. We had an old water softener unit at the back of our house. He disconnected it and took off the old pipes that were on the house, tapped off where the water went into the house and put a little pipe there across the back. The faucets in our laundry were leaking. He took them apart and since our faucets were not the standard ones he had to go and get parts for those. I thought he was extremely competent and I was confident in his ability. He did a nice job. He fixed everything. He was fair and put the difference on the travelling for parts and stuff and he gave me an Angies List discount. He was an old style plumber guy and I would use him in the future.
Description of Work: . I had HENRIK PLUMBING to replaces the old pipes from the water softener unit and changed the parts of the leaking old faucet in the laundry.

I called Henrik on Monday (1/10/11). Jerry came on Wednesday and he immediately diagnosed the problem. He worked fast and was very professional. When the faucet stopped working, he went to the local hardware store and got me a new faucet. For all this work, he only charged me $300.00. I used Henrik before and I was very pleased with their work.
Description of Work: The hot water pipe underneath the sink next to the washer/dryer was leaking. Jerry changed both the hot/cold water pipes because they were so old. The faucet (which was old as the pipes) stopped working when the pipes were replaced, so Jerry went to the hardware store and got me a brand new faucet.

Since the house is on a slab all new pipes had to be redirected to attic space and across the house. The workers were efficient and prompt and very pleasant to have in the house. Three men did the work and the price included the plaster team who came in the last day and so professionally resealed all openings.Even the new bath and shower hardware that was installed is state of the art. I would definately recommend this company to any homeowner who needs this work done.

It went well, Henrik knew exactly what needed to be done and did it quickly. He was like a little ninja.
Description of Work: A water pipe burst in my back yard. Henrik came same day to fix my emergency. Instead of digging/repairing, Henrik suggested he just cap the line since it was only serving an exterior faucet at the end of my yard. This saved me a few hundred bucks. In addition, he helped me locate a sprinkler system I didn't even know I had (I just moved in). He also fixed the fitting on a leaky tub and made recommendations for other minor plumbing issues.

The job went very well. The Henkik people were very careful as to protecting the floors, rugs, fixtures, and furniture. Their routines seemed well-rehearsed, particularly with respect to cutting the copper tubing, removing the burrs from the tubing ends, and solderiing the joints. Whenever there were options as to the locations of pipes or breaking into walls, they asked if I had any preferences. The men who restored the walls were of the same caliber as the plumbers--careful, conscientious, and skilled. This has been one of my best experiences in having work done on my house.
Description of Work: We have a fifty-year-old ranch house with an attic crawl space. On Saturday my wife discovered a wet rug in the bedroom next to the water heater room in the center of the house. She contacted our plumber who arrived on Monday and suspected a leak in the cold-water supply pipe possibly in the slab. I wondered about the advisability of copper repiping and he agreed in view of the age of the house and that other such leaking pipes might appear in the future, considering the age of the house. He estimated that it would probably cost something like 8 to 10 thousand dollars just for the plumbing and something more for repairing the walls which would have to be opened up to get to the pipes. He indicated it would take at least six days to do the repiping. I enquired as to whether the pipes distributing water throughout the house could be placed in the attic crawl space rather than on the roof and he said no. He claimed to have experience in copper repiping with the plumbing company he had previously worked for. I decided to contact repiping plumbers on Angies List and obtain further information. On Tuesday the CEO of Henrik Plumbing came out who impressed me with his knowledge and experience. He indicated that they not only did the repiping but also restored the broken-into walls to paintable conditions. He said the repiping could be accomplished in two days and could be started on the following thursday. He also said that the piping could run through the attic crawl space rather than on the roof. I contracted with Henik Plumbing to do the job, the plumbers arrived on Thursday morning, and the plumbing part of the job was completed on Friday. The restoration of the walls was accomplished on the following Monday.

I really can't say enough nice things about Henrik Plumbing. They just completed a total copper re-piping job for us on our home which was built in 1936. Needless to say, it was not an easy job - but the Henrik team was able to get things completed in just a few days. From start to finish - it only took three days to complete. We did both the incoming waterlines (yes all the way from the street, through our yard and into the house) as well as the drain lines - so it was a huge undertaking. The piping team came in - did the necessary demolition and piping - and then the patching crew came immediately afterward. They even had an electrician come in to address a small electrical issue that arose during the work. The team was amazingly courteous and professional - they saw to every detail - and took great care with our home and belongings. Gary even introduced us to a great painter who was able to repaint all the areas of our home - Look - repiping is no vacation - but honestly, when you have to do it - there is no better outfit than Henrik. I have so much more peace of mind now - and am thrilled with the great results A+

They also did a full drain system. My mom's house is just a little over fifty years old, and they said nothing had been done in fifty years. It had multiple issues that they fixed completely. There were leaks everywhere, I mean, we didn't really realize the extent of everything but they finished the patching yesterday and did an amazing job. We always use them.

