Best Care Tree Service Inc

He gave us a MINIMUM price and never came to look at the job. We had it done by another Angie's List provider who came to look at it. The price was lower than this company's minimum and he did a wonderful job.

John Colizzi was fabulous and I was really happy with him. I will probably hire him again in October. I spotted owls nest in my trees, I needed somebody who really knew their stuff, and the minute he got there, he told me that he would not trim them that would kill the owl. He said they should be trimmed only in the fall and all he could do was trim it off the roof and off the driveway so we pass the fire inspection. He said with a tree like that, we could jeopardize it and it could die if he trimmed it right then approaching summer and I was confused I thought we were supposed to trim it in the spring but he said no. I thought that was really nice that he would forgo a job of thousands of dollars and say he wouldn't do it because he could kill the trees, so I was just delighted. I thought that was just above and beyond and I was quite pleased. He was just delightful because a lot of other people would have just come and trimmed my trees just to get the work. What stood out was he had integrity, which is why I hired him. I like to work with people that I can hire back year after, year. He was also reasonable. I don’t think I will hire him to all my trees because he is really expensive but with trees like mine I have to hire somebody really good or they could destroy my trees. So I will pay the price to hire him back in the fall.

Went great! Professional advice and execution all around. I live 4 states away but they did exactly what i asked. Showed up on time, sent me pics of the trees before and after, cleaned up thoroughly and thanked me for the work. I had the next door neighbor verifying their work for me before i paid (esp. making sure they cleaned up properly) and he was thrilled. They were not the cheapest quote i received but with the Angie's List discount it was pretty close. Definitely will use them again.

Everything went great!! This was my second time using them as I couldn't have been happier the last time they were here. John and his team provided great work once again, and I will definitely be coming back to them in the future.

This is the 2nd time we've used this company and both times, all went well and the trees look beautiful.

really fine -- good bid-- -- trimmed well, cleaned up completely. -- did not break anything, except a corner of a stairs, then he came back to fix it.

John was fantastic. When he came out to give me the estimate he was very informative. He let me know what we had trimmed improperly, how long it had been since our trees had been trimmed, and how often they would need to be trimmed. As a new homeowner that information was very helpful. He and his crew showed up on time. The crew took one lunch break on site (they brought lunch). They were efficient and respectful. They cleaned up everything, cut some of the eucalyptus into fire wood for me, and accommodated my neighbor who wanted to salvage some of the palm fawns for an Easter production. The stump grinder machine accidentally hit the wall of my garage and damaged the stucco. John repaired the damage in a timely manner at no additional cost. He even matched the paint since I didn't have any. Thanks for a great job. Sorry it took me a while to post this.

John Colizzi, the owner was a delight to deal with. Every detail was mapped out and made clear. It was a huge project - a huge tree with an approximate tree trunk diameter of over 6 feet. I could not ask for a better working crew that John provided. They were neat and cleaned up extremely well. A very hard working crew. I would be more than willing to recommend them for any tree removal or any tree service. Thank you.

John was very helpful removing a tree and some bushes that were breaking a retaining wall. He explained the entire process to me. His work was good and his price was fair.

John responded to my call promptly, we scheduled a time for him to come out and he was punctual and polite. He seemed very knowledgable about the care and maintenance of trees and informed me that it was not the best time of year for trimming a few of my trees but if I wanted to go ahead he would do a "light" manicuring. I decided to go ahead and scheduled for a service day. John came out with his crew, Jon, Juan & Roberto and introduced me to all of them. We walked the yard as John explained to them what to do. They were as well very professional and polite. As the trimming progressed, I found them to be very meticulous as to what & where to cut for best esthetics as well as health of the trees. They were very open to my suggestions and questions about the trimming, which I appreciated. Besides John, Juan seemed to be especially knowledgable about tree care and made some suggestions to me about removing decorative rocks and bark from the roots of my trees for oxygen and sunlight. I greatly appreciated that advise and have taken it. My trees look fantastic and I am very pleased with the work they all did. I will definitely refer them and use them again! Thanks John!

