Patio Warehouse did great job for my patio cover. Jeff responded to my phone call very fast and came on time for the appointment for estimation. Basically everything went through very smooth. The crew is very professional. They listen to you and do their best to have the job done as the way we liked. My patio needs more stucco touch up then they usually do and they did it without adding extra charge.

We enjoy our new patio cover very much.

The owner came to my house to measure, design and quote my job. He followed up promptly and answered all of my questions. Once we decided to move forward, a project manager was assigned to my job. She proceeded to work with my HOA and collect the required signatures to do the project. The permit was obtained. I was kept updated via phone and email. Once everything was in place, the installation was scheduled. I had another project planned so Patio Warehouse installed the patio cover on a Sunday! They even installed some lights that I had purchased, electrical hookup and all. I am very pleased with the appearance and quality of their work and it fits right in with my BBQ island. I would highly recommend Patio Warehouse!

I liked everything about them.  I was surprised with one of the reviewers who didn’t give them a good review at all and said they weren’t on time.  I found that not to be the case with me.  The only thing I will say is they were going to start on Friday, but they didn’t until Saturday.  I had to call them on Friday and realized they were tied up on something else, so they would come on Saturday.  I was fine with that because I had the weekend clear.  They finished the work by Sunday afternoon.  I am satisfied with the work they did.  They cleaned up.  I was impressed that the project manager stayed through the whole job the whole weekend.

Well, I never expected my first review on Angie?s List would be a negative one.  I suppose this experience prodded me into writing about it.

From the great ratings here on Angie?s List I called Patio Warehouse and left a message. Jeff, one of the owners, called me back two days before Memorial Day weekend 2011 and we set up an appointment for the following Thursday at 9:00am. Today is the day of the appointment and nobody showed up and nobody called. I called the office and spoke to Sarah, who is lovely on the phone, and she said she'd try to get to the bottom of it because there was no appointment with me on the books. Soon after that I received a call from Jared, the other owner, and he said he knew nothing about it, would call Jeff and would call me right back. That was at 11:00am. At 1:00pm I still had not received a call from Jeff or Jared. I called Sarah back at the office and she told me that Jared had spoken with Jeff, that Jeff totally dropped the ball and Jared was supposed to call me and take care of it.

Sarah went on to explain that they are extremely busy and even though they have done work in my area it would be too far to travel and they would have to charge me too much to make the job worth it.  She also said she believed that Jeff decided this over the weekend and I just got lost in the shuffle.  She then said I?m probably lucky this happened and this way I can find somebody more local to really take care of me.  She apologized for Jeff and Jared, said she felt terrible and embarrassed about how I was treated and how this was handled.  She also was surprised they would do this with someone who might write a review.

Sure, I get it, I?m small potatoes or inconvenient, but whatever the reason this isn?t how you treat a potential customer with friends all over Orange County and Southern California.  They absolutely found my time was worth nothing and let me sit here stewing all day wondering if they?d be able to come.  If you end up hiring them just be aware that this is the lack of respect they had for me and the kind of customer service they find acceptable.

Does this sound like a company you want to hire?

The price that was quoted by Patio Warehouse Construction Company was good; however, I didn’t use them. I have a handyman friend who has already started the project for me. The person who came out from Patio Warehouse Construction Company was very friendly. He came out the next day I had called him. He was very responsive and professional. He was honest. He gave me very detailed information on the work. I was very satisfied with the company. The job is already underway so I don’t think I’ll contact them again.

I have an upper level deck of travertine, off my master bedroom, that is growing mushrooms out the bottom plywood, so obviously it is wet and needs to be replaced. I had decided on an Azek deck before calling Patio Warehouse (Jeff Shore) and only wanted the deck itself replaced, as the supporting joists, and railings with glass walls, are in excellent condition. I had already seen three contractors before calling, but since Patio Warehouse has experience with Azek materials, I wanted to get his bid. ...I honestly felt like Jeff Shore was a "Used Car Salesman". He wasn't listening to what I needed, but only what he wanted to sell me. I told him twice that I didn't need to replace the glass wall or railings on the deck. I didn't want to paint my support columns, either. To his credit, he did draw up his bid, at my house, but his price was close to DOUBLE what my other bids were, i.e. $14,124 vs about $7,270! When I told him it was double my other bids, he started the "used car salesman" tactics, and started cutting prices in half. At this point, I was done with him. I don't need a contractor to play those games with me! His final price was still $1,500 more than the contractor I chose to replace my deck. Update: I am at a loss as to the response from Patio Warehouse. Do you even have the right house? My house is only 17 years old to begin with so there's no way I had 30 year old joists. They joists were uncovered by my contractor when he removed the old deck and before he put down the Azek planks. They were in perfect condition. I have photos to prove it. Also, Patio Warehouse gave me a bid. There was no case of them unwilling to take on this project.
Response from Patio Warehouse Inc

"Patio Warehouse was unwilling to take this project because the customer was wanting to build the job on very unsafe conditions. She was wanting to install brand new Azek decking boards on 30 year old wood joists which were dry rotting. Patio Warehouse always builds to the highest quality and adheres to a strict safety policy. If other companies want to build out of code that is up to them."

Our experience with Patio Warehouse Construction was a pleasure from start to finish. We were told when we agreed to the project that they would not be able to start for about three weeks. That was fine with us. When the day came, the very professional workers arrived, removed the wood patio cover, replaced it with the aluminum one, ran electrical for lights on three posts, installed the lights, and cleaned up....all in 7 hours! Amazing! We love our new patio cover!

It was a hardscaping job. They quoted about $8000 for one job. They were the ones I liked on the first impression. It was not him but his partner who came out to give me a quote. He was here on time. He was pretty quite. He took the measurements quickly. He e-mailed the quote. I had to wait for it. The communication has been very basic but it is fine. We have not hired anybody yet and did not need the communication. He was responsive to my questions. I am considering using them.

We had looked at several companies and these guys were in the middle of the pack in terms of price, but we went with them because they were willing to work with us and they subcontracted a crew that did the stamped concrete that we wanted. One person was in charge of the whole thing, so if something wasn't right, I knew who to turn to which is a reason why we went with this company. They were very attentive to what we wanted. As with most projects, it escalated as we went, but the company was true to its bid. The only difficulty we really had was the starting date: they wanted to start but we were out of town and we didn't want them to work on the house while we were gone. The crew was completely professional and cordial, and they were aware that they were working all over our backyard. They came and went quickly and didn't spend forever on the project. When I called the manager of the job, he would get back to me immediately and he would answer my questions.
