Bay Alarm: Great Choice Given some of the recent crime in the Sacramento area, we finally decided to get an alarm. Alarm companies are a very competitive bunch, offering many of the same products. Given that, I focused on the service provided during and after the sale. I spent numerous hours researching the major competitors for positive feedback on service. We decided on Bay Alarm. Our service experience from initial contact to the installation technicians finalizing the installation, was stellar. My initial contact was with Toni Balastero, a sales consultant that lives local here in Elk Grove. ( (916) 582-8094) ). She was on time, extremely knowledgeable of her products and systems, and not hard sell on anything. She listens, asks questions, then gives you various protection options. It was a very pleasant and professional experience. The process leading up to the installation was easy and flawless. The installation took 2 days, which was expected considering the components we ordered. The installers were on time, and immediately gave us a walk through of what they were to do, and gave us a timeline for the various steps. Chris M. was our lead installer, working with Ricky C. Both were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and hardworking. During the first day of installation, we were pleasantly surprised that the technician’s supervisor, Seth, came by to assure the Techs were hard at it, and to find out how satisfied we were with the service from Bay Alarm to this point. This was a sign of great Quality Control, and a good indicator that we had made a great decision in picking an alarm company. The 2 techs worked a full day, and Chris returned to complete the job on the second day. Right on time; and detailed his pending work and timeline. When completed, Chris did an outstanding job of clean up and you wouldn’t have even known they were there. The installation was clean, with nothing unsightly. The time was taken to assure that the exposed equipment was as un-intrusive as possible. Upon completion and testing of all aspects of our alarm, Chris introduced us to the operations of the panel, all systems, the camera and the Phone App we use to control our system. The system is very user friendly, and Chris did a great job of walking us through the total systems operations. He answered our questions, gave us his card, and said he was just a phone call away if we needed help. WOW, we were blown away with the whole experience. The alarm price was very competitive, in as they were able to use several existing components from the local alarm that was installed when the house was built. The monthly monitoring was inline with their competitors, and Toni was able to whittle our monthly down with a special they had going. A little wait for installation date ,due to busy appointment back-up.
I was placed on a possible cancelation list and got called early for install time and date. ( one week ahead of original appointment)
Service man was prompt, polite and very informative.

Locked my self out of the house. The locksmith to approx 1 minute to open my deadbolted front door.
I then got on the internet and started checking out alarm companies. Called ADT, they basically sell pre packaged systems and asked no questions about my house or needs. Toward the end of the spiel came an extra cost here and there.
Went to the phone book. The only company I found that was local was Bay Alarm. Checked out their websight and discovered they do business only in California and the same family has owned the company since 1946. when I called the customer service person was very nice. she set up an appt to have someone come out evaluate my home, find out what I wanted. found out all their employees get fingerprinted and have background checks. I can't say that about any others I spoke to. When checking the house he let me know it was prewired and as such would not be as expensive as wireless.
The Technician arrived on time at 8AM. with all the stuff he needed. He discovered that 2 doors and a windows, while they appeared to have been pre wired were not. Just a plug in the wall and wires connected to nothing. I agreed that the font door and slider needed protection so could they be wireless. He checked with the office and they gave me cr. for the 1 window and 2 doors and a big discount on the two wireless contacts. The explanation and training on how to work the system was excellent. The Tech also left me lots of printed information.
The system is easy to use and I am very glad I picked them, rather than trust a salesman at an 800 number that probably goes to somewhere out of state.
I would recommend them to anyone.

Sales rep Jeff Qu was very thorough and knowledgeable about how to retrofit and use some of the existing wireless equipment from the old Monitronics system. Jeff also showed me that the home was prewired for an alarm (I did not know this). He took his time to map out the home for the best use of the new equipment (motion detectors, etc) The installer was well prepared and was able to find the wires (behind the sheetrock) for the original alarm panel prewire so the new panel could be tied in there. Everything was tested and verified. Cleaned up afterwards. Only took approx. 2 and 1/2 hrs to install. Very happy with the new system. My only quibble is that I had to buy my own batteries for the items that I and quot;re-usedand quot; (wasn't made aware of this prior to install). Other than that a very problem free experience.

I have signed up for monthly services with them for monitoring the fire alarm. Their pricing is very transparent. They will show us the system we need versus the most expensive system. I thought that was a true consultation. It is very customer oriented. They are definitely about recurring business. They have a nice referral system too. I referred some clients and I got a discount.

They have always come out very quickly. Very reliable.