The house was built in 1920s, the plumbing was very old and had to be replaced. There was a broken pipe and seepage inside the walls of two stories. The plumber who did the emergency repair put holes in the wall upstairs, downstairs and outside to find damage, about 7 small holes in the walls, and there was 1 large hole caused by the dripping water in the basement. A decision was made to just replace all the pipes. We called 4 plumbers for estimates. Henrik's offered a good price for the entire job including the patching. They have excellent references and their specialty is copper re-piping. The gentleman who came over and gave the quote was thorough, answered every question we asked, and explained exactly what kind of materials he would use, the number of staff, and length of time it would take to complete the job. He invited us to inspect the materials before installation. He included patching of all the existing holes in the pricing. The workers came on time, were on task for the entire 8 hours, except a half hour for lunch. They were clean and cleaned up the work area after each day's work. The workers were as quiet as they could be under the circumstances, no radio, no loud talking, very professional. The job took 2 1/2 days, after which they did a thorough walk through. Very, very pleased with the results. It is a joy having such an open and professional company to work with.

Henrik's plumbing saved the day - and on a Sunday even. I really appreciated how quickly Gary rounded up one of his guys (Ararat) to come out and deal with a burst pipe in our front yard. We would have had to have been without water for the better part of the day if they hadn't been able to swing out and take care of it. They quickly found the right replacement part, and did a quick swap of the piece. They were very quick to respond, on time, and efficient. My husband and I were both very pleased with the good work that was done.

This is not an experience for the faint of heart, but when it is time to do it, there is no choice. Get someone who will do it right the first time and do it quickly. Only one other company I found met my criteria, and they were unable to respond as quickly as Henrik. Try to arrange for the four days (or however many your need) to be contiguous. Think of everything you want replaced during the job and get it priced in (Henrik included shower fixtures, but not bathroom or kitchen faucets). You must take everything out of the bathrooms and kitchen, and cover anything close by. In some cases they will need to access sink and shower pipes by breaking through the drywall behind them. Try to find out anticipate where this will be, and empty those areas as well. Fill some containers with water to meet your needs, in case some plumbing is not turned on after the first day. When the job is finished, there will be drywall powder all over and the disorder caused by moving stuff out, and the water has a bad smell for a few days because the pipes are new. I highly recommend Henrik Plumbing for this work. The plumbers and patchers are polite, intelligent, hard-working people who really seem to want to make the experience as painless as possible for you and to do the best job with the best-quality parts. As a retired experimental physicist I have had the pleasure to work with many talented technicians and research assistants over my career. The people from Henrik Plumbing rank right up there with the best of them.
Description of Work: Complete copper repiping (except the main line to the house from the water company mains) of 2000 sq. ft., two-bath home built in 1968. The plumbing work was performed over two days, with a third day to get the City Inspector to inspect the work, and a forth day for the drywall patching. Two plumbers and three patchers did the work. They arrived on time, worked incredibly hard all day, kept the mess to a minimum, cleaned up, and carried away the waste at the end of each work day. This company uses no subcontractors, so problems with unpaid/disgruntled subcontractors are averted. The plumbing appears to be of top quality, and even the City Inspector commented that their work of unusually high quality and completeness (not to mention Code compliance!). Except for needing repainting, the drywall patching really left no evidence that there had ever been any holes.

Henrik Plumbing installed a garbage disposal in my kitchen 9 months ago. A few days ago it stopped turning on. I called them to schedule an appointmet to see what the problem was. I was told it would be two weeks before they could see me. I told the dispatcher I felt that was far too long for a vendor to force a customer to wait for a repair that was potentially caused by the vendor in the first place. My sink had stopped draining and had standing water in it. If she couldn't fit me into her schedule in the next few days I would have to call another plumber and never use her company again. The dispatcher looked back at her schedule and said, "Ah, you're killing me. Okay, I can do it in ten days." Not good enough. I went back to the List and called the first plumber closest to me. He was here within an hour and charged half the cost.
Description of Work: Henrik Plumbing installed a garbage disposal in my kitchen. They removed the old one which had stopped working and replaced it with a brand new one which I had purchased. The were simply pulling an old one out and putting in a new one in.

