Every step went well. John was punctual and provided a detailed estimate of what was initially planned as 2 days of work (one day for the back yard and driveway and one day for the pecan tree). His crew always arrived on time. They were polite and friendly and thoroughly professional. They were careful and meticulous in their work and the cleanup was also excellent. The neighbor's roof is relatively fragile clay tile which the workers did not want to walk on, so the work was done instead by roping the limbs, then cutting and lowering them onto my roof (from which they were offloaded down to the ground). No branches were dropped onto the neighbor's roof, and no branches were dropped onto the solar panels which cover half of my roof. All in all a perfect job, and this was over 3 days in which the temperature was probably 100-107 degrees. I would definitely recommend these guys.

John responded to my call for an estimate immediately. He was professional and knew his trees. While looking at our trees, he noticed that my citrus trees had an infestation. So we not only had him prune many of our trees but he also helped get them back on the road to heath. His crew was exemplary. They did a terrific job and cleaned up all the trimmings in my yard and my neighbor's. I would recommend them to anyone.

I was not very happy with that man. I called him because I wanted him to come out and look at my dead tree that needs to be removed. He asked me to take pictures of the tree. With a cell phone camera you can’t get a good picture of a tree that is 25-30 feet high. I emailed him the pictures and I waited two days. I finally called him and asked him if he was going to come out or give me an estimate. He said he was just going to call me. He said he wouldn’t come out to do anything for less than $1,200. He told me that was the minimum he would charge me and it might be more than that when he got out there to see what the job was. Then he said he really wasn’t interested in the job and he thanked me for wasting his time. He told me that if I could get someone out for less than $1,200 to go ahead. I was really upset. Not only that but I had to track him down. We didn’t even get to the point where he came out. The location of the tree dictated that the roots of the tree had to be hand dug and they couldn’t use their machinery. There’s a narrow path to it and it’s near my koi pond. That’s when he said he wasn’t interested. He was very unprofessional; that’s just not how I do business.

The whole experience was great from start to finish. John was quick to respond to my call. He was out of town at the time and asked me to take pictures of the trees so he could see what needed to be done. He got right back to me and gave me an approximate quote ($75.00 - $100.00 per tree). I let him know that we were getting other quotes and would get back to him. After all the quotes we chose John because his price was the best and I felt very confortable with him. On the day John called to let me know that he was feeling ill and would not be at the job site but assured me that his guys are more than able to handle the job. The guys arrived and were awesome! So polite and nice. They asked me what I wanted done with the palms and then cut one and asked me to check and see if that was what I wanted. It was exactly what I wanted. The palms have never looked so good. The last people that cut them left all the brown fuzzy stuff on the palms and looked awful. John's guys let me know that they would never leave a tree like that unless someone asked. Overall the guys were great! The whole experience was great! I will definitely use them again. I am so happy that I have finaly found a tree person that I can trust.

Our large ash tree grows very fast and is hard to manage. I had it trimmed by a company that was going door to door about a year and a half ago but was not real happy with the way it looked. Every time we have Santa Ana winds I am afraid that a limb will break off and damage the house or end up in one of my neighbors yards so i decided to bite the bullet and get it trimmed again.I called several tree trimmers that had left their cards on my door step and just didn't feel like they were the right people to hire. Some of the companies did not even call me back and one did not show up to give me an estimate after I waited all afternoon for him.That is when I decided to look at Angie's list. After looking at a few of the tree trimming companies and reading the reviews I decided to call Best Care Tree Service. I left a message and within the hour John, the owner, got back to me. We set up an appointment and he showed up right on time. When John looked at my tree he proceeded to explain all the characteristics of my tree type and pointed out much of the tree's history just by looking at the tree shape and how it had been cut in the past. He next explained how he would restore my tree to it's correct shape and how he would improve the overall health of my tree. When he gave me his price it was very competitive and it was evident to me that he was a true professional so it was an easy decision to go with him. Once hired he planned how he would remove the limbs and trimmings from my back yard and took care to make sure that he would have a path that would not damage my house or back yard furniture.When the morning came to do the job he and his crew were right on time again. They pulled up with his truck and chipper, and John had a written contract that stated what would be done for the price we had discussed. His crew got right to work and were all courteous and friendly. They did an excellent job on my tree and left my yard clean and tidy. They thanked me for the work and were on their way way in a few short hours.I was so pleased with the job done that I am setting up a schedule to have them back in one year. I will also have them do my other trees when they are ready to be trimmed.

The work went well and Roberto the climber had an excellent eye for the amount of limbs and leaves to leave on the tree and the symetry of the tree after the work is done. Clean up was efficient and thorough. Overall it was a good experience. The work took much less time than estimated which may mean the price was a little high. However, the work product is excellent.

