I can't say enough about this company, specifically Roberto, who basically is the company and is in charge of everything. From start to finish, including choosing the fabric, the pick up of the sectional, the work done, and the return delivery, everything went very smoothly. We now have a beautiful brand new sectional. Roberto took steps such as finding the best foam for the cushions to completely alter what was a fairly sunken but wonderful couch into a full and well stuffed wonderful couch. His advice on fabric, and overall patience and good nature made this whole project a delight. We would use him again in a second (in fact we plan to have him reupholster our dining room chairs very soon.)

I have an old large 3 person sofa that has been through a couple of sets of puppies and was completely destroyed (fabric ripped, underlying cushions chewed through). However, the sofa was about 25 years old and well made with a solid wood frame, originally quite expensive. After some research it was clear to me that it was worth repairing it rather than going to find a new one. I found Dand R Upholstery on Angies List, people seemed to think their prices were very fair and that was important to me. Robert from Dand R asked me to email him some pictures and gave me a rough estimate over the phone. He then came to my house, bringing fabric samples with him. This was a real boon to me because I was extremely busy at the time and getting to his studio to go through fabric samples would have been difficult (although obviously he has way more choices there than he can bring in his truck). He helped me go through the fabrics, I wanted something that didn't have to be dry cleaned because I knew the dogs would still go on the sofa. I also told him I needed the cushions redesigned so that they would be softer. The sofa was perfect when it came back, the cushions were completely different. It cost less than I thought it would, especially since there was at least another 3 yards of fabric for the dog cover (which goes over the whole sofa and has ties on each side). Plus they made two throw pillows. They had to carry the sofa up and down my driveway because it is too hard to access with a truck. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. I won't go to anyone else for this kind of work and can't recommend them enough.

Roberto's workmanship is amazing. I found him on Angie's list and based on his great feedback I contacted him through email for a price based on detailed dimensions and pictures. He prompltly sent a reply with price. He picked up the chairs exactly when he said he would and called to deliver them before he promised. He did an amazing job and I would highly recommend him and I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Roberto was great. He was very nice, his prices were more than reasonable--I actually gave him more money than he asked for---and the work was excellent.

Roberto picked up my chair and returned it when finished. He did an excellent job, and the work was completed earliear than he promised. This was an excellent experience from start to finish and the chair looks beautiful.

The chairs were not only exactly as ordered, the attention to detail was amazing, and the extras were above and beyond our expectations. The pillows were perfect. We get many compliments on the chairs, which sit in our great room. Every step of the way, Roberto worked with us closely. The only problem is that occasionally email exchanges required a telephone call for followup and confirmation, but this was a minor annoyance, and frankly, the telephone exchanges were helpful to get everything exactly straight. Roberto is personable, honest, and eager to please the customer. His attitude and performance define the word "service."

excellent job! The couch, chair and ottoman look fabulous! last time I paid a decorator 4 times more for less quality work. I bought the fabric at Diamond Foam, which I highly reccomend! The refinishing of the table and bar stool was amazing - looks like nothing was ever wrong with either. They are very professional, courteous , professional and very well -priced

I can't begin to express how WONDERFUL Roberto was. He is very professional and friendly. First I stopped by his office after reading his great reviews on Angie's List. We made an appointment, he came to my house to see the couches. He brought fabric samples. He was very patient as we looked over the materials. When we got it down to a few, he was helpful in giving us his thoughts. We made our decision, a few days later he came back to pick up the couches. Due to other work being done in our house I asked if he could keep them for two weeks. He did. Today he brought over the couches. They are beautiful. We had told him the only reason we were keeping the second couch was because our dog loves to sit on it and look out the window. To our surprise, he added an additional fitted cover where the previous couch was completely warn out because of our dog. That was so sweet and thoughtful!

Fantastic experience. Roberto was friendly, responsive, and honest. And he knows his craft; the chair is absolutely perfect. He not only did a great job with the upholstery; he also refinished the wood, tightened all the springs (not a single squeak), and even made arm sleeves with the extra fabric left over. All this for a very reasonable price that was right on the estimate. I'd go back to him in a heartbeat.

Roberto provided me a quote via email after seeing photos of my chairs. He told me exactly how much fabric I would need and where to shop for my fabric. I obtained quotes from 6 other companies and his prices were the best and his fabric estimate was right on (other companies were asking for as much as 10 more yards of fabric then he quoted, which is expensive when you're paying $50 per yard). He provided free pick-up and delivery and was right on time. He was honest, friendly and did AMAZING work!! I highly recommend Dand R and Roberto.

