They accurately confirmed that my board had gone bad after 25 minutes with me on the phone. I was ready to book the repair for $200 when they asked me if I used the HDMI inputs for anything but my Fire Stick. I didn't so they suggested I download the TV manual and see if I was happy with my streaming app options. I was, but I would never have thought of this as a Fire Stick only person. I called Johnny's back and insisted on paying them because their advice saved me $200. The sadi they don't charge for phone consultations, but I insisted on sending them $50. Shops that combine this much knowledge with integrity should be rewarded!

I called Johnny’s TV repair at 8 this morning, Johnny was here by 9:30. He advised me what was probably wrong with the set, that he’d be doing the repair at the shop, and would contact me at noon. He called to say it was fixed and he’d be at my home in 20 minutes. 30 minutes and $180 later, the set was up and playing. FANTASTIC!!

Johnny was able to bring back color.

He was on time, extremely pleasant, efficient, clean and he knew his job. He answered all my questions and he was just great.

In late December, 2015, my 9 year old JVC TV started flashing upon start up that the bulb needed to be replaced. The sign disappeared shortly after. I checked Angie's list, liked Johnny's reviews and called. Johnny Senior, over the phone, helped me sort out what was likely the problem, we figured out that it was a 2-3 day shipping for the part from the JVC factory, and the price was almost $300. He said he recommended if it was urgent, that I could possibly get a bulb at Fry's that was good quality immediately for significantly less. Johnny Sr. added that the TV sign was just a warning and the bulb could last a lot longer. He provided the information over the phone and walked me through the steps over the phone AT NO CHARGE to check manually the tv control panel. I was so impressed. As a precaution, I called around and found only one bulb at Fry's in the LA Area... so I went and got it (...a bulb savings account?). Well, last night, 8 months later, the bulb went out. I called the next morning and Johnny Sr. gave me an appointment for tomorrow to install the bulb and check out the TV at an very reasonable price. Forty-five minutes later, Johnny Jr. arrived, installed and checked the control panel ... and the TV is working beautifully! Angie's List members, if you are tired of service repair people who up-charge at every opportunity...always stick with Angie's List service providers. I like Angie's rating system where we can rate and share experiences...and Johnny's TV Repair is a superb example of quality, professional service at reasonable prices.

Great! I called and Johnny was there the next morning with the correct parts. TV was only out of service 36 hours!

Our Samsung 52" TV suddenly started to lose the right half of the screen intermittently. We called Johnny, and when I gave him the model number over the phone, he recognized the problem and could likely repair it. He came out on a house call, removed the TV, performed the repair at his shop, tested it for many hours, and then returned the TV the next day, all fixed.

Out of the blue, my 64" Samsung plasma TV (PN64E8000) would not power on - yet it would still flash every 2-3 seconds, and when it stopped flashing, it would start clicking. I had to eventually pull the power plug out. I went to Angie's List to see who the best TV repair company was, and Johnny's TV Repair was at the top of the list. I didn't hesitate to schedule an online appointment. They responded within hours and asked me to call them with more details. After a brief call, I had an appointment scheduled for the next day. The technician arrived on time and was prepared to address my TV's problem. He said that they received 3-4 calls a week for similar issues. Within 30 minutes, my TV was repaired and the technician was heading out the door. I couldn't have asked for more a more professional and responsive experience. Thanks, Johnny's!

Everything went well. We are home now. TV is on the wall and is working fabulous!!!! They even fixed the frame coming away from the unit. Which has been that way since the service 4yrs ago.

I would give them A plus plus. They came to the house picked up the television, repaired it and put it back up. They did it all within four hours.

I emailed him with the details of the problem and he called me the next day (I did email him on a holiday). He said he recently had a similar encounter with another Panasonic TV and he explained that it was most likely not worth repairing the TV. Rather than try to take me a few bucks, he told me the situation and let me decide. I appreciate the honesty!

Plasma tv picture went out. I was upset but then I remembered I was a member of Angie's List and they probably had TV repair companies on it. I lucked out when I got Johnny's TV info. All I was getting a blank screen and some clicking noise and thought I would need a new one or have to have it taken in for repair (and all the finales are on!). Johnny was prompt the next day and immediately figured out the problem was with my cable box hook-up. I had it done a year or two ago but it was done incorrectly, bending a wire over time that caused the tv to lose the picture. Johnny fixed it immediately and explained/showed the problem and its solution, as well as telling me what to do if it happened again. What a relief! And he only charged the trip charge.

