Belmont Shore Veterinary Hospital

I came in for the first time this past Saturday. My puppy had an irritated and tearing right eye. The vet that worked with him was very sweet, Margaret Kang. She recommended three medications to help his eye heal. The clinic was out of stock for one of the medications, Remend gel. So Margaret gave me a prescription and recommended I order it from Chewy or any other online pharmacy. So I took her advice and placed an order with Chewy. Because it’s an online pharmacy, they require a hard copy of the prescription from the individual ordering it, meaning I would have to snail mail in the prescription (which would take at least two weeks with the craziness going on at the postal service now) or the vet could email them a copy of the prescription they wrote me. Chewy only allows the vet clinic to email the prescription. I called the vet clinic Monday to see if they would email a copy of the prescription to Chewy. I spoke with Sam. She refused to do so (which goes against everything a vet clinic is because they are depriving my puppy the chance to get his medication sooner!). Sam claimed that its policy. However, right after this phone call, I called Broadway Pet Clinic to see if they have any Remend Gel in stock. The individual I spoke with said that the vet clinic should email Chewy, that it is the fastest way to get the medicine! How is it that Broadway Pet Clinic has the animals health in mind but Belmont Shore Vet Clinic doesn’t?? Before you waste your money here, go to Broadway Pet Clinic. That is where I am now scheduling my follow up for my puppy’s ulcer. I have no doubt I’ll get better service there and my puppy will actually get taken care of.

It has been terrific- it is four doctors and they took over a practice for the absolute best veterinary person I have ever encountered and every body in my area has ever encountered. So far, they are holding it up. It is  expensive but every veterinary place is expensive. I like the doctors and my cat has not had a problem.The staff are friendly and professional in a laid back way- it is not acutely efficient- they are dealing with people and people with sick or damaged pets. I would recommend them. Dr. Sitler is the doctor that I go to- she has a delightful personality and has a knack with my cat. I got an up to date flee medication that was expensive but the bill is $70. I have never had an issue. They are professional and good enough that if I had a problem, I would feel comfortable taking a full baby in there.

We went to see this vet based on location and that they offered a free initial visit for pets w/coupon. We brought in two cats, who had no health problems, the vet was nice, and we were excited to think we had a vet around the corner. The checkout was shocking, the clerk was rude, noting that only on animal could use the coupon, in spite of the lack of information about the exclusion on the coupon. The total for a well pet visit exceeded anything we had experienced for sick animals. We would never go back.

It was easy to get an appointment -- I went the same day that I called. The employees and doctor were very professional, helpfula nd friendly. I am sure that they "ooh" and "ah" over all of the pets, but it's nice to hear it. Like a vets, they try to sell you a lot of things you don't need ("puppy socialization" got the hard sell in my case), but like a lot of come-ons, you need to evaluate each one and decide if the product or service is for you. I wasn't interested, but someone else might be. I will continue to see them because the facility is very clean and the staff and doctors are great.

So far so good. With three pets, we've been happy with our visits and thorough diagnoses.

We love Belmont Shore Vet. Their staff is extremely professional and helpful, their offices are clean and welcoming and their prices are fair. They have an online "pet portal" which allows you to view your pets' health records, where you can set reminders to be emailed to you so that you don't miss any due dates, and where you can request appointments. They are extremely attentive and take care to call you following a procedure to make sure your pet is doing well. We highly recommend them.

My overall experience was excellent. The staff is great and the doctor is outstanding. They are caring and sympathetic. I feel like they are not trying to get us to do a bunch of test or sell us things we don't need, which has been my experience at other places.
