I had an outstanding experience working with Magic Sun Solar.  Oscar, who does the sales visits, was extremely knowledgeable and communicated very clearly about what they recommended and why.  I had been considering solar electric for quite a while prior to obtaining estimates, and did a lot of research about the different options (leasing, central or line inverter, optimizers, and micro inverters).  Oscar could address all of my concerns and supply supporting research when I was interested.  He presented three different options at different price points and with different production characteristics.  While microinverters should be a bit more expensive than the other options, their quote actually came in lower than a local competing company that uses an optimizer based system and advertises heavily in the local press.  The other company's representative also clearly lacked the ability to answer technical questions the way Oscar could, and sent me references that did not apply to an issue I was asking about.  
I had contact with three company employees--Oscar, Jim and Adam.  All three exhibit the same personable, knowledgeable, competent and flexible characters that I value.  They obtained all the necessary permits and submitted the PG&E application.  The installation went perfectly smoothly and the system has been producing exactly as predicted.  The Enphase Enlighten software is very easy to use in order to monitor your system and all of its elements.  
I recommend Magic Sun to anyone I meet who is considering a solar electric system, and I would absolutely use them again if I become interested in expanding my installation (e.g., to add an EV charging system).

I ended up getting 5 Quotes because the first 2 I did not care for. Oscar the company sales person showed up when scheduled.
 I thought I knew what I wanted and what would work. Oscar educated me on how the solar system would work and what to expect. They were not my cheapest quote but I felt very comfortable with the company. I hired them to do the job. They got the permit from the county and started work on the agreed day. Brandon the owner of the company was out at the job twice at the start. The system was installed where I would get the best production. The installation crew showed up on time and worked all day. They had to trench over 300 feet in mostly just rock. The Install crew was very professional. The entire job took 4 days mostly due to the trenching difficulty.  They started the system up and I was producing electricity They installed 36 LG.solar panels with 36 enphase micro inverters. I am able to monitor what my system is producing in real time on my home computer.It has been an excellent experience using Magic Sun Solar and I highly recommend them.

After talking to several solar companies I chose Magic Sun Solar.  Oscar was the most knowledgeable person I spoke with. He described everything in detail and in such a way I didn't need an electrical engineering degree to understand the system. We used my prior electric bills to determine the size of the panels. He also knew right away I would need a variance because of where I wanted to place the panels. He described that process to me and their success rate. I was given multiple options of what kind of panels to choose and where they were made. And because I delayed the start of the project Magic Sun was able to get me newer more efficient panels with no additional cost. The project went without a hitch. My house is under construction so we worked with Oscar to have the array installed before I move in so I can start earning credits. I will have a very sizeable credit when I move into the house in a few weeks. If you are considering going solar, do yourself a favor and talk to Oscar. I already referred my family to them and he installed at my moms house very successfully.
