Initially, an evaluation was made and an estimate was given. I did not realize a a cap was needed but appreciated being given the information.  The work was done a week later and went smoothly.

Karl and his team were a pleasure to work with. I didn't get competitive bids,  I am sure there is a cheaper provider. It's only chain link fence, right?  But Karl's team installed the fence without any glitches, a very sturdy install to prevent our dog from going out (over or under the fence) of this part of our yard.  They were prompt, courteous, clean, helpful.  I found Foothill Fence on Angie's list and am so happy I trusted the reports and used this provider for this!

I had a privacy fence between my house and the street that was old and damaged by boganvilla and needed to be replaced.  I called Carl for an estimate.  He showed up on time and was very professional.  He took time (no rush job) to discuss my options and offered me a number of price and materials options.   They did an excellent job and cleaned up well after themselves.  I am very pleased with the final product and their work even received compliments from another contractor who was doing another job at my home and saw their work. I have no hesitation about recommending them highly and will use them again when my other fences need to be replaced.

Carl, the owner represented himself as well as the company with a professional attitude. I sought out at least 4 bids and Carl's was very competitive. Foothill Fence time line to complete the project was met  with little or no set backs. Carl was able to work  with our other contractors to keep the work flow running smoothly. Anytime a concern was brought up, Carl was there to understand the questions or problems and to give us the solution to it. The crew at Foothill were very professional and responsible and kept the job site clean after a work day. I would recommend Carl and his company for any of your fencing needs.

Since the fence was in the front, I wanted it to to look nice and have some decorative elements.  Carl showed me samples from his book, and I chose the one I wanted.  He modified the openings so they'd be smaller so my two small dogs can't get out--and was pleasant about it.  He kept in touch regularly and his team came on the day and time quoted and finished on time. The fence is beautiful and I love it.  I asked about replacing an additional gate that someone had installed badly, and they got right on it.  The price was fair.  Carl has a heart and really strives to serve.  The team was professional, especially when I asked questions and poked around.  Everything took 2 1/2 days.  I would definitely use them again.

The work was done very professionally in a timely manner. The gates were custom made so they fit very well. They are both much better material than my original ones. When the iron strike was put in, it made a very loud buzz compared with my old one, but Carl went all over to find a quieter one. When he couldn't find one he had his locksmith come and replace the transformer and switch the current on it, so now it is virtually noiseless except for a click when the gate unlatches. Next week the locksmith will come and hard wire the trannsformer. Carl was very persistent on the lock and getting it just right. I am very pleased with his beautiful work.

Like so many of the reviews stated, Carl is great to work with and very professional. He gave me an estimate about a year and half ago but because of health problems in the family we had to wait. When I called him he honored the original bid and even remembered me. The tenants dog had broken through the old fence and Carl was ready to get the job done with only two day notice. He even sent extra crew to make sure new segments of fence were complete and secure by the end of the day.

Carl came when he said he would to see the work needed. He called with the quote the same afternoon. The crew showed up when they were supposed to and finished the work in 2 days. I was concerned about the finish surrounding the posts and Carl immediately came and adjusted them.

I needed a dog run set up before I moved into my house so I called Carl to request a quote. He show up right on time for our meeting, and faxed me a quote for the job the next day. Foothill Fence wasn't the cheapest quote I received, but I felt comfortable that he would get the job done when I needed it, and make sure it was done correctly. Carl's guys showed up on time and did the job very quickly. Fence looks great, feels sturdy, and everything was cleaned up around the area good as new. Highly recommened.

Foothill fence exceeded our expectations in every way. The fence is so beautiful!!! It was exactly what we asked for only better. Carl and his crew were extremely professional from start to finish. We recommend them very highly!! Carl was by far the most professional of the 4 contractors we interviewed. He arrived on time, was very friendly and easy to communicate with. He got back to us with an estimate when he said he would and it was very reasonable! It was a no brainer to hire him. Carl's crew worked very hard, and were surprisingly quiet and unobtrusive. Carl was knowledgeable about fencing and very helpful in discussing our needs. We had removed a broken concrete wall between our house and our neighbors and wanted to replace it with a redwood fence. Carl gave us bids for a standard fence and also a board-on-board fence. We chose the board-on-board for the extra privacy it affords. We also had them install a 10 ft. long self-closing iron gate for the pool area. The workers were on time, polite and did a beautiful job. We feel that the work done was worth the money paid and we would definitely use this company again.

