. Their parts were reasonably priced (the one part we had to use by Delta was the most expensive part of the bill's itemizations). They were prompt, professional and pleasant. Even repaired the dishwasher, on the spur of the moment, that was installed incorrectly by another company.

Description of Work: Chris (the owner) replaced five outside faucets (they were all approx. 25 yrs. old and leaking) and replaced a leaking hot water shut-off valve under the master bathroom sink. The hot water faucet on the sink top was not shutting off completely, so Chris researched the custom type of faucet insert that was required, went out to supply houses, found the proper replacement, came back two days later and finished the replacement. He was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and helpful. It was a pleasure to have him working for us. On the following Wednesday, I received a call from gardener at our church that there was a water leak coming from an old (50 yrs.) galvanized water pipe on the church property. The gardener could not repair it, thus the call to me (Treasurer). I called Chris and he was came over to the church withing 30 minutes. The gardener had turned off the water to the entire property so when Chris turned it back on the galvanized pipe was shooting water out of a hole in the pipe. Chris attempted to put a temporary patch on the pipe but was unsuccessful due to the fact that the leak was under a large electrical conduit. Chris had workmen there the next morning to dig up the lawn to provide working space and had the repair completed in a couple of hours. I am completely satisfied with his professionalism, promptness and dedication.

I asked him about another issue the home inspector had listed, regarding the venting of the hot water heater area (inspector said a licensed plumbing contractor should look at it). Ken inspected it and said the venting appears to be up to code, so no change was needed.
Description of Work: Checked several repairs recommended by home inspector prior to sale of house. Tightened kitchen faucet, released frozen/stuck faucet at another sink, replaced angle valves under bathroom sink and dug out blockage in faucet which was causing very low flow of hot water.