John worked our small job into his schedule quickly. Showed up as promised and did a good job. Cleaned up carefully.

I was concerned that cutting the root would hurt the tree, so I emailed John to ask for his insight. He was responded quickly and was very helpful. He even told me that the best time to have this particular tree trimmed would be in the winter (six months from now). I was impressed by both his professionalism and his kindness.

Needed almost every tree in my yard trimmed as they were all gettling wildly overgrown and top heavy.John came over and walked though the yard with me while I told him what I wanted done. By the next day I had a detailed estimate breaking down the cost for each tree plus a total with a discount if I did them all at one time.His team were on time, very friendly, were very careful of surrounding plants and did an amazing clean up after they werefinished. The trees all look great. I plan on using them again this winter to get my pine trees done. Highly recommend them.

Our Eucalyptus trees were extremely overgrown and had not been cut in more than a few years. We were so happy to find John and his very capable crew. John's response time was great. He came out and was straightforward regarding cost and gave us a good education on how they would be trimming the trees. He fit us into his already very busy schedule. His crew was very knowledgeable and professional. They were polite and friendly. They protected my garden while trimming (very important). They were immaculate cleaning up as well. I am so grateful we were able to get this taken care of so quickly and feel so much safer without heavy trees hanging overhead while I am in my backyard. The trees look so beautiful now and are going to grow in a much healthier way thanks to Best Care Tree Service.

John and crew arrived promptly as per our agreement. There were six men working, they trimmed my oaks, sycamore, carrotwood and another huge tree - the trees look great- They had a mulcher with them so they were able to mulch all the debris right then and there- they had two truckloads! they measured all the trees around the house to make sure they were all met the Fire Departments rules about 5 foot vertical clearance

Most of our Chinese elms had not been trimmed in at least seven years and we had several Eucalyptus trees that had never been touched. They were extremely top heavy and dangerous and we were afraid we would have to cut them down. John came over within a day of my calling him and gave me a very specific estimate. He started work the next week and they did a very thorough job, which turned out to be much more intense than any of us had thought. His crew were really nice to deal, they tried very hard to protect the existing plants but because of the scope of the work there was some damage, which John had warned me about before they started work. If I was to do this again, I would definitely remove some of the more fragile plants and replant them after the work was done. I also had a very overgrown Bird Of Paradise tree that they cleaned up beautifully, revealing stunning bark underneath. It was John's idea and he included it free of charge since it was such a large job. The whole job was pricey, more than I had anticipated paying, but once I saw how much work was involved I think it was definitely fair and worth it.

Rain delayed the work, but when they got there the work was excellent. I was happy and my neighbors were also treated respectfully. When trimming trees neighbors are impacted. Their yard was free of debris as was mine when they left.

I saw they were top ranked on Angies List, so I gave them a call. John, the owner I believe, answered and I told him what I needed. He asked if I was able to take a few pics of the tree and email them to him to look at and he'd call me right back and give me an estimate. He called me right back within about 15 minutes and we set up an appointment for them to come out and take care of it 2 days later. We live in a tight congested neighborhood with not a lot of room on our small streets for their big truck, but they were able to expertly maneuver their truck and wood chipper into our driveway. John showed up with his crew to start them off, then once we squared away everything, his crew took over and John left. The crew was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. It was a very large tree and it took them most of the day to finish. The tree sits in the corner of our lot and branches out into our neighbors lots, so the crew even went to our neighbors house to let them know what was going on and to assure them they'd clean up any debris that landed in their yards, which they did. It was a lot of work and they did a great job clearing it out. The only thing I wish was that they could've been a little more aesthetic in thinning out the tree, but that's just a minor quibble. What really sucked for us (which had nothing to do with this company) is that the neighbors behind us haven't moved in yet and completely tore down the home that used to be there and cleared their lot and coincidentally had also hired a tree trimming crew (without our knowledge) to come in and hack away the limbs of our tree that extended over into their property that same day. So after our crew spent their time trimming the back half of our tree down and thinning it out, this far less professional crew came in after they were done and just hacked the back half of our tree up. Best Care Tree Service was still here while they did it, cleaning up our property and had just about finished the cleanup when this other crew came in littering our yard with sawdust from their chainsaw after hacking down the big limbs. Best Care Tree's crew was kind enough to wait a little longer til these hacks were done and then used their own blower to clean up our yard again from the other crew's mess. Very nice of them and it wasn't even their responsibility! I would definitely use them again, and highly recommend them to anyone else!!

As professional as they come. John and his team were responsive, courteous, and professional. They completed the task of controlling several fichus trees that grew out of control over the years to our desired specification. John, Mike, Marc, and Roberto checked in with us every step of the way to make sure that were completely satisfied with the job. We are very grateful for John and his crew, but also very happy that we decided to go with Best Care Tree Service.

