I looked on the internet for ways to patch asphalt. I found a few, one was called "Fastpatch pourable asphalt repair", made by "Pavement Repair Products Co." I emailed the link to Home Handyworks (run by Bruce Horner) and asked if he was interested in doing the job. He responded positively, and said go ahead and order the kit. I ordered the kit Wednesday and it arrived Monday. I gave Bruce a range of a few days when I would be available, and he came within that time range. He cleaned the area using water, then let it dry. Then he mixed the fastpatch kit, and poured the black tar-like substance to fill the holes and cracks. The repair went well and continues to look good. It dried very hard, is not effected by the street sweeper, and matches the color of the asphalt. My only complaint is I should have ordered the 5 gallon kit instead of the 3 gallon kit. When the powder-bags are mixed together, the actual volume you get is much smaller than 3 or 5 gallons, so the bigger kit would have been more appropriate. The repair kit cost $69 plus $25 shipping. I paid Bruce $75 for his efforts.

We had good experience with them. We called them on a Sunday and he came out within a couple of hours.

I've been very pleased when working with Bruce. He's on time, thorough, conscientious, and creative when troubleshooting issues. He's also professional, reasonably priced, highly reliable, and backs up his work. I highly recommend him to others.

Bruce at Home Handyworks has done several projects for me over the last three years. I can tell he really enjoys his work. I've learned a lot by talking with him. He's willing to tell how things are done, and let the customer be involved in planning.
Most recently, he put up a shed in the backyard, first making the wooden base. Very nice job, done in a single day while I was at work.
Last summer, he painted the trim of the house. Since the trim is a different color than the rest of our exterior, this was careful work. He also painted our interior hallway. He's a talented painter with excellent attention to detail.
He installed wall-plates, for network and TV-cable connections within the house. (I prefer not to have a wireless network. Before Bruce, I just had wires coming out of the carpet.) Bruce pulled out the base board and cut drywall to install the wall plate. The end result looks very professional.
He renovated a weathered outside door, by gluing a thin piece of wood to it, and he installed drywall in the garage, where no drywall was before.
Bruce regularly arrived ~10AM, finishing by ~5 or 6. I noticed he sets goals for himself, and takes pains to meet them by the day's end. Hourly rate was $60.
I highly recommend him, for the most challenging projects.
