They did a really great job! They explained and showed me everything. I was very pleased. The guys doing the work were awesome! They were even nice to my dog!

Work was performed professionally and they were able to come out earlier than originally estimated.

Service was excellent but did not receive the total 10% discount which this said would get up to a maximum discount of $500. My total changes before discount was $3,400. I received a total discount of $290 instead of the $340 I should have gotten. The first part of the job was $900 and I got the entire 10% discount. The 2nd part of the job was $2,500 but I was told a maximum discount of $200. I accepted as they did excellent work on the 1st job.

Mrs. Boyce called us right away after the package was purchased, which was a positive. However, he didn't show up on the date we arranged, and didn't call to let us know that he couldn't make it. We finally called him to ask what happened, and he then apologized and rescheduled. He then was about an hour late for the rescheduled time. After looking over our roof, he told us that he would send two men to do the repairs during the following week, but he didn't know what day they would come. He said we didn't need to be at home when they came to do the work. However, since they would be using our driveway for their truck, and would be blocking our ability to leave the garage, it would have been nice to know at least approximately when they would be at the house. The truck arrived on Tuesday morning, with just one person doing the work, and he did not speak English, and so I was unable to communicate well with him regarding my questions and concerns. I assume the job was done properly, but have no way of evaluating it.

Boyce called to tell me they were coming out the day they came, without letting me know in advance. Fortunately it was a day when I could be home. His crew was courteous and efficient. He stayed within his original estimate, but I felt highly pressured to do more work - with an estimate of $10,000 - and I had to say an emphatic "no" several times. I have had no roof issues since the agreed upon work was done, but don't disagree that additional work will eventually be needed on a thirty year old roof. I just don't like to be pressure to spend more than my budget allows.

The old roofs were removed and cleaned up same day. New plywood sheeting was installed on first building and termite damaged wood was removed and replaced. Underlayment and Timberline Ultra HD roofing was installed. On the second building the crew was dealing with 12/12 pitch (roof was very steep) and a beehive that was removed and placed in a bee box for honey production. There was very heavy copper water heating panels that had to be removed and they were removed and lowered without damage. The panels were inset into the roof and had caused extensive damage due to water leakage. The west side of the second roof had to nearly be completely rebuilt because of the bee removal and water heater panel damage. Inspite of difficult working conditions the work was completed in a timely and safe manner using safety harness on the very steep second building. I was expecting quite a bill for the extra work but was suprised to find the fee for the extra work more than fair, which is why I am taking time to write this review. Mr. Boyce was fair and easy to work with even with the difficulty of the work that my job turned out to be. I am a retired contractor and I can appreciate an honest hardworking contractor that Mr. Boyce and his crew turned out to be. My thanks to the Boyce Roofing Company for the great job they did on my home here in Fallbrook.

We did not have the luxury of shopping around for a roofer before picking a company. We found Jim Boyces Roofing on Angies List and and found Jim to be very professional and kind. He seemed like a hard working and honest contractor and quoted us $6800 with an additional $500-$1000 of work depending on the damage once the roof was removed. The crew began on time and completed there work in just over 5 working days. They arrived when they said they would be there, and worked late to get the job done. They were EXTREMELY clean the entire time they were there; they constantly cleaned up after themselves and never left the environment dirty or dangerous. I was happy that they explained every part of the process and talked about the quality of materials they use and how they would be installed. Jose was in charge of the job while Jim was away and constantly double-checked the work of his crew. Jim and Jose seemed like the type of people that would tear down their work if it was not done properly, and redo it to make sure it is right. The only issue I had was that, on the fourth day, I was informed that the additional cost of damaged parts and labor was going to cost $2150 ($1150 more than what was originally quoted). I displayed my discontent to Jim and he broke down the cost into parts, labor, and explained that the extra work that was required in order to complete the job right. I had him cover a 'pergola' type area above my front door that was approximately 3ft x 3ft and I had them install two extra vents in the roof for bathroom vents. This was not discussed in the job quote and could easily equate to the additional labor and material cost not anticipated. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone who wants the job done right. I was thoroughly impressed and it was a good experience leaving me with the peace of mind that my roof is as good as new. I would get estimates from other companies as I cannot accurately compare what I paid to the rest of the market, If the price is right or even close, I would fork out the extra cash to have Jim and his crew do the work.

I was impressed by the neatness of such a messy job. My neighbor remarked on how quiet they were. Also, they cleaned up after each day. They completed the job ahead of schedule.

On the day promised, the two man crew removed the ceramic tiles over the area, replaced the bad lumber, they found no indications of the rot spreading, they primed it, replaced the weather proofing and tiles. They replaced two cracked tiles which is common when you mess around with ceramic roof tiles. They were very professional, detailed and expediant. We have experienced a few downpours since with no leakage experienced. The work is warranted for one year by Boyce.
