+ -1 morePerfect. no problems. Will definately hire again. In fact that is why I am here. Will be calling them soon for remodeling work. This review is a little on the late side but after reading the other review of this company I had to come to there defense. Tankless water heaters are a joke unless all the factors are used. Not a lot of use in a short period of time. Can't keep up with the demands. Most older homes will need A LOT OF PLUMBING TO BRING THEM UP TO THE REQUIREMENTS NEEDED FOR A TANKLESS WATER HEATER TO BE USED. After much research I opt out of using one of these heaters. I would have had to run at least a 2" gas line to the heater, same for the water line. I would have to provide an electrical outdoor outlet for it. If any one has done any of this type work to your older home. You know how much this kind of work costs! The permits, the opening up of walls, floors, etc. Is it worth saving a few bucks a year? NO....... Unless you can slap this tankless heater right above your gas meter and run the pipe right off of it, and there is an electrical outlet already there too. I would NOT use a tankless water heater no matter what the salesmen says. Do not be afraid to use this company. It is not there fault the tankless heater did not perform like it should. They did there work. The manufacturer is at fault.

+ -1 moreOverall, some of the work was completed, however I was disappointed as the slow kitchen drain was not repaired within the two hour window
Description of Work: Took advantage of Angie's List "Big Deal" offering two hours of plumbing services for $99. Had three small jobs in mind for plumber when he came out-- 1. Replace the fill pump inside a toilet, 2. troubleshoot a sticky bathroom faucet valve (I knew that this couldn't be fixed within two hours as a special cartridge would need to be ordered), and 3. repair a "slow" kitchen drain. The repairman quickly fixed the toilet, and troubleshooted the bathroom faucet. We then went to the kitchen drain (we still had about an hour left on the two hours) and the "technician" claimed that it would be a major job to take apart the under sink plumbing to repair, and given a combination of PVC and medal pipes, could cause additional problems and leaks (which he would not be responsible should they happen and may require going over the 2 hours). Although I do not know if this was an accurate assessment, I accepted his recommendation to not repair the slow drain (I was concerned we'd be going over the two hours). We then walked around the house looking at other plumbing opportunities with the technician encouraging additional jobs. This included replacing all of the piping below my kitchen faucet, and installing a tankless water heating system. I actually felt like I was being hustled into doing additional work that wasn't necessary. As I released the plumber I was then asked, on the spot, to fill out an Angies Review form! I found this completely inappropriate This was awkward as he wanted it immediately returned (so I couldn't be honest)! He then left (we still had 20-25 minutes left of the two hours). I went upstairs to review the kitchen faucet plumbing that he had disconnected and reconnected, and it was now leaking! I ran outside and fortunately caught the technician before he drove away. He came back into the house and told me that he would fix the new leak, however, if he went over the 2 hours would be charging me at $125 hour! He also insinuated that the faucet had been leaking before he arrived (THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY FALSE)! I told him that I fully expected him to repair the faucet regardless of how long it would take, as this repair was not necessary prior to his troubleshooting work Upon me being firm, he agreed to repair the leaking faucet, which he proceeded to do, going over the two hours. In sum, I didn't feel comfortable with Action Services and my overall experience, and as such, cannot recommend them, nor would I call them again.

+ -1 moreThe whole process from calling Action Services to schedule the appointment to the actual service call was very smooth and efficient. Because of the coupon offering on Anglie's list, Action Services was being swamped with service calls so my appointment was set for a week later. The person at Action Service did ask me if this was an emergency, if so they see about trying to get someone out sooner. My situation with the toilet was not an emergency so waiting a week was fine. On the day of the service, a representative of Action Service called to let me know the tech was on his way and would be at my home within 30 minutes. When Gil arrived he was professional and courteous. He looked at the toilet and determined the problem and gave me several options. He could fix the issue or he could let me know how to fix it myself. The cost for him to fix it was $50. For a total of $79, which included the coupon for the estimate and the $50 for the actual repair having him do the repair was the best option for me. He replaced the value everything was completed in about 30 minutes. I told Gil that I was surprised that Action Service worked on the weekend, and Gil told me that the weekend appointments were something special for Angie List members. I would highly recommend Action Service for anyone needing their plumbing issues addressed.
Description of Work: My toilet was taking 20 minutes to fill. Action Services came and replaced the filler value. Toilet works perfectly now.

