My basement flooded due to a leak in the flex tube above my water-heater. I initially called my regular plumber who gave me an estimate to replace the whole thing for over $1500. I knew I should be able to do much better than that. I checked Angie's List and found a plumber with high ratings. Instead of a replace, all I needed was a repair and to suck the standing water out of the basement. I went with Action Services and was pleased with the services provided. The gentleman that came out was very professional and got the job done in about three hours.

Frank came as promised. Had to cope with unexpected obstacles to perform his work, but managed everything very well.

Able to get a service date very quickly. Gil did a great (thorough) job in refurbishing the water heater. He was diligent in ensuring all aspects of the water heater were working appropriately. We appreciate his professionalism and wonderful sense of humor.

Excellent! Tech was to arrive between 12-4 pm; arrived at 11:55 am! Explained what was to be done and why.

Mr. Frank, the plumber, was on time, courteous and professional. He drained the water heater and replaced the anode and the valve.

Arrived early which was very much appreciated. Technicians was kind and knowledgeable and asked if there was anything else he could help with.

Mr. Frank, from Action Services, got stuck on a previous job, but when he arrived he knew just what to do and fixed the problem quickly and professionally.

Everything turned out great with Action Services. The crew was very professional and knowledgeable about there work. Overall, I was very happy with this company and would recommend them to others.

Through Angies List I bought the tankless water heater and Action Services was the installers. They came and scheduled the appointment. They showed up when they said they would and they installed it. That night I was walking past the location where it was installed and I heard a noise which I thought was unusual so I opened it and water was leaking all into the closet where it was installed. I came into the house and I called them. The phone number that was listed on the invoice went into a voice mail box. Then I called a phone number that was listed in the business card of the guy who came and did the installation and that was the same voice mail box but a different number.. I also send them an e-mail because I actually did not know what I should do. It could have reached them. As a safety precaution I turned off all the water to the house. I did not have any water through the course of that night. I was still trying to reach them when they said that their office would open an hour later. I called them again and left additional voicemails. I can’t actually remember when I actually connected because I kept calling them till somebody called me back. I told them what had happened and they said they are sending the guy and that he is in the parking lot getting ready to take off for the day and that they would sending him over here right away to check on it . But as it turned out he said that they told him something else. So they coming out the first thing in the morning was closer to mid day before he got here.. So then I was not able to turn the water on to my house because I did not know what the circumstances were. Finally he showed up. There was a pin hole in one of pieces of copper tubing he had installed. He replaced that piece of copper tubing. But when I talked to the people in the office there were a bit astonished that any plumbing company in the Universe would not have an emergency number especially when something is going wrong with water. They did not actually have one of those. So the receptionist said that she is going to make a suggestion to her boss to get one of those. The tankless water heater worked really well since that time. But that part of the experience stands out in my mind. The first day that guy was here he told me that he is interested in doing something because our water here is really hard. I need to put something on to soften the water. He told me about this devise that their company recommends. He even gave a web site which I looked up. It sounded like it is the right thing for me. He said he would mention about this to the people in his office so that they could follow up and schedule it for that to be installed. But I never heard back from them on that. Whatever papers I needed to try and submit for any kind of State rebate for switching over to tankless water heater I should get them from that company and I have not got any. To tell the truth I felt like that if I call them they would not know what I was talking about. So I have not done that yet. Over all they did install and eventually worked though it was quite a pain. Price wise was actually an Angies List price which motivated me to buy. The quality of the product that I purchased is good but the quality of the work of those guys I would say I cannot say it is a total failure because they actually came back and fixed it. A company that deals with water must have an emergency number. As for professionalism also they failed. They had an opportunity to do follow up work with me and they did not pursue that. They did not have a number where I can get help when I really needed it. What I cannot understand is that if I have customer who is willing to corf out cash how can they miss that out. I will not call them back again.

The service was on time. He was professional, and explained the work to be done. Very professional !

Very professional, and listened to me talk, and I will be using them for all plumbing and any other services they have.

The plumber arrive on time and I showed him the work that needed to be done. He looked at both toilets and decided that the flappers were the cause of each leak in each respective toilet. He showed me pattern stains on the flappers that indicated water was slowly seeping through causing the toilet to leak. He stated that the flappers were the incorrect type and thus caused the leaks. He noted both toilet tank types and their model numbers. He then looked at the kitchen faucet and asked if I knew the model number and manufacturer of the faucet as the leak was likely caused by a worn cartridge or gasket. I told him I could get the parts as the faucet had a lifetime warranty. He said, "Good, I'll be back as I need to get some supplies to repair the toilet leaks." About 45 minutes later when he didn't show up I called to see if he had gotten lost. He said he had to go to a supply house to pick up the parts and would be back shortly. 15 to 20 minutes later (approximately an hour total), he arrived to install the 2 replacement flappers in the toilet tanks. He installed 1 of the flappers in the master bath and it appeared to fit properly without a leak. He tried to replace the flapper in the guest bath but indicated to me that the replacement parts for this type of toilet was discontinued. He reinstalled the original flapper back in the toilet and recommended replacing the toilet with a contemporary model: cost $375. His 2 hours were up and he charged me $14.60 for a toilet flapper. Cost: $113.60 Bottom Line: Both toilet tanks are still leaking. The "correct" toilet flapper that he took an hour to get did not work and has the same slow water leak. The toilet in the guest bath was never replaced so I still have that leak. He never tested or checked for leaks after he replaced the flapper - he assumed it would work. Unfortunately, I still have all 3 issues to repair.