Called to get an estimate to repair a 55" Panasonic Plasma TV. Explained what happened to John and after telling him the number of times the power light blinked he knew this issue was related to a circuit board. Price quoted was $300-$350 depending on transistors that may need repair. Bettter than replacing this with a new 4K TV. They charge $59 for pickup and return delivery which was included in the quote and they picked up the TV the next morning. Called in the afternoon to tell me they had diagnosed the problem and repaired the TV --the cost was $300 (the low end of the original quote) and that they could deliver the same evening around 7:30pm. Wow! Johnny returned with the TV, reinstalled it on the wall mount, connected all the cables and cleaned the plasma screen with a cloth. Additionally, they calibrated the TV to provide the best picture for us. The screen actually appears better after the calibration. Very friendly and amazing service!! Here's why I think they're great: 1) Very friendly and professional 3) Fast! 2) Offered a reasonable quote 4) Pick-up, repair and delivery in the same day for our TV. YMMV.

After a less than positive experience with Samsung Customer Support I started looking for an independent television repair service provider. I found Johnny's TV Repair and couldn't be happier. After reading the many positive reviews here on Angieslist I checked Yelp and found the same thing there. I called on Saturday afternoon, spoke with John (owner) and made an appointment for the following day. I was thrilled to learn he would do a house call as I am not close to their shop. John arrived on time, performed a diagnosis and explained he would need to take the TV to his shop to perform more extensive diagnosis. He took the TV and explained I would receive a call by Monday or Tuesday with the details and cost to repair. Before leaving he gave me an estimate range. John called Monday afternoon, explained the problem and stated he could return it to me Monday night. John was at my house as promised and re-installed the TV. The cost was a bit higher than the estimate but John is a man of his word and charged me accordingly. I would absolutely recommend Johnny's TV Repair to anyone and will use them again should the need arise.

The gentlemen I dealt with at Johnny's (sorry, I forgot their names) were very polite and responsive. They came to my car and unloaded the large and heavy TV for me. Then, they explained the things that could cause the problem I was experiencing with the TV, from least to most complex and expensive. They told me they would order a part and install it in my TV, and if that did not solve the problem, they would not charge for the part, and they would call me for permission to perform a different repair (replacing the screen). Luckily, the replaced part did the trick, and I got my TV back after only two days. The cost was far less than I was expecting, AND a fraction of the cost that the LG repair service quoted me online. The best part is that this service is in my neighborhood, so I contributed to the local small business community by patronizing Johnny's. I will definitely refer others to this establishment.

Went very well.Guys that came out were very promt, respectful and professional. They were in and out in 40 minutes..They removed the 65 inch lcd samsung from its location on the fireplace, and opened up the back and serviced the connection that was loose, put everything back together, tested it and it works perfect now!! very happy with their services.would highly recommend.Thanks guys!!!

We recently moved across the country our TV just suddenly turned off and made a clicking sound. It wouldn't turn back on and the clicking sound even continued for a while after the power was disconnected. I called Johnny's TV repair and the could come out in the early afternoon. I went out to run a couple of errands and found that the TV was working fine. I called them to cancel, and they said if it happened again, just give them a call. Of course, it happened shortly after hanging up the phone with them, and they were able to come over at the original time. Then, of course again, it was working fine when they arrived, but the technician said, "watch this", tapped the set at a specific place on the back and the power went off again. He advised that this was a common problem with this particular set and he knew exactly what was wrong. Within a minute, he'd taken the back off, and was soldering the circuits on the power source (even tolerating our Italian Greyhound who was excited that someone was sitting down at his level) The whole repair took about 20 minutes; he put the set back together and tapped all over the set, with no problems. It's worked perfectly since. I couldn't have been happier with the repair, though it did cost over $200. ds

We almost bought ourselves with a new LED TV which is definitely not cheap and out of our budget. Until we thought of browsing through Angie's List of TV repair. We picked Johnny's TV Repair after reading all the good reviews and called the company around 8am, and got a 10 am appoinment. And guess what, our 10 year old 65" projection TV is back to life and much better and has crisp picture than before? Johnny gave us a lot of tips about TV maintainance and very knowledgeable about his profession. Did two troubleshooting and found the problem immediately. We are very very satisfied with his service and definitely will recommend it to our relatives and friends. One thing important before calling the company: you should give them very specific detail your TV's problem which we were fail to do prior to setting up an appoinment so that they can be prepared of what to bring before coming to your house. Thank you, Johnny for giving our TV, hopefully to enjoy it for another 10 years.

The repair person showed up on time and provided a cost estimate. The cost estimate to fix the TV was the same as purchasing a newer model of the same TV. The repair person provided a quote and offered to haul it away. He recommended purchasing a new TV.
