Service was good on the front yard, but trees in the back yard they hardly touched and yet charged me $350 - seems awfully high for what they did. To be sure the trees in the front yard look great and they did a very nice job on them. I just wish they would have reduced my price when they realized there was so little to do on the back yard trees. I will have to compare pricing better the next time I need my trees trimmed and I may or may not use Gruett again.

They were very professional and accomodatting to us. They were easy to work with, very quick and thorough. Due to the weather, I presume, the appointment time kept changing. But we would absolutely use them again and refer them to others.

The pine was the biggest concern as Santa Anas had knocked a lot of trees over that month in Pasadena. Up to this piont we had had our trees trimmed by the same person for 25 years. Although he did a good job I think the size of things were getting a little overwhelming. The pine had been lion-tailed so there was a lot of weight on the ends on the branches. I got five quotes for the job- and Gruett was right on the money as far as cost. A rep who came to bid on the job from a different company said Gruett was a company that did good work so that sealed the deal for me. I watched while they did the trimming- no spikes used and an artistic job when completed. It's a huge difference from other hack jobs I've seen done on neighbor's trees. Cleanup was spotless. The blight that was on the pear is gone and is now disease-free. Support is also first-rate. I had some sprinklers put in and one of the idiots cut through a pretty good-sized root on the pine to lay pipe. I called Gruett for advice and talked to an arborist who pulled up a file on my tree! After looking at the picture of the tree and asking about the cut etc, she gave me advice on symptoms to watch out for if any harm had been done. Fortunately, everything was OK but it impressed me that these people care about their business and field of expertise. It seems like the staff is pretty well qualified as they made a point about continuing training for trimmers, etc.

They said that I had too much water, so one of the service techs adjusted my sprinklers. However, he changed it to put out MORE water. When I called them about this, they denied that was had happened. I really had to push back to get them to come back out and correct it. They did, and found that they had set the sprinkler incorrectly to water more. It shouldn't have been as difficult as it was to get them to come back and correct things. I won't be hiring them for further work.

I ended up getting three quotes and based on what they told me and explained to me that they were going to need to do, I wound up not going with them. There wasn't a big difference in the quotes that I got. I actually went with another company that actually took the time to explain to me what they were going to need to do. They basically came out and looked and said it would be so much and then they left. They came on a Friday evening around 6:30. Overall it was fine. They were quick and had the quote to me within 2 days in an email. They were professional. I would consider using them in the future.

Their price was similar to other quotes I had gotten. Their follow up was great.

The experience was fine. They were on time and professional. They were informed. I spoke to an arborist over the phone and she was very specific about my area. She was obviously knowledgeable about the trees in the area. I didn't have any price comparison so I don't know if the $2,500 was too much or too little. I would consider using them.

Fantastic experience - the best yet of the 3 or 4 I've tried. They were prompt, fair price and don't use spikes! This is much better for the tree, and extremely important if you recently bought a home where the previous owner was smart enough to ensure spikes weren't used. I wish I had known this when the first Company I used years ago came out and used spikes (on what I think was an otherwise very clean tree). The staff on the phone was great, and while i wasn't hear for the servicing, my request to have them trimmed tight was followed to a tee. Clearly Gruett has intracompany communication working great.

had to go somewhere and things were starting later than I thought, but they came, cut, and cleaned in about 70min!! They removed the plum tree nicely, cleaned up my yard like they were never there/ and also anything that fell into the neighbors side. They wore their protective gear , worked fast and well. MY gardener who loves tree and plants came and said he was surprised at how well our tree was cleaned up because people often cut too much or just wrong on these types of trees. (a death in the family didn't give him the time to do it) Extra Extra They even pulled out another dead bush for me without even asking for a dime. It took them about 5min, even though they had to run to another job. Nice Guys and easy to communicate with. They know how to cut a tree in a healthy way.

This company is fantastic! From the office personnel who are friendly and helpful to the service personnel who did an excellent job, I couldn't ask for a better company to do business with. They came on time and did what I thought would take a couple of hours in only 1/2 hour. This was because there was a supervisor and a crew of six. The right people came with the right equipment and knew exactly what they were supposed to do. The supervisor went over the requested services before beginning to make sure everything was correct, then checked when they were done to make sure it was all done as I wanted it. At one point, a worker stepped on and broke a sprinkler head. However, they fixed it immediately and made sure it was working correctly. They removed several tree stumps, a couple of trees, and a lot of roots. They were careful not to break any water lines. I highly recommend this company!

I have had a very positive experience. They are prompt and professional. They are a little pricey but they have a good reputation. I would recommend their services.

They were very professional and did a very good job. They are licensed arborists' and are also fully insured.

They do a really great job. The trees have been here for many years and they have tremendous curb appeal and value to our house. I really want them to be taken care properly because if they weren't there, our house would not have been as nice looking as it is. They have just done a fabulous job of keeping these trees healthy and nice looking. The trees have grown and I am afraid that they are tall enough to where they are in danger of blowing over and so Gruett keeps them nice and trim properly without damaging them so that they can survive the winds. They cleaned up perfectly after finishing the work. There was only a wig or twig left on the ground. Well beforehand they send you a contract with the exact pricing and pictures of things to confirm that those are the work to be done and all the insurance information. We think they are just highly professional and I don't think you get that kind of professionalism and I appreciate that.

They were able to have an estimator out the day after I called in. He took pictures of both trees, and also advised me on the health of my orange tree. He didn?t provide an onsite estimate, but they emailed one to me the next day as promised. We scheduled a mutually beneficial day for the work to be done. They confirmed the day before and the workers showed up within the time window they set. They had a crew of four workers and the work was completed in a timely manner. The trees looked great and the workers cleaned up afterwards. I will use them again.

I have used this company in the past to trim and lace my trees. This job was more evolved since I wanted to remove parts of my root damaged concrete patio and stop the roots from creating further damage w/o loosing the trees. Jeff and I spend over an hour discussing possible options before agreeing on the direction we wanted to go. After receiving the estimate, we scheduled the job. The workers showed up on time, completed the work as agreed and cleaned up the area before leaving. I will continue using this company.
