Mike's Tree Service

I had a large tree in my front yard and one very big limb broke off and fell into the street blocking traffic and nearly hitting a parked car. I needed the branches removed quickly to clear the street as well as take the rest of the tree down before more branches fell off.
After calling four tree services and only getting their message services, I finally reached Mike's Tree Service in Napa. They took my number and in about 10 minutes, Dave the owner called me back. He came out to my house about 1 1/2 hours later to take a look at the job. He wrote what I thought was a very competitive bid for the removal of the fallen branches as well as cutting down the rest of the tree and removing the stump.
His crew was busy the day he wrote the bid (Monday) but said they could come out first thing Wednesday morning. In the mean time he pulled out a chainsaw from the trunk of his car and proceeded to cut up and clear all the fallen branches from the street in front of my house.
Wednesday morning, 8:00 am his crew arrived and by 9:30 the tree and stump were all gone. They then used a leaf blower and rake to clean up my front yard.
I was very happy with the service provided and plan to use him again soon to trim more of my trees.

I remembered using Mike's Tree Service years ago when I owned another property in Napa. I remembered that it was called Mike's Tree Service, but that the guy's name was not Mike (it's Dave.) Funny how something odd like that made it memorable. Looked him up again and called to have a maple stump ground out after the tree was removed. Got his answering service, he called me back within about 10-15 minutes, described the situation and he said he could come by to take a look before he went up valley for another job. Sure enough, just about 30 minutes later, Dave drives up, takes a look, writes me up an estimate using his tablet and in-truck printer (cool!) says it will be $75 (I love the price!) and how about right now? He backed his huge grinding rig in, fired it up and ground the stump, roots and dug an extra large hole so I could plant another tree in its place. Couldn't be happier!

Mike's Tree Service was really well. They're not quite done with the project yet but what they've done has been great. Their demeanor is really great.

I called Dave at Mike's Tree Service because they had done work for me before and were very professional. I'd had a bid from another company for this latest job, but that company didn't appear to be sufficiently insured and licensed, so even though their bid was lower than Mike's I felt confident in choosing Mike's. Dave and two others worked all day on Day 1 of the tree removal and even stacked some rotten fencing we'd taken down in preparation for the tree removal. The huge Monterey pine was growing into a chain link fence owed by a vineyard bordering our property, but Mike's was able to get it all, including the stump except for where it grew under the chain link fence. The men were polite and professional. On Day 2, another man, Dan, came with the same two men to do the thinning and lightening of the camphor trees, which had a lot of dead wood and heavy limbs, some of which were getting bumped every week by garbage trucks and some of which were at risk of falling on our house and cars. Dan has 23 years of experience, and it shows. He was in the trees all day, doing a masterful job of shaping and thinning the trees. He and his crew worked the entire day on those two trees, and now they are beautiful. They swept up and removed all the fallen wood and leaves. I'm very pleased and would use Mike's Tree Service again.
