He claimed to have fixed the problem and asked me to call him back if it stopped working again. It stopped working within 48 hours. When I called back, he scheduled a return visit for the next day. I have not heard from him since! He took my money but did not fix the problem. I called someone else to fix it.

Michael was prompt in his response to me and was out the next day. Had the unit out and fixed in less then a week with the holiday in there. He was very reasonably priced actually lots cheaper then the first quote I had. Will absolutely use him again

Being a nice guy and feeling ripped off by a contractor is two very different things. We chose Michael Howard based on his response time , being personable and reviews. He's a very nice guy but in the end felt ripped off. We found that our initial interactions was very pleasant. He couldn?t determine with his assistant or figure the problem of our central heating unit and then told us we needed to replace the entire electrical circuit board. Cost was $750. He replaced the board and it still didn't solve the issue of heating up. He then determined that it was the motor that was the issue. Additional cost to repair $400. What was frustrating was that after speaking with other reliable sources while the job was taking place I asked Michael Howard for the old circuit board. He claimed that I told him to discard it. Not true at all. It was a red flag when a contractor is making up a story and calling me a home owner a liar. Why would I tell a contractor to throw out any parts until the job was solved and completes ? That truly concerns me as a home owner. Why would a professional discard the old circuit board fir the entire heating system before the job was finished ? My neighbor who's a contractor wanted to review the old circuit board. Then a day later Michael Howard returned with parts for the motor. He insisted and needed a confirmation of payment before he would repair the motor. Wanted me to sign an agreement when I questioned his judgement and concern that he might have replaced a circuit board that was perfectly fine since he later discovered the motor issue. I went up into the attic and found the old board. I asked him to now try the old board that I found discarded in the attic ( same part he claimed was discarded ). He told me that once he put in the new board it would be impossible to return it to the supplier that he purchased it from. Even with several hours of purchasing it. I asked him to show me a receipt and that I would call the vender. He refused. Ok so he didn't want to show me the receipt. When I looked up the part on line it sells for $90. So his mark up is 600%. I understand the time and labor but it was not very long. He then told me he would not charge the $400 for the parts for the motor. Wow. Bottom line is that when we later replaced the old board to test it , it worked fine. The real issue was the motor. The fact that he didn't want to make the effort to return it to the supplier with 24 hours is because he wanted to make the money. Clearly. Willing to not charge for the motor parts doesn't make me feel any better. Just made me recognize how much I was being ripped off. . And doesn't give the confidence to ever use this contractor again or recommend him regardless of all the terrific reviews.

Michael Howard is an excellent pro. He repaired my leaky natural gas fire place heater competently as well as correctly resetting my condo heaters and providing maintenance advice. I am so lucky to have hired Michael as my pro! I am thankful to Home Advisor for referring Michael Howard as a Skillled professional for heating and cooling. I was in desperate need for competent help to fix a heater leaking natural gas and Michael Howard provided me with great help to solve my heater problem and to also totally reset and install my furnace.

Replaced condensation pump. Knowledgeable and personable.

He serviced my air conditioning unit, took care of two leaks in the unit and replaced my old thermostat. The unit itself works better than it even did when it was first installed.

As it turned out the repair was very simple. There was a problem with a circuit breaker. Michael fixed things quickly, and I only had to pay the minimum service charge. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't need.

They were supposed to come back 3 days later but cancelled - not sure why , but they were great the day they were there.....would definitely recommend them

Nowadays, it’s hard to find someone that works on floor furnaces. If you have one that needs repair like I did, call Michael Howard. Along with being prompt and efficient, Mike is very knowledgeable about floor heaters and the price was reasonable. An honest man that I definitely recommend for heating problems, as well as plumbing and air conditioning. Call Michael Howard first before you call anyone else. A++

Michael called as soon as I put in the request and communicated updates to his arrival time (the very next morning) in a timely manner. Work was efficient and they checked other systems while on site.

Michael answered my post within a few minutes and arrived to me within an hour. We'd been having issues with the AC in our leased office space and I've felt cheated and scammed by the building who says they gave us a 'good working ac unit' when we moved in but after 30 days, any issues would be our problem. Guess what? We've had nothing but issues (90 degrees upstairs) and I just had a feeling they weren't telling us the truth about the status of the unit upon moving in. I decided to get a second opinion and hired Michael. For a very reasonable fee - some quotes out there are OUTRAGEOUS - he went up on the roof and diagnosed our issue. That's a whole another story, but now because of Michael, we're proving that the AC hasn't been working for a long time. He took pictures and wrote out very clearly what the issue was and what he recommends. It was such a relief to talk to someone who knew what he was taking about and was trustworthy. This is a bigger issue with the landlord but if it were up to me, I would hire Michael for the whole job.

Michael was on time, called ahead, professional and told me exactly what needed to be done; a simple quick fix ! He didn’t oversell me and offered good advice on next steps if the simple fix didn’t hold up. I liked his straight forward manner and obvious experience.
