Joe's and his whole team are amazing. They were fast, efficient, trustworthy and got my car back up and running quickly. I diagnosed what I thought was wrong with the car when I took it in and Joe was thoughtful and listened. He fixed the problem quickly and even did a recharge on my air conditioning at no charge! 
This will definitely be the place that takes care of my car for as long as I live in Long Beach.

My Honda was stalling at low speeds, they diagnosed the problem, gave it an overdue tuneup and oil change and cleaned the injectors. They gave me a ride to the shop, the car ran well afterwards, and I was pleased with the service.

It went ok overall. They were more pricey and took longer than expected. I think with most mechanics being fair is a difficult task. I felt in this category it was ok and thus made my overall rating ok.

Mazda dealer was unable to identify why air conditioning was not functioning.  Joe's Auto was highly rated on Angie's List so I took my car in and they were able to identify the problem within a couple hours.  The air conditioner was repaired the same day and is working great!  I will continue to take my vehicles to Joe's Auto Service.

My brakes suddenly started making a bad noise.  I stopped at Joe's late on a Friday afternoon to ask about it.  His mechanic drove it and said the speed sensor was out and it was not safe to drive.  My elderly mother was very ill and I could not be without a car in case I had to go to her home over the weekend.  Joe made sure I had another car to use and thanks to him I was able to be with my mother when she passed away that weekend.  The car was fixed a day early because they stayed late when the part came in to install it.  I've used Joe for several years and I've never had any reason to question his work.  He is a scrupulously honest business man and a good person.  I'll continue to use and to trust him with any car I may have and to recommend him without reservation to everyone.

Thru AAA California I was able to get an oil change and tire rotation for $35.00.  Can not beat the price.  They were quick and professional.  They dropped me off at home and picked me up when the car was ready.  Can not beat the price or the service.

Very well.  Took car in without appointment at 8am.  Quickly checked me in, gave me a ride back to my home and called me with full estimate in about one hour.  Had the car done at the appointed time later that afternoon.  Picked me up and home to take me back to the shop. The true test of a business is when all does not go well and how they handle your problem then.  After receiving the car back the engine was not running well.  Took it back the next morning.  They apologized and said they would take care of it.  Gave me a ride back home and called later that morning to advise it was a computer reset problem which they corrected.  Gave me a ride home and picked me up again.  No additional charge. Good people.  Good service.  I will go back again.

I did not trust my prior mechanic because my car kept running out of oil between scheduled oil changes even though I didn't notice a leak.  I took it to Joe's of an oil change and they immediately discovered the problem.  Ozzy explained the issue thoroughly and showed me the damaged parts.  Since the repair was taking longer than the expected il change, they drove me back to work and picked me up when it was completed.  Everyone I met was friendly and courteous.  There was also a noticeable difference in my car.  It runs like new again.

Overall the experience was excellent. Ozzy kept me informed every step of the way and also explained in detail everything that was done when i picked up the car. He explained services that I would need in the near future along with upgrades I could make to the car that would give me the best driving experience if I plan on keeping the car. I even got a coke when I came to pick up the car. Other than giving me the repairs for free I couldn't have asked for anything more. I am not too experienced with auto repairs and I'm not sure if the price I paid was high or low, Hopefully you can tell for yourself by the services i listed above. What I do know is I never felt like I was getting screwed at all, and drove out of the shop feeling I paid a fair price for excellent quality service and when it comes to auto repairs that is a feeling I cant recall ever feeling before. I've been driving around for over 2 weeks now and the shaking is completely gone and the car is a pleasure to drive again.

I have liked everything about them so far, and so has my husband. The shop is spotless - clean, neat and ordered. The gentlemen that work there are warm, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They do extra things. They buffed out the side of the wheel well on the rear left side, because he had scraped something. They were able to buff it out and get this extra color off. So far, all the positives I have read from Angie?s List about them seem to be true. They seem very eager to please clients. They are very accommodating. I would not hesitate to ask questions because they answer them. They would have driven us home if the service had taken long; that facility is nice, especially since we don?t live all that close. They are straightforward - they tell us what something is, what should be done and what shouldn?t be done. They really don?t compare themselves to anybody else. They tell us what they do. Their mechanics are certified, such that they have taken all the tests to work on, say a Nissan or a Toyota, as opposed to a Cadillac. They know what they are doing. They get all of the service upgrades for all of the vehicles, so they are up on top of things, because if they don?t have that, then we run a risk, especially if there is warranty work involved, of causing a problem. They are AAA rated. This is where the auto club recommends that we come in if there is a mechanical problem, as of an accident. There is a 10% discount for AAA members. Our experience has been nothing but positive so far. I am going to take my vehicle in to them for a service next week.