Response from HENRIK PLUMBING
WE MOSTLY DO REPIPING LIKE OUR WEBSITE SAYS. ALSO WHEN YOU PROVIDE PARTS TO A PLUMBER, YOU TAKE THE RISK OF THE PARTS NOT WORKING. HOWEVER, AFTER NINE MONTHS, YOU WOULD GUESS THAT WE DID THE JOB RIGHT. ALSO, A GARBAGE DISPOSAL IS NOT A TRASH CAN AND WATER DOES NOT CLOG DRAINS AND WATER DOES NOT PREVENT A GARBAGE DISPOSAL FROM TURNING ON. YOU PUT SOMETHING TOO BIG OR TOO MUCH GARBAGE IN THE DISPOSAL. AT HENRIK PLUMBING WE PRIDE OUR SELVES ON BEING THE BEST AT REPIPING AND THAT IS HOW WE DO BUSINESS. WE ARE NOT ALWAYS ABLE TO TAKE A SERVICE CALLS AND WE DO NOT CLAIM TO BE ABLE TO. OTHER COMPANIES PROMISE TO BE THERE IN 30-50 MINUTES, WE CANNOT AND WE DO NOT. WE ONLY HAVE 4 SERVICE MEN AND SOME TIMES THERE ARE WATER EMERGENCIES, LEAKS, FLOODS AND PEOPLE WITHOUT WATER. WE CHARGE 50-100 % LESS THAN OTHER COMPANIES BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE 20-30 PEOPLE SITTING IN A LINE-UP WAITING FOR THE NEXT CALL (AND CHARGE MORE). REPIPING IS WHAT WE DO BEST AND OUR ESTIMATES FOR REPIPING ARE ALWAYS FREE TO HOMEOWNERS. WE EVEN HAVE PRICE PROTECTION WARRANTIES. WE ALSO HAVE A HUGE ONGOING AND ON GROWING LIST OF HAPPY CUSTOMERS. AS REPIPING SPECIALISTS, WE ALSO PATCH THE WALLS WHEN WE FINISH WITH THE REPIPING JOB. ANOTHER COUPLE THINGS THAT MAKE US UNIQUE IS THAT WE CUT-OUT, REMOVE THE OLD PIPE AND HAUL IT AWAY AND PUT THE NEW PIPE IN THE EXISTING HOLES IF WE CAN. THIS PROTECTS THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF YOUR HOME.

I chose this company because their response time was awesome. They called me back within an hour and set the work time for the following day. The man who fixed the drain was very professional and punctual. He took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do and how long it was going to take. After the approximately 2 hour repair time, he told me he was done and did a really good of cleaning up. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I originally called about a total copper re-pipe. The estimator was very thorough and determined that I already had copper in the slab, and only needed to replace the main to solve my problem, versus trying to up sell me. I got two other bids and they were the cheapest by $500 to $800. They were prompt and efficient in getting the work done, and passed the inspection no problem. Highly recommended!!!

The representative who explained the Hernik company (Mr. Meyer) told me that they do copper re-pipe exclusively. And, that all the people who would be in my home would be their employee, which made me very comfortable. After a background check on the three companies I was considering, the choice was clear: Henrik. The first plumbing crew arrived exactly on scheduled and in less than half a day the entire plumbing work was finished. The lead man of the plumbing crew (Arthur) walked me through the house to inspect every place inside, and out of the house where they had worked. I signed a paper to show I approved the work. The next day a "patch" crew came to fix the holes made to allow the pipes to be removed and replaced. The largest hole was about 12" x 24". They expertly replaced the drywall and used tape and mud to seal the edges. When they dried they were ready to be painted. I highly recommend Henrik and suggest a Better Business Bureau check on anyone you consider for the job.
Description of Work: When I had a water heater replaced, another plumbing company (which does not do re-piping) pointed our how badly my pipes had corroded. I researched three copper re-pipe firms very thoroughly and picked Henrik because I was impressed with Mr. Richard Meyers knowledge, the fact that Henrik is an old established firm and they do not sub-contract the work. My two story house has two water heaters, a dishwasher, two bathrooms, a washing machine and 4 outside water faucets. All of my galvanized pipes were removed and taken away.