Based off of other Angie's List reviews, I visited Robert's shop and took him pictures and measurements of two vintage 60's barrel chairs to be re-upholstered. The store is one open square storefront so I could see everything he was working on around me. We discussed time, fabric and cost. He had fabric samples but based on price and quality, I decided to buy my own fabric on La Brea. I called him later that week for pick-up. He was absolutely on-the-dot punctual and was driving the van to pick up the chairs himself (no extra charge for pick-up although I do live 3 miles from his shop in the 90004 zip). He was a little surprised when he saw the chairs and exactly how bad the sprung spring was in one chair. He explained that if he just re-did that one spring and left the other chair as-is that the two chairs would look and feel pretty differently. I ok'ed him to do what he needed to do and he assured me the price was not going to be much different. We agreed on 1.5 weeks turn-around time. (I was in no rush so I was OK with 1 week + and didn't request a specific timeline.) On the appointed day, I drove by his shop. The chairs were done and BEAUTIFUL but he had still to do the arm covers. We agreed on a time the next day for delivery. He was there as punctually as he was before to drop off the chairs wrapped in plastic. The one positive/negative was that he generously overestimated the amount of fabric I would need for the chairs so now I have 1 yard+ left-over. Of course, now I plan to take 2 other chairs to Robert and have him use the fabric up on those and cover some pillows! He is great. I'm definitely going to work with him again. He's honest, reliable, professional and pleasant to work with.

The experience was just great all the way around. Roberto the owner was quick to respond to messages, by phone or e-mail, very friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable, the work was done in 11 days (the estimate was 2 weeks), and the pieces look brand new. He restuffed the bottom cushions. He and his helper picked up and delivered, and they helped us move furniture around. Really, couldn't have been better.

Roberto, the owner was extremely friendly and professional when I first called his shop. I explained what I needed to have done and of course, this was something that he could do very easily. I met him the next day w/ my cushions. Once in his shop I could see other work similar to what I needed. I was able to sit on the type foam that I wanted on my dining room chairs. Roberto also explained to me the necessary replacement of webbing and finally the undercover material that he would be using for the finish. The price was discussed and the amount of time he would need to complete the work. I tried to leave a deposit of $100.00 but he said "no", wait until the work is done and you are satisfied. Short of a week I was back to pick up my cushions and pay the agreed amount.....and was very very pleased w/ the finished cushions. The delicate fabric was perfect as was the work.

After finding D and R on Angie's List, I called and spoke with Roberto. He answered the phone promptly, was very polite and gave me the information I needed. I dropped by the store, described what I was looking for and he came up with the perfect suggestion on fabric. He came by at the promised time, picked up the chairs and returned the repaired chairs in two days (his original estimate had been six days). The work was excellent and I was very happy with the quality of work. The final came out be slightly higher than originally estimated but honestly, the difference was negligible. I strongly recommend Roberto and D and R for any upholstering work! Two thumbs up!

This company was a pleasure to work with. Roberto was always willing to accommodate my schedule. While the actual work took longer than expected, mostly the delay was caused by the fabric-bonding company. It was an easy experience from beginning to end.

Roberto came by and gave me an estimate and showed me material swatches. When I told him I found him on Angie's List, he gave me a nice discount. He took the chair away in his truck and brought it back a week later. The chair is beautiful. It is like new. I am very happy.

The experience with Dand R was just wonderful. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner and lived with ugly, tattered couches for so long. I phoned Roberto and he gave me a telephone estimate for the job, told me how much fabric to purchase. I found a great deal on the fabric, came home and Roberto was there within 2 hours to pick up my sectional and the fabric. He delivered the finished pieces in a week... and did not charge me a dime extra for the 6 pillows that they covered for me. Delivery was exactly on time, he and his helpers could not be more pleasant or professional. I am recommending Dand R to all my friends and am now eying cast off chairs and stuff lying by the side of the road, just so I can have them redone by Dand R.

From the moment I first called Roberto---he was always polite and professional. He arrived on time to give me an in home estimate. I was so impressed, I hired him on the spot. He was able to immediately take my chairs to be rebuilt and reupholstered. He said it would take two weeks---it, actually ended up taking less...he was incredibly reasonable...and he does great work!