I was very impressed with them. He sent me a text estimate for two quotes, depending on how big the fence was going to be. I called him on a Monday and he told me he could be out by Wednesday. He showed up exactly as promised on that day and spent a half hour with me. He analyzed the situation, made a few suggestions, and answered my questions. He was very knowledgeable. He sent me the estimates promptly.

They are the greatest. With all the rain and dealing with a fence between two properties they were accomodating and polite regarding neighbors dogs and children. Our old wood fence had buckled during the rain and was ready to come down. Carl, the owner, is an angel to work with. They were neat and cleaned up every day. The fence is beautiful. I would have liked it if they had sanded the top of the little picket fence gate, though.

The hinges on my vinyl privacy gate were broken and the gate was pulling away from the two posts it was connected to and the entire gate was sagging on the driveway and had to be manually lifted to open or close so I could get my car out. I called several gate/fence contractors to give me estimates on the repair. Each one said it was a very poor job to begin with and they didn't know how it could be repaired. None of them could do it. Carl said the same thing except he was so sympathetic and so sorry he couldn't help me. So when I decided I would have to replace the entire gate instead, he was the first one I called back to get an estimate for complete replacement. When he arrived, rather than give me a price, he examined the gate again and said there must be something he can do to fix it and wanted to think about it some more. He came up with a plan. Came back in a couple of days with the material and equipment and fixed my gate! He did what at least six contractors said couldn't be done. He saved me over $1,000. He called me in a few days to make sure everything was o.k. and that the electric motor contractor was able to adjust the motor. But that's not the end of it. During our recent storms (January), the hurricane strength winds forced the gate open and broke the bracket that is welded into the gate from the motor and is the arm that swings the gate. I couldn't open the gate, straighten the arm or pull it off from the gate. I couldn't get my car out of my driveway. The motor contractor wouldn't come out until the rains had stopped. I finally called Carl and explained the situation even though I knew fixing this was not his area of work. He came over almost immediately and dismantled the motor from the gate and the gate was free. When the rains stop, I will get the electric motor person out to hopefully weld it back. This was way above and beyond the call of duty for Carl. He wouldn't even accept payment for a service call. He said people don't help each other enough, and I needed help. I really don't know what I would have done without him. Can't say enough about what a fine person he is.

The work came off very nicely and they did a good job. There was no problem and they did everything as promised. They did what they said they would do. I would use them again in future, if needed.

Carl came out to assess what we needed. He took the time to listen to my request. The original estimate was really high so we discussed the project again and settled on a much smaller job. The price still seemed a little high, but all of the Angie's list ratings were good and I didn't want to bother with taking the time to get competitive quotes. They came out today and finished the project quickly. The work looks good.

Had 3 estimates for this job. Foothill Fence was in the middle. Carl came out to give me an estimate for vinyl or wood fencing. We settled on wood, because of the dollar. I had to wait a few months to build my fund for the fence and he waited patiently. When I was finally able to go ahead, he was able to get a crew on it withing 2 days and finished the job within two days. They did not bother the tenant and worked very hard and did a professional job. Being a woman, it looks superb, very stong and will last longer than me. When checking the finished job, I felt that a bit more clean up was required and let Carl know that. He was very accomodating and will have his men come back out to do clean up.

Jerry Leaper came to look at the job and give us an estimate. He was funny, droll, knowledgeable - a delight. As promised, an estimate came by fax the next day clearly outlining the job. Once that was accepted, a date was given for the work to be done. Two workers (Lorenzo being the main one) arrived, as planned, and completed the job that day. They managed to work amongst many plants and obstacles in the garden and not damage anything. When finished, they cleaned the area thoroughly. The fence looks great - we paid exactly what was estimated - and we couldn't be happier. I would definitely use this company again and recommend them to a friend.
