Johnny's TV Repair

Johnny arrived on time and replaced the part at less than the estimate quoted. He was in and out in 15 minutes. TV works great again. We had him out here last year to replace the lamp cooling fan and he did a fine job then too. We highly recommend him.

He couldn't repair the tv but he replaced it with a 23 inch TV with VHS and DVD player. It was the same price as he quoted for the repair job. He was very polite. It's a small business and Iwould recommend to anybody I could talk too

Diagnosed over the phone within five minutes that my screen in my 10 year old sony had gone out... 2,000 for new screen... Advised that I make new purchase or spend 200.00 for shop service to maybe get it fixed. 50 percent they could fix it.... Not a great value as a new larger smart tv is around 3000.00. Great customer service!!!! Never asked for a thing. All completed over the phone... Five stars!!!

My Samsung LED screen went black after only about 18 months of purchase. I was bummed at the idea of spending a bunch of money to replace it. The Samsung recommended repair company was going to charge $115 just to look at it and turn around would be a few days, so I decided to shop around and found Johnny's on Yelp and Angies List. I was able to bring it in the same day I called. They opened the back of the TV while I was still there and gave me a ballpark estimate and had the TV fixed within 2 hours for only $150. They were very knowledgeable, professional & nice; and even recommended ways to buying a more reliable TV in the future. I would definitely recommend Johnny's and use them again.

Wow John fixed my TV over the phone!! -My large flat panel TV would not turn on. The stand-by light was not on and I checked the cord and it seemed that the TV was not 'accepting' power. I panicked...so I looked up and called and explained my problem and John said it could be the main power switch - I've owned this TV for 7 years and never knew there was one! I switched the switch and BAM the TV worked. Thank you John. This may sound silly but how great it was to have a non-problem.

It was great. I sent an email late at night, they called me first thing the next morning. We set up a time. They showed up when they said they would, and the tv is working great again! If I ever have another problem with this tv or any of my other tvs, I will definitely call them again.

We had a problem with the on-off function of our Samsung television. We described the problem over the phone and they said that this was a common problem with this model. They gave us the cost for the repair over the phone. They arrived promptly, were very professional and did a great job. We gladly recommend them !

My 4 year old TV turned off on its own, and would not turn back on. I researched internet forums and had an idea of what the problem might be, but I did not feel comfortable trying to repair it myself. Called Johnny and asked him to come by my house to check it out. (He said there would be a $60 house call charge that would be applied towards the repair bill if I had the work done - I said OK). He came by shortly and opened up my TV, performed testing and was able to locate the problem area; he explained and showed me which components needed to be replaced. He took the TV back to his shop, and brought it back at the end of the day in working condition. Throughout this process, Johnny was courteous and professional. I found him to be honest and trustworthy. This is why I subscribe to Angie's List - to have access to service providers that I can trust to provide exceptional service at a fair price.

He advised use based on what we described to him, it was probably better to buy a new TV. He said it would cost almost as much to repair it. Later, we called him again to ask another question and he was helpful. We felt he was very honest and professional.

My communication with them was limited to a phone call with John, regarding the appearance of vertical lines on my plasma TV. John was extremely professional, polite, and forthright. He asked questions, in order to gather the information necessary to properly assess my particular situation. Once I provided him with the details regarding my television make and model and the problem, which it was exhibiting, he explained that it was definitely possible to fix, but that it would honestly cost as much if not more than purchasing a brand-new television. I greatly appreciated his honesty would not hesitate to use their company in the future.

I called explained the problem with the TV. Right of way he told me what real problem was and what type of repair possibly needed. He stated he would know more once the looked inside the TV. Also he was honest with me when I asked to have someone to pick up but he advised me it was cheaper for me to bring it in to save cost, the repair cost would be low. On day I took in the TV the electrical in the area had cut off and he couldn't do anything but he still gave me a written receipt on his business card. I was impressed. The TV problem was exactly as he said and the repair cost was exactly as quoted. I picked up the TV next day. I told his son I had to take the TV up 22 stairs. His son told me if I couldn't get help talking the TV up the stairs to call the shop and he would come to my house and carry the TV up the stairs. That's want you called great customer service.

Astoundingly great service! Our TV was whupped. The picture was posterized and impossible to watch. My husband called them up yesterday and arranged for Johnny's to come out to the Westside to pick up and repair our ailing TV. As it turns out they have repaired a number of the exact same models very recently and knew exactly what was wrong. He explained it in exacting detail. They told us the price was $200 for the repair and $59 for pick up and delivery. They picked up this morning and said we'd probably get it back as soon as tomorrow! On top of that, he tells us what cable we need to finally connect our TV to our stereo speakers correctly. This afternoon we get a call to see if it's okay to bring the fixed and tested TV back in 40 or so minutes. We had to race out to buy that speaker cable! Not only does our TV work great, but the guy hooked up the speakers (it was hard by the way) and balanced everything for us. My only regret, I neglected to ask his name. Maybe he's Johnny. Wow, what a nice guy.