.John was very responsive and polite and came over to check out a tree I have whose large branch had fallen in my yard. I was very happy with the service. He checked out the tree ( I didn't have to be there with him) He gave me a price of $700.00 which I thought was fair because the tree needed major work and hadn't ever been trimmed. (the tree is 26 years old). We scheduled the trimming for Monday or Tuesday. He was able to do It on Monday and when I came home it was all done. A major trim (the tree looks great now) and everything cleaned up like it had never happened. Kudos to John and his crew. He picked up my check the next day and he was as nice in person as he was on the phone. I have many other trees on my property and I would definitely use Best Care Tree Service Again.

Although John was hesitant to take on the job at the beginning, he came right over for an estimate once he found out that there were enough work at my property, and was very punctual and efficient from there on. He gave me a really good deal too. The clean-up could have been a bit more thorough, but the overall experience was very good.

Fantastic customer service via phone each and every time we talked during the planning stages. The crew arrived on time and maintained an absolutely professional manner throughout the entire time they were here. Our windows were protected with plywood as extra precaution which no other company had even suggested to us. John used a laser to show both us and his crew exactly where the major cuts were to be made so that we were sure to be in full agreement with everything before any cutting began. He also checked in with us as progress was made to ensure we were comfortable with the direction his crew was taking. While they were a bit pricier than two other bids we received, in the end, it was John's informative conversations and willingness to work with us on our plans for the tree itself which won us over. Overall, the tree looks great and we are pleased with our choice in hiring Best Care Tree Service for this job!

John came out to my house to give an estimate on trimming my trees. Unfortunately, when he arrived he realized that my street was to narrow for his crew to safely park their trucks. Apparently they have bigger trucks then other companies. Even though John had to pass on the job due to logistics, he was nice enough to walk through my garden with me and tell me what he would have charged so that I would have something to compare my other bids to. John even offered to answer any future questions I might have dealing with other companies. He told me that his company is on the expensive side... And yes it was expensive to trim my eucalyptus trees but they are huge at the bottom of a hill with no access and surrounded by power lines & structures! I thought that the prices he quoted on my other trees were very fair! I am so bummed that I cannot use Best Care Tree Service .... They really need smaller trucks ;)

They were fabuluous...on time, really knew their stuff, worked hard for 3 days, totally cleaned up, were so courteous & they explained everything they did (I really love these trees so I worried a little)! They arrived promptly at 7 am, told me what they had planned, took down my white-tent carport, moved all my plants, fountains, yard furniture...everything....(AND, when they finished, they put it all back just right), set up their truck & shredder in front of my house, and got right to work. Oh, they covered my roof with big plywood sheets so my roof was completely protected.... Amazing! All in all, they were probably the best workers I have ever had here at my home! HIRE THESE GUYS!! John, the owner and his crew are really top notch! You will be very happy!!!...(P.S. At first I only wanted a crew with a 'cherry-picker' truck with the big arm that takes trimmers up high, but John assured me that his climbers used their ropes to lower all heavy branches....and he was right! They used mountain climber's ropes and were so skilled at cutting and dropping those large pieces of trunk & branches that they never were dangerous!!)

Very quick to respond to my call, come out for an estimate and schedule the work. They were ON TIME, ON BUDGET and cleaned up after they were finished. Loved them

He gave a rough estimate for the job based on digital photos I took and emailed to him. I question if a good estimate can be made based on photos only. His estimate was at least $500 more then another so I passed on him.

I had several contractors come out and give me an estimate on removing my neighbors tree that was lifting up my side walk and front porch. John came out and gave me an estimate and also told for any contractor I used to make sure that they had a license, workmen's comp. and liability insurance. None of the other contractors really addressed this issue so I was really happy with John for explaining this to me. He also told me because the tree was on my neighbors property I should get a note from her saying it was OK that I had this tree removed. We set up an appointment and John and his crew were very prompt and John again addressed the problem because the gas line was so close to the tree he told me to contract the gas company and have them mark where the gas line was before they were to remove the stump. Well needless to say the gas line was running right through the stump and because the tree is over 50 yrs old the possibility of the gas line may not be accurate we desided to cut it as low and he could. John didn't charge me the full amount and said when I removed the sidewalk they would come out and grind the roots under the sidewalk for me. I was very happy with the out come and will call John in the future. His crew was excellent cleaned up and just a pleasure to work with.