Showed up on time for providing estimate. Showed up on time the next day to do the actual work. Completed all the work in a professional manner.

Action services did such a good job, I authorized another hour of service to connect an existing hose bib to the water supply, something that we'd been meaning to do for years

Plumber was punctual and courteous. I had three jobs for him: 1.) Replace shower head with a fancier one that I had purchased, 2.)extend an outside faucet valve for better convenience and 3.) replace toilet flushing mechanism. The last item was not repaired due to not having the proper parts (supplied by me). The plumber said that he would check with his supplier and get back to me - he never did call back. The above problem was corrected to my complete satisfaction. The company called me and apoligized for not following through as promised. They actually returned and installed a new toilet (provided by me) at no charge because of their concern for my negative report. The plumber was courteous and professional. He disposed of the old toilet and left my bathroom sparkling clean.

I was very impressed with the company. There was no delay in setting up an appointment. Gill the plumber was on time and efficient. He explained how the equipment works and what he had to do in order to set it up. He helped me with lighting the pilot lights on my old stove.

Gill is a perfectionist. He reconfigured the tankless so it was asthetically placed the best as possible. He did an amazing job. John, the owner came out to check on his work later. They are very kind people. They clean up very well.

The job was performed quick and clean. A total of three hours total including the repair.

Entire experience went well. Explained thoroughly the work and cost.

We were able to schedule an appointment within a couple of days. The technicians were friendly, professional, and thorough. They answered all of my questions and left the work site clean. They called to let me know when running late.

On August 1, 2011 I purchased the "Big Deal, " a tankless water heater. I called Action Services and was given an installation for the next day. At no time during this phone call did the secretary ask me how many bathrooms or bedrooms there were in my home. The next day, August 2, I arrived at around noon to find the old tank water heater removed but the new "tankless" one still in its container. I had a conversation with Gil in which he informed me that we would not need any additional plumbing work for the installation because the pipe met the 3/4 inch requirement. No electrical work was needed either. At no time during this conversation did Gil mention or ask anything about the number of bedrooms or baths in my home. About an hour later, the installation was complete and Gil had me sign the certificate of completion on which was written "Install Rheem Tankless 150,000 BTU 1-2 Bdr." I asked Gil about this, since there was an obvious problem in that my home has 4 bedrooms. He replied that it would "not be a problem as long as we did not have two showers and the dishwasher or washing machine running at the same time." When I heard this, I was suspicious, but said nothing. I had already paid, and the installation was complete. More importantly, I TRUSTED that since Action Services was an Angie's List recommendation, that I had nothing to worry about. He had me fill out a questionnaire asking me to rate my experience. I gave him good marks because he was courteous and took time to check out the operation of the unit. He told me that he would appreciate it if I would give him all top marks because it would "look good on Angie's List." A few days later, i decided to call Action to inquire about the discrepancy I had noticed on the invoice. I spoke to the secretary who referred me to John , the owner. He called me back promptly, and I described the situation. When I told him that we had three bathrooms he responded that we should have had a larger tankless unit installed, and that because of the error, he would upgrade and install the unit at no charge. I was happy to hear this and had he made good on this promise, would have sent a very different letter to Angie's List, complimenting him on his integrity. However, I called him the next day and he informed me that he had "interviewed" the installer, Gil, and had determined that he had done nothing wrong, would charge me $350 for the upgrade and would install it at no charge. He said his offer was only good for three days! I was shocked, and then decided to contact Angie's List to see what my options were. I believe that Action Services acted in a very unprofessional and dishonest way, by not making it abundantly clear that the tankless water heater unit that was on sale was ONLY meant for a 1-2 bedroom/bathroom home even though they had several opportunities to do so. They never inquired about the number of bed/bath rooms of the house in which the tankless unit would be installed even though they had several opportunities to do so. At any time before the unit was installed, had they informed me of the discrepancy between the unit they planned to install and the number of bathrooms in our home, I would have had the necessary information to make a decision about whether to proceed or not with the transaction. John L. Santore acted in an unprofessional and unreliable manner when he first promised me a free upgrade/installation, and then reneged on this offer. In making this original offer, I believe John indirectly admitted that the (installation of the) smaller tankless unit was undersized for our home.

It went very well. Gil was meticulous, helpful & informative. Was on time & cleaned up approximately. They will call far return visit center proper post to service. Perfect is obtained.

They were excellent. I used one of the big deals with them. I will continue to use them. In particular, the person who was here was amazing. We have done about 3 or 4 big deals and they are the only ones who met expectations. They were fantastic. He wanted to keep doing more and more. He found ways to solve things. He was really great.

I called this place after being quoted a ridiculous amount by another plumber and they sent Jacob. He showed up ON TIME and looked really clean, spoke really well, and explained what was going on to me. He had my drains working in about an hour. If you're going to give this place a try I'd definitely ask for Jacob because I've had him come out a few more times and I'm never disappointed.
