On the escrow inspection there were 22 findings but they did not recommend tenting.  However, one year later, while under their warranty (which only covered spot treatments), they recommended tenting which would have cost us thousands of dollars.  Our home progressively got worse under their care.  On several occasions, they wouldn't go under the house or in the attic unless we insisted.  Most recently, our home was being painted and the contractor found significant termite damage on the siding.  This is something that was visible and accessible yet Cal Coast did not discover it.  The structural pest control board said that because the initial inspection was more than two years old, there was nothing they could do.  In addition, because we had some of the siding removed, the structural pest control board couldn't help.  However, they did say that Cal Coast did a terrible job.  I had two other termite companies inspect my house and they too said Cal Coast's work was substandard.  One final point I'd like to make is that about one year ago, they sent their employee to our home and he thought he was sent to do an inspection.  When I told him  he was supposed to be treating termites, his response was that he wasn't asked to do that.  I told him I would be contacting his office who scheduled the treatment.  While I was on the phone downstairs, he slammed our front door and left.  This is why I gave professionalism an F.  Ultimately, Cal Coast did not take responsibility for their poor workmanship.

The Crew arrived on time and did a very professional job.  The Sub-Termites are now gone as well.

WE HAVE AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR $250/YEAR FOR TERMITE INSPECTION AND TREATMENT.

In 2010 I discovered I had termites in my Hollywood Hills home so I contacted several licensed exterminators to get bids for the work.  The original  work, by Cal Coast Termite and Pest Company cost several thousand dollars.and consisted of "local" treatment of areas underneath and in other locations in my house.  At that time they didn't offer tenting type fumigation.  Bids for that, from other companies, were more expensive but Cal Coast had a very slick video and sales pitch which was intended to imply that the local spraying was every bit as effective or even MORE effective than the tenting type approach.  When they came to do the work they informed me they "no longer used that method" described in the video where they drilled holes in walls and ceilings and floors and sprayed the fumigating liquid inside to reach hidden termite pockets that otherwise could not be reached.  Instead, they only sprayed areas that were easily reached by crawling under the house and which they could directly visualize.  I was uneasy when they left that my house was STILL infested with termites.  It took less than a yr. for direct evidence of termites to turn up again.  Now they come once a year, for approx. $265, and spray the area where I first found termites.  They have given me an estimate, NOW, to tent my house for approximately $3,500.  But after wasting most of the initial investment back in 2010 on an ineffective treatment, I am now trapped in a contract of yearly inspection and local spraying for the price of about $260.  Remember, if you have a "free" termite inspection and pests are found, your house is RED TAGGED until a certified termite company treats it.  If you do find yourself in this situation, don't waste time and money (as I did with Cal Coast Termite of Long Beach) and go ahead with a reputable company that will tent your house and fumigate it.  Yes, that is a hassle involving removing food, pets, etc. for three days before you can move back in.  I suppose Cal Coast Termite and Pest is able to do the tenting adequately now but their misleading advertising of a few years ago and poor initial treatment have left me not much better off than when I first used them back in 2010.  My house is STILL infested and I am enrolled in a constant, ongoing, contract with annual, costly, "treatments" for a problem they should have eliminated in the first place.

Their service was good. They were prompt and polite. The tenants had no problem working with them. The office was efficient.

They did excellent work. Their customer service is good and they are honest. When they were helping me with some pest control around the house, they didn’t recommend more than what was needed.

They get an "A" for responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. They were easy to work with and went right out to the property as soon as they could. I have no idea whether their prices are fair or not, as I have no one to compare them with. Seemed okay to me. Quality was good except for the staircase, so "B." Overall: A-.

It was horrible. They are liars and crooks. The guy that came out quoted $2900 for the work. Another company quoted me $1750. When they followed up, I asked about the price difference. He negotiated with me and said they would do the work for $1750. I was a little leery of working with them since they were willing to lower the price so much. He assured the same service would be done and would be done correctly. When he did the work, he didn’t seal up all the access points. The next day, we were hearing the same noises in the attic. He also promised to spray for roaches downstairs and said he would come back the following day to do it at 8am. My boyfriend missed work so he could be there and ask about the holes in the attic. When he didn’t arrive at 8am, I called him. He said he was a half hour away. He still never showed up. At 10:30am, I called the office. They said there was no way he could come out that day, he was already booked. So he flat out lied to me. And they still haven’t finished the attic.

We have used them for 20 years. It’s been the same owner and if there is a problem, he takes care of it. The techs have had varying levels of expertise over the years. But, he is very responsive.

It was alright. I wasn’t too happy about one of the patch jobs they did. When I called about it, they weren’t too responsive.

We like them and will continue to use their service. I liked their customer service.

They did the work and it was done properly.

    I guess won't know for sure for several months.But intial treatment went fine.they seemed to be thorough.

I had a good experience with them. Their prices and the quality of their work was fine.

We have used this service for over 10 years. And, while fumigation has always been recommended in their written report, we have never opted for that treatment, and there has never been any serious pressure put on us to do so. We have no experience with their pest control service, but the same person does that work, and they are always very professional.