My HDTV would occasionally have a black screen when I turned it on. I had to unplug it from the wall and then plug it in again for it to work. Eventually, I always got a black screen. A video on YouTube indicated that caps in the power supply would go bad in this tv model and need to be replaced. When I took my TV to Johnny's TV Repair, the technician opened the back of the TV right away in front of me went straight to the caps. The caps had expanded and were definitely bad, as I had seen online. It only took a couple hours and I returned to pick up my TV. I was very pleased with the work and the speed with which he zero-ed in on the problem and fixed it. I was also very pleased with the price! .

He was profesional, prompt and ethical. When my set does fail I will definitely purchase a set from him I have other sets and wuldn't hesitate to call him again/

I called John to ask about repairing my 60" Sony projection TV which had no picture and no sound. The power button was blinking 4 times at evenly spaced intervals. I told him the problem and he asked me a series of questions and told me what he thought the problem was. He gave me an estimate in the range of $200-$300 for the repair and told me that if he came out there would be a $59 service charge if I decided against repairing it. I agreed so after getting the model number, he told me that he was going to download the service manual and that he would call me back within the hour. He did call back within that time frame, said that the problem was a cooling fan for the projection lamp and that he could order the part right away and could come out the next morning. John showed up on time, changed out the defective fan. I asked if he offered senior or Angies List discounts and he gave me $20.00 off the $200.00 charge for a total bill of $180.00. I would use John again as he is honest, professional, punctual, and true to his word. He is a pleasure to deal with.

Called earlier than original Saturday 11am appointment and offered to come at 9:30a to inspect plasma tv. Very nice and professional-checked tv and seemed experienced with this problem, knowledgeable about flat panels and transported it to shop for repair. About two hours later, the shop called and arranged to return repaired tv. TV worked fine and because of their knowledge, experience and honesty, I was able to save about $500 since I did not have to replace tv. Very pleased with this business and have already referred several friends to their shop. Great service and information.

They were great! Lowest charge in town. I took my TV to them in the evening and they had it done the next day! They were the only place in town that didn't tell me it wasn't worth repairing.

Called for information regarding problem with older Fujitsu plasma tv. The man who answered the phone told me I had a problem that is common to these tvs, requires a part which they can no longer obtain, and would cost at least $400 to fix. Recommended replacing tv. I am so pleased that he did not waste my time or money with a useless house call, which I'm sure many other people would have done. Much appreciated.

I called Johnny late in the afternoon and set an appointment for first thing the next morning. He arrived on time. It was evident English was his second language which necessitated rephrasing many things. I had purchased a sound bar for the t.v., but found the optical connection on the t.v. broken when I tried to install it. After Johnny examined the set, he said it would be very expensive to repair. To try to test the system he taped the cable in place on the t.v. Although he indicated the signal was running through the cable, when it was connected to the sound bar there was no sound. He asked for the manual that came with the t.v. and I provided it and the instructions which came with the sound bar. He tried various things and even phoning a friend for advise, but he was unable to get the sound to work. After about 1/2 hour, he said he could not get the sound bar working and left, charging $20 for the service call. I have no expertise with current electronic devices, but after fiddling with the settings on the sound bar remote I was able to get the unit working properly. It seems to me that Johnny has a basic understanding of electronics, but is more of a handyman than expert. He appears honest, but limited in his expertise. His service would probably be fine if you had a simple, basic problem and his charges probably would be quite modest.

I called them, described that I had no audio or video. John (owner) told me over the phone the two most likely problem areas, gave complete cost breakdown of what their serivces would be and the approximate cost involved. We made an apponitment, they showed up on time, very curteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The had to order a part and called when it came in to arrange a time to return. They came back and completed repairs. They were puncutal, professional, and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them to anyone. It's comforting to know there are still skilled professionals out there with honesty and integrity.

Our TV broke out of nowhere, I searched the internet and found Johnny?s. All positive reviews so I figured it was a no brainer. I gave them a try and I'm glad I did. I called them up on Monday morning and they came that afternoon to fix the TV. The service was pretty solid and the price was decent.

They were really great. When we had a different issue later on, they came out and fixed it for free. They were very professional and very nice. They were straightforward, explain everything, and did not overcharge us.