Robert and his crew were awesome. They showed up on time, we confirmed the work to be done and they got right to it. I got some great advice on the future care of my trees. My trees look happy and and I will be calling Best Care back in the fall to complete the work on my fruiting trees.

They were prompt. Their prices were reasonable. It was a good service. The results were great.

John was very professional. We initially got an estimate for a large cedar tree trim job during the Summer but he suggested that we wait until the winter since it would be healthier for the tree. The job was very well done and we are happy with the work.

The December 1 windstorm that struck the San Gabriel Valley pretty severely brought down two huge eucalyptus trees on our property. The trees lay across the property completely covering the backyard and blocking access to the rear of the property. One of the trees lay across the top of a guest house with the top of the tree reaching halfway across our neighbor's property. We started calling tree services immediately and encountered busy signals and phone services. We never heard back from any of these services, even after power was restored, but that's another matter. When power in our area was restored I checked Angie's List and found amongst others Best Care. I called and left a message, and John returned my call almost immediately and scheduled a visit to our property the next day. On Sunday morning we crawled our way as best we could to the back of the property to survey the job. He offered to write up a bid immediately and start work the next day. After living in an environment that was like the cataclysmic aftermath a natural disaster, we were very grateful not only to have Best Care come out so promptly, but because John was the first to understand and acknowledge the scale of the job and destruction. I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of his motivation was because this was no ordinary job. It was a huge job. Two eucalyptus trees each over 80 feet tall lay forming a V across the property. One pointed southwest with part resting on a shed the tops resting on the crotch of an oak tree--sadly fatally damaged. The other lay across the top of a partially crushed guest house pointing southeast and extending over a crushed wooden fence and reaching twenty feet onto the property of our neighbor to the south. At their bases the trees were four to five feet in diameter. For five days, John's crew worked diligently cutting and hauling away tree branches and bits of tree trunk. The placement of the trees and the layout of the properties made use of crane impossible, so his crew had to cut the trunks up into small pieces and haul them some 50 yards to the street. It was back-breaking work and I don't exaggerate when I say that it was heroic work as well. In short, John and his crew worked admirably and effectively. They arrived on time each day, they were respectful and amiable despite the difficult working conditions, they kept themselves and others safe (no small feat given the job), and each day they left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. I think the job turned out to be bigger and more difficult than originally anticipated (I can't recall how many chains were broken during this job but it was more than one), but John never wavered from his original estimate. All in all, it was a heartening experience to encounter honest, honorable professionals who care about doing their best.

The 3 man team arrived right on time and we spoke about what we wanted and needed on the trees. They got started and worked all day. They even picked the avocados off cut branches and put them in boxes for us. They were all really nice guys. When they finished everything was cleaned, couldn't tell the had been there except that the trees looked amazing.

I normally wouldn't comment on a supplier that didn't actually do work, but in this case, I thought it was warranted. I called Best Care based on the number of positive reviews and immediately got a hold of John. I explained my need - to remove three tree stumps - and he told me his machines were in the shop, but to call another company (also on Angie's List) that he has a good working relationship with. This is what got me to write a review - he could have stalled, made excuses, or tried to find some other way to keep my business, but instead he tried to solve my problem, even though it meant potentially giving work to a competing (albeit friendly) firm. This is the type of professionalism I have come to expect, and John earned my respect today for offering to do that, and I will certainly reach out to him when I need these types of services in the future.

John's guys did a great job. The trees look fantastic. They were prompt, listened to my input and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. I will definitely use them again.

Best Care just trimmed three large trees in my backyard and did a terrific job. The trees are nicely thinned out but retained their shape and still look nice. The three tree-trimmers were polite and did a great job cleaning up the backyard after they were finished. I got a phone call the day before confirming my appointment. I was very pleased with the experience and will definitely be using them again.

This crew was prompt, fast, and left my yard as they found it. There were no trampled plants or mess left behind for me to clean up. They did a fabulous job and were exceptionally nice and polite. I would not hesitate to hire them again and have already recommended them to friends.

I contacted the owner, John Colizzi, last summer to get a proposal and a bid. He came out the next day, surveyed the work to be done and emailed a complete proposal to me later in the day . I liked John and felt that the bid was fairly priced. John and his crew just finished today what turned out to be a three day job. I found John and his crew to be knowledgeable about the different trees on my property and in the way each needed to be trimmed. The crew was conscientious about their work and daily cleanup on my property. They were proactive in their interaction with my neighbors and were diligent about cleaning up spillover to adjacent properties. I wholeheartedly recommend John and his crew to members of Angie?s List, and will surely call him again in 5-7 years when the trees need to be trimmed again.
