Our experience with CertaPro was fantastic. We get compliments on our house from almost everyone that walks by. The quality of the prep work was top notch (on our 102 year old house, lots cracks and gaps to fix). Deon was a pleasure to work with and the painting crew was professional, answered all my questions and were skilled painters. I love the quality of the Duration paint we went with from Sherwin Williams. The color is saturated, deep and hopefully very long-lasting. I would definitely call CertaPro again.

I submitted a quote request here on Angie's List for exterior house paint. CertaPro Berkeley owner contacted us within hours, to set up a time for estimator to come out. They then requested a time change, which we accommodated. Estimator arrived on time, we spent 45 minutes with them going over the project, then were told our estimate would be sent within a couple of days, but no later than that Sunday (3 days later). Here it is 8 days later and we've been ghosted! Totally forgotten. No quote, no follow up, nothing. What a waste of time both my husband and my time! They are officially off our list now. I have no tolerance for promises not kept.

They were very professional.They were on time and very good about cleaning up each day. The results exceeded my expectations.The house looks amazing.My neighbors thought I put on new shingles and windows. They took off years of dirt wth the power wash and the cleaning of windows before painting. Their foreman Deon was very patient with all of our questions. I will continue to recommend them to friends and neighbors for years to come.

After reaching out to CertaPro, they promptly messaged back and setup a date to come and review what needed to be done, totally around our schedule. When it was time for the actual job the team showed up and quickly prepped the room(s) that needed to worked on and fast forward 3 days we have a beautiful new feel to the house. There were no issues with the work done and they were meticulous in making sure that everything was done properly. Couldn’t be more happy with the service from start to finish. Definitely will have them out again for any interior painting and also highly recommend them.

Soumil and his crew were top notch. Quotes were received in a timely fashion and the work met expectations of both the timeline and price. If we noticed something it was addressed immediately. Overall, one of the better experiences we've had working with contractors.

Excellent responsiveness and attention to detail by work crew, foreman, and project manager. Juan Diaz, our foreman, was always available for questions and specific directions on what was needed. Juan was wonderful throughout the project! The project manager kept us informed about the planned project start and what could cause delays. He gave me the name and phone of our foreman well in advance of the project. Overall he was responsive and organized with very good planning skills. Our initial contact and discussion with the owner was professional and helpful. He was prompt to the appointment and offered to include all details we wanted. He gave directions on types of paint products so we were better informed on paint selection. The contract was inclusive and reasonably priced. Excellent work overall. Thank you.

I was VERY pleased with the CertaPro Painters (Berkeley) team - from Kevin (the sales guy who came out to scope the work and provide a quote), to Deon (Production Manager), Hieme (foreman), and the guys who did the prep, painting, and carpentry work that was required. They were easy to work with and professional, and the quality of work was really good. I particularly appreciated how flexible and open they were to my requests as the project progressed - no attitude or unnecessary complexity. I would work with them again and recommend them.

They said they were going to call me the first week of September to set up an appointment. They never called.

The experience with CertaPro was perfect. They took a lot of time to make a careful bid, which was a bit lower than their competitors. They scheduled the work promptly, but were responsive to our request for a schedule change. The crew was very careful and professional, and communication was good. When we panicked for a moment that we might have chosen the wrong colors, Certa Pro was very responsive and understanding and paused the work. The whole experience was fantastic.

After several emails back and forth about the scope of work, they decided my location areas too far for the job. I searched for deals in my area and they came up. Also the address was in the first email. I am on a deadline as I have household goods on the way in a big move and they waisted 3 days with a slow wishy wash response. Thankfully, Angie List was helpful in getting a refund.

We've used the Berkeley-area CertaPro guys twice now: kitchen, dining room, master bath, and some exterior work. We're big fans. Soumil (the owner of the franchise) is a friendly and very responsive and accommodating fellow. The two crews we've had do the work were both great. Our last round of work was done by Jeronimo and Manny, two wonderful guys: punctual, careful craftsmen--and very nice to boot. Prices seem competitive. We'll definitely call on CertaPro again in the future!

