I purchased a Fall system tune-up special on Angie's List that was a great deal. I had used Thompson before and was very satisfied with their service. Adam did a thorough job and I wouldn't hesitate to call Thompson again.

Jamison arrived in the morning, as scheduled and examined clogged pipe. He attempted to aug it, but discovered what he thought was an underground pipe separation. He said he would schedule the underground camera for the same afternoon to better diagnose the extent of the problem. Andy C. arrived promptly and proceeded to find the suspected PVC pipe separation. He dug to the break site and found the separation and about six feet of tangled roots that had invaded the pipeline and clogged it up. Andy went to a nearby hardware store for a piece of PVC pipe to replace the broken section. He replaced the pipe, sealed it, and replaced the landscaping so you can barely tell it was disturbed. All the time, Andy advised me as to what he was doing. He was a very professional, efficient and courteous young man and he represented Thompson very well. We wouldn't hesitate to call Thompson Plumbing in the future and to recommend them to others.

The main house drain had periodic issues with backing up through the cellar floor drain. This was attributable to an intrusion of tree roots migrating through open joints in the original clay pipe system. Thompson came out the same day I called to get the drain cleared. From there, I was given the option to pay for the cleaning, or consider the investment needed to solve the problem of continual, periodic need for service calls. After considering the necessary finances required for such a decision, I opted to have a more permanent solution applied to the problem-drain. Thompson offers a unique resolution to this problem: a "re-sleeveing" of the inner diameter of the existing wastewater pipe with a Polyester-resin material. Because the space surrounding the existing drain clean-out was very limited, Thomson made the decision to access the drain pipe through an adjacent toilet hook-up. A four-by-four foot section of the basement floor was removed under the toilet. Specialized machinery installed the sleeve into the exposed drain pipe. When the sleeve installation was complete, Thompson filled the hole and resurfaced the basement floor and installed a new toilet. Minimal damage to adjacent woodwork and walls was incurred as a result of this major undertaking. At my option, a new water heater was also installed. I had rented a nearby Hotel room for two consecutive nights to ensure an uninterrupted access to shower and toilet facilities. Because of the dedication and professionalism of Thompson staffers Craig T., Justin P., and Dave C., the entire project was completed (except for the toilet installation) before 9:00 p.m. of the same evening. I didn't need hotel services for that night or for the next night, either. I also needed to replace the shutoffs for the washing machine. I didn't mention this before the service began. Dave C. offered to replace the two corroded shut-off valves for the washing machine in appreciation for my choosing Thompson. I could not be more satisfied with the services rendered, at any price.

Everything went extremely well from start to finish. From Ken S. to the installers (John and Kyle) everything was taken care of in a very professional manner. This project was extremely expensive but I would rather have a company that can assist you 24/7 than someone else that ignores you. These guys are "keepers" and the company needs to recognize them for all of their hard work and expertise.

The Technician, Charlie Knapp, arrived promptly - after calling to confirm appointment and arrival time. Put on his protective "booties" and gave me clear estimates for the work needed. I added several tasks to the list that I did not mention when I made the appointment, but he didn't act surprised or inconvenienced at all. He proceeded to do the tasks without delays. The toilet needed a part that he didn't have in his truck, so he left for a while to get it. He apologized for the delay, which was very considerate and polite.He asked me to check his work and finished the paperwork quickly and efficiently. Charlie was absolutely polite and professional throughout. He did an excellent job.

On one of the hottest days of the summer our central air went out. I called Garett in the morning and he was at our house in East county from Escondido that afternoon exactly when he said he would be. He looked at the unit and fixed the problem all within 30 min. He was very professional and personable. I would call him again for any problems with our heating or air.

Contacted Garett Baird about 9:30 on a Saturday morning (record heat wave going on). Garett scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon 2pm. He was running early and called to ask if he could come earlier---YES! He arrived, very professional & quickly diagonised the problem and had our A/C back within minutes. He didn't push any unnecessary items. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and will be happy to pass on to friends! I asked for bids from 3 companies, including Thompson Heating and Air Conditioning, to add air conditioning to my home on August 20, 2012. One of those could not come to make his bid for 2 weeks. Another came and made a competitive bid, but could not install the unit for 2 weeks. Thompson's Garrett Baird came the next day, submitted a bid, and said he could begin work that week end. Thompson was highly rated on Angtie's List, so I accepted his bid, and he and another worker were at my house at 8:00 am Sunday morning, August 26. They completed the job about 3:00 p. m. that same afternoon, and made extra effort to place the tubing and electric line from the external unit into the house in an inconspicuous position. They were clean, neat, and efficient, and left no trash or dirt at or in our house. Garrett explained the operation of the new air conditioner when the installation was complete, and said that if we had questions or difficulty with its operation, to call him, and he would take care of it.. There have been no problems, and we have used the unit in the 3 weeks of unusually warm weather since. I would reccommend Thompson Heating and Air Conditioning without reservation to anyone considering installing air conditioning.

Excellent service I left Garett a voicemail this morning to see if he could come by tomorrow. Instead he said that he would make it down on his way home tonight. It was a simple fix (panel/safety switch on the unit) but I also had him check the refrigerant level in both units and both needed to be adjusted. He took care of both them quickly while explaining what could go wrong if they were left as is. He also gave recommendations for future work that was not done by the builder. .Our hot water heater rusted out and was completely ruined. It was late in the evening when we realized the issue and called the Thompson 24 hour help number. They were very responsive to our situation and dispatched a service technician within the hour. Within a few hours they manged to replace the water heater and also did water tests to identify other potential problems that could have caused additional damage to our plumbing. They also installed a whole house water filter, which is a fantastic unit, all in the same service call late at night. The Thompson team was very professional and the job quality was A+.

We needed a new furnace installed, but with the existing A/C unit and A/C coils. Garett came out and gave us an estimate for the work and gave us several different options (different types of furnaces at different prices). I did get other estimates from other companies and was blown away with how much cheaper Garett's estimate was. I don't always hire the cheapest bid for work on my home - I need to feel as though the vendor will do a quality job - but I was impressed with Garett from the start. He was punctual, smart, and patient with all of my questions. I also researched the furnaces from his bids and found them to be quality units as well - in one case a lot better quality than a bid I got from a different company for a lot more. I thought there must be some catch. Turns out that Thompson Heating and Air is just a smaller company without all the overhead of those big companies that you hear about on TV. No huge fleet of trucks, no TV ads to pay for, etc. One word of warning: it turns out most companies mark up the cost of permitting and 3rd party testing, but not Thompson. They actually show you their invoice tor these items and just charge you the actual amount. Since the reviews on Angie's List seemed so good for Thompson Heating and Air, and they checked out with BBB (something I always check), and since their estimate was so low, I decided to give them a shot. Boy, I'm so glad I did! Garett showed up on the day scheduled and installed everything perfectly. He even did a couple extra, but small things that were not part of the original bid, but didn't charge me any extra for them. Cleanup was very complete and I'm thrilled to have a new working machine. I'm so happy to have found my new HVAC company. We need to support companies like this one: small, hard-working, and honest! They often get out-competed by the bigger companies who do more advertising, but we're paying for all that! Thompson Heating and Air chooses to do the same quality work, but get their business by work-of-mouth and they pass that savings on to us. I will certainly be using this company again. You won't be disappointed!

The work was completed in just a couple of hours, for what I felt was a reasonable price, and I couldn't be more pleased. Everything is now safe and hooked-up well. The technician who came out also really got on my good side by being extra-careful to test these old gas-lines for soundness, just as a courtesy. Everything was fine with them, but I so appreciated that effort and concern for my home and family safety.