We returned to Best Care Tree Service 2.5 years after our first experience, which was excellent. The conditions were quite different. The drought and water rationing conditions in California changed the landscape and the strategy for the care of our trees. during his site visit to prepare an estimate, he provided advice on changes to our watering allocations and regular maintenance routines to maintain the health of the trees during this stressful period. After verifying that all Insurance and Workers Comp Certificates were in order, we authorized the work to begin. On the day the work was conducted, John's crew showed up promptly, carefully trimmed the trees, removed the debris from the hillside and yard, and hauled the chipped branches to a disposal site. The attitude of the working crew was positive and very accommodating, carefully avoiding any damage to flowers and bushes growing in the flower beds surrounding the yard. This work went very smoothly, and I continue to happily recommend Best Care Tree Service. We look forward to working with them again.

Initially we wanted to have a large, tall cedar cut back/trimmed as it blocks late P.M sun & also 2 overgrown & unruly Eucalyptus trees. I had emailed inquiry and couple of pictures but did not hear anything (later John advised it had gone to spam). My husband followed up with a phone call and arranged to walk the property with the owner, John, early Saturday morning, 9-15-12. When husband advised me of costs and increased scope, ALL of our trees, was pretty surprised & skeptical as I knew they had some trimming prior to our move in November 2011 and I didn't think they needed it. However, once John showed me how some had been incorrectly cut, I understood they did seriously need help. He & his crew arrived early Tuesday morning and worked for 3 full days. We live on a hill so they were unable to bring their truck with chipper up so the guys had to drag huge branches down to street. We gave the supervisor, (who BTW was great & cute) an additional $500 tip to share with his crew as they were so careful with other plants and property and making sure everything was cleaned up everyday. They also cleaned up debris in 3 neighbors yards caused by Chinese Elms. John's initial quote did not include the 2 cedar trees so as his mistake, he agreed to do them both for almost 1/2 off. These trees will be trimmed in December, at which time I will pay $750. Gave a B to price, though I have no knowledge concerning market price for this service and we did not get any other bid. He gave us a good discount due to payment method. Finally, as part of service, he calendars a follow-up every year to assess health and advise recommendations.

Overall the experience was great. John was willing to negotiate after meeting with several other companies for estimates. John was able to adjust his schedule to accommodate us on the day we preferred for the work to get done. Him and his team arrived at 7am on the dot as he said he would. John was accompanied by his team of 5, lead by Mike, along with Mark, John, Roberto, and Juan. John had to be on hand at another job, but in no way were we worried as Mike and team were extremely capable and obviously had a great system in place. The yard turned out better than we imagined and the clean up was ongoing throughout the day and systematic. John checked in with us later in the day to ensure everything was going as planned. I will definately be using John and his team again for future projects.

The person who came down to give me an estimate gave me a break down on the price and I liked that. One other things that I really appreciated is that he was more honest than a lot of other people who gave me the estimate. My overall experience with him was excellent.

I called John and set up an appointment to discuss the scope of work. He arrived on time and was pleasant and knowledgeable. When we had reviewed the sycamores, pines, fruit and other trees that needed attention he put together the estimate and included the Angie's List 20% discount without being asked. We agreed to wait for the weather to cool a bit (it was about 95 degrees F when he came for the estimate) before scheduling a work date. John called early this week to let me know that they had an available day this week and it worked for us as well. John and the crew showed up about 7:15 am and met me for a quick introduction and walk through. By 7:45 the guys were loaded into the back yard and starting work. Roberto & Juan performed the aerial acrobatics while Mark & his partner performed the ground work. By 2:30 pm, 3 large Sycamores and 3 large pine trees had received major pruning (I definitely waited too long to call!) and three other trees had received trimming and cleaning up. Two dead/dying trees were completely removed. The brush and debris was all cleaned up and the yard looked great. I couldn't be more pleased with the work that was performed.
