They had to order a switch for me, I paid $100.00 for labor (took less than 1 minute to install), tax and parts. I was to bring car back the next day to get window tinting added. I had to go back to the shop because the new switch wouldn't work (I had told the person ordering the part perviously what year my car was and what switch needed to be ordered). When I went back to ask for a refund for the switch, the manager said "what do you think I am trying to do - fraud you?" He told me to get in my car and get the $#@! out of there. I tried to calm him down and he looked at the switch and said he could fix it. After finding out he couldn't get it to work I said that the problem is that this is the wrong year switch. I told him that I told his employee what year to order but she would not order it. Meanwhile they put in the window tinting and I asked them to apply in a certain order. They applied this they way they wanted to apply. These windows were already tinted with a light tint. I asked them no matter what to do not remove any tinting on any of the windows until you can replace it at the same time. So they removed ALL window tinting and then started to tint my windows the only one they installed was the back window tint and then they told me that I would have to return to get the rest of the windows tinted. Wasting my time and money.

Response from PRO TINT
Member came in to our shop on January 11, 2013 and asked questions about removing and retinting his windows as well as changing out the switch on his driver’s side window due to all windows but the driver’s side would roll up and down with the master switch. The owner of the business went out to the vehicle and looked at exactly what was needed. Upon talking to the customer, Member explained he didn’t want to spend too much money on it so we offered to call on a re-manufactured part, which he said ok to. I called our vendor gave them the year of 2002 Volvo V70 received the price and reiterated it to Member, $60 for the part and it will be $35 in labor to pull the door panel and replace the switch, or you can install it yourself if you would like. Member agreed with our installing it. He also asked about removing and retinting his windows. I gave him a quote to do the back half, which is the two back doors and cargo area of his vehicle. We would strip the old tint for $50 because he was also doing the switch, and apply the full tint for $209 for our best quality film. Normally this would be $100 just to strip and $219 for the film. I also explained this would be an all-day process because the back glass has a defroster and we use a chemical to heat it up with the sun so the likely hood of the defroster having damage done is lessened. Again, Member agreed and set up an appointment on January 17, 2013 at 11am. On January 17, 11 o’clock came and Member did not show up. I give customers approximately 15 minutes leeway before calling. This time frame passed so I called him on the number he provided and left a message. My phone call wasn’t returned until approximately 1pm. At this time I informed him we could still do the switch and try to get as much of the tint job done as time permitted. Member asked if we could do it in stages as he could not be without his car for more than a couple hours. I said we could try to our best to do as much as possible done. When he arrived he explained he would like us to exchange the switch and start the back window. The installer started the back window removal process and exchanged the switches. After the switch was replace the driver’s side window would not move. The installer wasn’t sure why this was happening he looked up possible explanations on different forums and a common explanation was Volvos may have to be reprogrammed. When I explained this to Member, he became agitated saying the owner of the shop told me this will fix it, I don’t like to be taken advantage. I tried to calm him down and apology that he felt this way and explain again we have never run into this problem. He again made a comment about being taken advantage. At this point I asked him to please hold on I’ll grab the owner since he was the original person he spoke with. Upon examining the part closer the year of vehicle the part came from was a 2007. This does not surprise me as many vehicle years require the same part. We reordered a specific 2002 part which would take an additional few days to come in. On the 17th, in the conversation with the owner, the member requested additional windows to be striped and retinted, even after my conversation with him included with time permitting we will do as much as we can. The owner not realizing what our conversation has been asked the installer to strip the rest of the windows. The installer worked on the vehicle for an extra hour beyond his next appointment showing up. Member again made a comment about us not finishing the job like we said we would. I explained to him again we were trying to accommodate him, but do to the time constraint We will have to have you come back the next day. He requested first thing in the morning but we had three additional appointments and I asked if we could put him in at 1 pm and if there was a cancellation I would call and have him in earlier. The following day the member did not show up at 1pm again. I left another message for him at 1:30 asking if he was going come in and asked him to please call to let me know. We did not receive a call until 4:30, Member asked why I did not call and I explained again that we had an appointment set for 1pm and I did leave a message for him at 1:30pm. He was under the impression I was going to call to tell him if we would be able to tint his vehicle at 1. I again explained that we set up an appointment at 1pm and I was going to call if we had a cancellation to get him in sooner. We agreed on an appointment at 10:30 the following day, Saturday the 19th. We do not feel he should be owed any additional monies back to him sue to the fact he still has the switch we ordered for him and we have explained all possible options for him. We feel we have tried to correct the problem for him based on the knowledge of our owner and installer from experience and training. Based on Member’s request for removal of the bubbles in the tint, we have explained the process to the customer of the material needing to dry.