It was good. The only reason I am not giving them an excellent score is because after they left I noticed a smudge of paint was left on my window frame.

Certa Pro sales rep Kevin Carter was great in explaining their work, providing a quote quickly, and helped with paint color selection. Their contract was very thorough with everything itemized and the preparation and painting process detailed. They provide proof of insurance coverage, warranty, and references. Their price was not the cheapest but very competitive and very fair for the work they did. Their crew did a great job, were very courteous, cleaned up every day. We are very happy with the result and our house looks great!

The performance of CertaPro on this job was exceptional, from start to finish. The quote was comprehensive and accurate, and the cost was competitive. Scheduling the job was straightforward, with the company happy to work within our constraints. Our house needed extensive dry rot repair of window trim and siding, and this could easily have turned into a complicated and expensive effort. Instead, the company's carpenter Santos was pro-active in finding cost-effective solutions, and did a superb job. The painting job was equally well done. The crew was clean, efficient and professional, and the job site was always left neat and safe at the end of each day. The company was very responsive to requests for touch up and other small issues that needed additional attention. The total job took about two weeks, as quoted. The final cost was slightly different than quoted because of changes made during the work, but the accounting of the changes was done very transparently. Overall we are extremely happy with the work of Soumil, Christian, Santos, and their crew. The final result is beautiful, and we have been asked by several neighbors for the contact information of the company. The neighbors were impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of the crew, as well as the beautiful result. We will definitely hire CertaPro again.

Everything was super! I chose CertaPro even though it was not the cheapest bid. Kevin, the sales manager was on time and professional. His bid detailed everything I wanted. I chose CertaPro because of the detailed, comprehensive bid. Ivan, the foreman is a master painter! He is a fine artist! He and Nelson were on time everyday. Ivan explained each step to me and I reviewed the progress at each step. He matched the paint colors perfectly with the existing colors. They hand washed and cleaned all surfaces, repaired cracks, and small areas of dry rot. They applied a primer and two coats of the paint brand and quality I selected. They cleaned up every day. It all looks amazing! Both Ivan and Nelson clearly took pride in their work. They are truly professionals

Painters were very professional, always punctual, cleaned after himself each day, updated me, as necessary, and supervisor checked on work frequently and asked for my feedback. Very satisfied with CertaPro painters of Berkeley.

Their prep work is wonderful: they handled carpentry repair for some dry rot and added new trim work, and then primed and caulked the entire house, sealing the new carpentry work and repairing countless minor chips, scratches, holes and more. The result: a home that looks like new and that we are confident got top-notch effort. The crew worked quietly, cleaned up after themselves at the end of every workday, and communicated well, confirming throughout that they understood our expectations and were satisfied with their work. The company's pricing was significantly lower than two other bids we sought before deciding. Management's quote process and followup was thorough and clear, and the followup to ensure our satisfaction was immediate and professional.

Just finished having CertaPro paint the exterior of my house and couldn't be happier. Their estimate was 40% lower (~$3,300) than another well-known local San Rafael company (with an excellent reputation). I was impressed with Kevin during the initial estimate walk-around and greatly appreciated the owner's (Soumil) great communication and follow-up before/during/after the work. I gave them the addresses of two nearby homes where I really liked the paint colors and they provided color matches for me to try out (I ended up selecting one of these color combos). The two-man crew (lead by Jorge) was great. I was greatly impressed with their clean-up every day, especially that I didn't find even the smallest paint chip anywhere around the house after initial prep and paint scraping. The guys were very personable and open to questions or other concerns I had as the job progressed. And the final result looks great! Not just the result of a new color combination on the house, but the excellent detail work really shows when you get up close. I received multiple compliments from neighbors in just the first few days. I received a request for feedback on their work from a perspective customer just a few days after they finished and I was very happy to give them a great recommendation. I've dealt with four different contractors for big projects (~$6K - $15K) since I bought my home in late 2013 and I wish every experience was as positive as working with CertaPro.

Magnificently well. The painters were kind and they made the most of their efforts to minimize their impact on our living space as their work progressed. They clean up behind themselves as they moved through our home, and all of the work was completed on schedule.
