The entire experience with CertaPro Painters of Berkeley was positive and professional. I could not be happier with the outcome. Finished the job in about a week. Were flexible about doing a double coat. Reasonable price. It's about 2 years later and some paint is peeling, however. Too late for me to call them on their warranty.

The painters were hard working and courteous. They cleaned up every day after the day's work. The most important aspect was that after the power-wash they looked for any dry rot that occurred, then fixed or patched it before applying the primer. The entire job was neatly done and the house now looks very cheerful and bright. An excellent job overall.

I appreciate the fact that Soumil took the time out to come and meet with me to see just what my expectations were and we came to agreement that worked for me. He came out close to the finishing of my job to make sure everything I wanted was taken care of. The painters were very nice and did not leave any mess at the end of the day. They were great.

Overall, the experience was great. The painters were professional and hard working. The lead painter on the project was very sincere and conscientious. He wanted to do a professional job and did. He worked hard. CertaPro was on top of everything. My only disappointment was that the original bid for the work, which was very good, ended up being higher because CertaPro did not realize how large one part of the job was when he made the estimate. Possibly a communication issue. Still, we are very happy with the results and the company and would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Job required priming window and door frames (in rather poor condition) and patching stucco, then painting. CertaPro did a very neat and creditable job, except for painting some windows shut (which they mostly fixed after I requested it).

CertaPro was professional, worked quickly, and charged a competitive rate. But, the stain I chose was too dark. I also should have had them power wash the deck instead of sanding it. The finished job looked too dark and the wood had some dark gray portions. I thnk the deck looked better before the job was started. I'm also planning to have my fence stained, but will wait until late spring. I can't help but wonder if the stain didn't dry properly due to the cold temps.

Very good overall. One problem: I asked the doors be heavily sanded This did not go onto the proposal. I talked to Mr. Amin about it, he said to tell the production manager. I did. On the last day of the job the painter tells me: it's not on the contact. Mr. Amin needs to listen more closely to the client and communicate better with his production manager. As the owner he has a larger responsibility to communicate with clients that goes beyond the responsibility of a salesman. My call to him about mistakes on the contract got lost in the wash. Not good.

While Soumil was professional and timely, the job was supposedly finished "early", for me to find it wasn't really complete and I had to reschedule another time for them to finish up and clean everything up.

They did an excellent job and did it very quickly. They also handled the changes we made well and had good suggestions on how to handle some unusual spaces in our house. The only minor complaint I have is they didn't tell us about other finish options (just flat and semi-gloss). I later found out there are other possibilities that would have worked better for us (like eggshell and satin). That is why I didn't give them the highest rating in communication. I marked them down a little in value and budget because they didn't have the lowest quote. We went with them over lower quotes because they actually responded to emails and phone calls in a timely manner unlike the others.

This is not a top-notch painting company. The are fine if you have project where you do not care about the details or maybe do not care how long the job will last. But on my relatively small job, I have had to oversee many of the details (stripping, etc, even though I covered them in detail in the contract to avoid any confusion) as the franchise owner didn't provide the proper supervision (or a sufficient number or workers). And it has taken two months (job still not finished) for a job with proper staffing that should have taken 2-3 weeks. I am not happy.