+ -1 moreThe plumber performed 3 repairs: 1) Bathroom sink - this has gotten clogged again 2 months later. This may not be the fault of the plumber, though. 2) Shower drain - this is working fine now. 3) Patio drain - this is working fine now. But what I'm really unhappy about was the fact that I chose this plumber based on a $35 Angies List coupon. This $35 doesn't appear to have been good for anything; the plumber never referenced it on the bill. He did tell me he normally would have charged $35 more on the Patio drain flush, but there is no way for me to know this. I can't prove anything but I suspect that I would have been charged the same amount with or without the coupon, which I resent. Later I called Action Services to ask what the $35 was for and was told that because I live in Los Angeles and they are located in Long Beach that I would have normally been charged over $100 just for a visit. But the plumber told me he was deducting $35 for work on my Patio drain; so am I getting a discount for the visit or for the work? Also, on my bill there is no mention of a $100+ charge just for the visit - or does the visit become free if work is done? And then when I called back to ask for a better explanation of what I was getting for the $35 nobody bothered calling me back. I don't know enough about plumbing to know if I got a discount or not for my $35 Angies List coupon but I know that other plumbers have advertised cleaning a shower drain for much less than what I was charged. They might not have done a good job, of course. But from now on I will ask any vendor to tell me exactly what an Angles List coupon buys; this time it doesn't appear to have gotten me anything. But I do admit that they did good work; my sink drain seems to have gotten clogged again, but as I said, I can't say that with any certainty that this was the plumber's fault. But I don't plan on calling Action Services again since they have already told me it would cost me $125 just to have them look at it again.

As is the norm, the deal did not include parts or other ?Special work.? I am very happy, even thrilled with the service I received from Action Services. I called for an appointment and because of the problem, they worked me in within eight hours. The appointment had a four-hour window as usual with service companies. From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The communication was superb. They called me 30 minutes before the beginning of the four-hour windows to tell me the service technician was finishing up his current job. They called again to let me know he had left and would be there in 15 minutes. Frank showed up exactly at 10:00 am. He was fully equipped with everything he needed and even had the extra part I need. Frank was nice, pleasant, and articulate. Frank went to the trouble to explain everything he was doing and why and yet was pleasant and did not talk ?down? to me. I had a plugged sewer line causing a backup in the drains which required running a cleanout snake through the sewer pipe. There was also had a very bad smell coming from under the house. It turned out the last plumber did not place a cover over a clean-out access pipe. Everything was fine until the sewer drain plugged up at about the sidewalk. The missing cover allowed raw sewage to exit the clean-out access port, and I had a lake about two inches deep of ?dirty water? under the house. Frank the plumber charged me an extra $100 to crawl under the house through the lake to put a cap he had in his truck on the clean-out pipe. I believe he gave me a real deal. The extra charge was worth every penny. I?m a senior citizen, and I am an engineer. In my day, I have done a lot of construction, electrical, and plumbing. I would have really hated to have crawled under the house with the water there. Before I had gone under the house to cap the clean-out pipe, I would have gone to a hotel for a day or two until the ground dried enough to allow me access. Then I would have poured bleach over the ground and then let that dry. Although my wife would have enjoyed a ?vacation? and not cooking, Frank plumber saved me a bundle of money. Would I use Action Services again? Absolutely YES.

+ 0 moreGil, the technician, arrived on time. He refurbished my water heater and showed me how to flush the unit. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. He then went over to my neighbor's house and looked at her water heater at no cost. Due to the age of her unit, he adviced her to buy a new one, rather than spend money on getting it refurbished and taking a chance that it might break down. The next day, I noticed that my water heater was leaking from one of the inlets. Gil came back to my home and tightened the inlet at no additional cost. He then left me an estimate for future repairs so I would know upfront, what it would cost me before I placed a call. I felt he was very honest and gave me a reasonable written estimate for future parts and labor. I will call upon him again if I should need new parts or have any problems in the future.
Description of Work: I had my water heater refurbished after purchasing the online coupon for this company.

It was really easy to make an appointment, we had our new garbage disposal in within a week of buying the deal. Also, as an added bonus, the nice man that installed the disposal helped my mom to drill through the wall and install a water line to her refrigerator. Great service!
