"Hopefully someone was able to help the member. Without getting technical, the carpet required a cut and a seam in an area that may not hold up to stretching. We suggested she get a second opinion from a carpet installer who may have a solution."
"What the member said was true. The first job we did for him, we had to go over the carpet 3 times because there was a lot of soap in the carpet. It’s similar to getting the soap out of a very soapy sponge. The more recent job he was referring to was for upholstery and carpet. There was a strong dog odor in both. The technician felt it would not go away without a special treatment for which he quoted $75 for each. He didn’t want to clean it and leave the member with an odor problem. We appreciate the member’s generous “B” and hope he found someone he was happy with doing the job."
"We wouldn’t knowingly send a sick person into someone’s home and we apologize for that. Even though this was a year and a half ago we are reaching out to the member to see what we can do to make it up to them. We don’t expect to retain them as a customer but we don’t want anyone to feel they didn’t get what they paid for no matter how long it’s been."
"It’s true our specials cover a certain number of areas. And it’s true that rooms over 250 sq. ft. count as 2 areas. We make that clear in the wording of the offer. There are extras we can quote over the phone like additional rooms, deodorizing and fabric protection. However, there are things like pet odor treatments and repairs that we can’t quote without an inspection. Since this job was never done and since this occurred months ago we don’t know what the conversation with the member involved. However, based on the member’s review, I do believe our representative could have done a better job of explaining why we couldn’t estimate certain items over the phone. And it may not have been made clear there was no cost or obligation for the estimate. If we fell short on clarity, our apologies to the member for any inconvenience this may have caused."
