I called American Rooter by a local number, (562) area code. I spoke with a Mr. Richard Olson and said that Imy shower was backing up and I thought it was from my washing machine. He told me it would be $86.50 to snake it out and someone would be there within an hour. A young man, I believe his name was Mark, came within the hour and put on shoe booties before coming into my house. He was clean in his appearance and very polite and congenial. I appreciated that. It turned out that it had backed up and out into the back cement area of the house. He said it would be $129.00 to do it from there as it was different from what I had reported. He explained it took a bigger snake etc. I said that was okay and to go ahead. He explained everything as he did it. For example he said that when things backed up I would hear it gurgling in the toilet. He was here about an hour. I paid him and he left. Very good experience and yes I would call them back, but hope I don't have to for a while. : )