Great service; timely and professional. Unfortunately they made a mistake and forgot to tighten one of my last bolts that holds on my drivetrain after they'd removed it and they were putting everything back. I drove out of town for work and noticed a funny sound and another mechanic found the problem and fixed it. Went back to Joe and he honored his warranty and gave me the money back that I'd paid to the other mechanic to fix my problem. I've since used them again and no issues :)

Fantastic service! Everyone was so friendly there and they said it would take a couple hours and they finished in only one hour. We were so (pleasantly) shocked to learn the price - we have been overpaying significantly at the dealership for the same service! We will be going to Joe's from now on.

I had been putting off replacing the pump because although my truck was very noisy, the truck steering was not a problem. I had taken my truck to the dealership a while ago to get a diagnosis and estimate. It was way too much money for a truck that was running fine (you could hear me coming a mile away tho!) When my check engine light came on, I knew it was time to find a mechanic. Joe's shop is very deserving of all the great reviews here. He took my truck in right away and called back that very afternoon with an estimate. It was very reasonable. He found the Ford recommended part for the Evac System and Power Steering Pump. He had my truck back to me the next day. I felt he was very honest in the problems of my truck and the needs of the repair. My boyfriend is now taking his car in for it's air conditioning problems. Car problems are not fun but Joe made the whole process easy. It's nice to know there is a great auto repair here in Long Beach.

I have been with Joe for over seven years now. I just joined Angie's List so this is my first opportunity to give Joe a glowing review. Joe is the best, most trustworthy car mechanic I have ever met. He is always honest. If he tells you you need a repair it is because you need it. I'll never forget the time I went to the Toyota dealer for a service because it was close to work and they told me I needed new brakes. I took the car to Joe for a second opinion and he said I didn't need brakes at all. He could have made money off of me easy. He told me he would rather have a customer for life. He does. He has Saturday hours, he'll always take me on a drop in basis and usually does the work the same day. He'll have someone drive you to work and even pick you back up if you need it. He has bought me tires and junked a car for me. I cannot recommend Joe highly enough. If you need your car fixed, take it to Joe. You will not be disappointed.

The service was quick and effective. I work in downtown Long Beach so the garage had someone drive me to work. Within 90 minutes, I received a call with an estimate for the work for approximately $500. By 4:00 pm, the garage called me and told me the car was ready. They picked me up when I was ready and gave me details about the repair. He noted optional repairs, but did not put any pressures on me to do the repairs given the age of the car. Overall, I thought Joe was very professional and I would definitely go back.

I left my car in the morning and Joe drove me to work. He called me during the day to tell me how much the work would cost and to ask if I wanted him to get the smog check done. I greatly appreciated his doing that. He called again when the work was done and he came to pick me up when I was ready to pick the car up. I really have no comparison for the price but Joe was very professional and the car runs well. He didn't tell me that a lot needed to be done, just to run up the price. This was the second time I have used his service and I was happy both times.

We are car-illiterate at our house, so we are sitting ducks to be ripped off. Not here. We have used Joe's Auto Center four times, all with the same happy result: completed when promised; price reasonable. No tacked-on charges. Clean car-- well, no dirtier! One time, he found a potentially serious problem we would never have caught until it became so expensive we probably would have had to total the car. He has lectured me about not relying on the towing guy's guess on the source of a problem, telling me that I am a professional in one field and he's a professional in his field, and I should rely on him (I do!) Know how people circulate emails in a office, seeking a plumber, or recommending a painter? (A mini-Angie's List!) Well, people in my office now go to Joe's. If you work in downtown Long Beach, his location (on LB north of Willow; on the west side of Memorial Hospital)is great because the Blue Line or a bus (or his offer of a ride) will get you to work quickly.
