About us
elg design has been an Angie's List Super Service Award recipient and on Angie's List Honir Roll for several years until relocating to La Quinta where Angie's List is not well known for searching for interior decorators-designers. A native of L.A. suburbia, Ev brings her SoCal sensibilities and creative professionalism as a former entertainment attorney to the design profession, applying her considerable insights, listening skills and understanding of her clients’ lifestyle, priorities and budgetary considerations to create a living environment that reflects her clients’ uniqueness. elg design measures its success in part by your happiness with the results. Ev derives special pleasure from discovering ‘finds’ and offers a fee structure that enables a broader client base accessibility to interior design services. She is known for thinking outside the box, working in close communication with her clients, and welcomes projects of all sizes, from multi-room makeovers to small assignments such as a single consultation or re-working a space using existing furnishings. As a Certified Green AP designer, Ev is an advocate of ‘doing well by doing good’. In presenting decorating options to her clients she also introduces ‘eco-friendly’ choices that provide her clients the opportunity to make a positive difference in their personal living surroundings, address environmental health considerations, and contribute to our planet’s well-being. Ev takes her work very seriously. She spent hours selecting colors for our office (we asked her to create something vibrant) and it looks great.
She was great working with us around the buildings schedule, which seemed to change on a daily basis. I highly recommend her.

"I am pleased to see that this client would hire me again but a bit mystified by the B rating as he provided no explanation or detailed rating. Inasmuch as I performed this consultation in 2012 & just now received a review, my guess is that Angie's List contacted the client requesting a review & these often do not include any detail. I pulled the client file & see that it was a comprehensive consultation, & at no additional charge I spent several hours doing preliminary research & preparing an Estimate of Costs for the many elements that this client wanted addressed (flooring, paint, window treatments, furniture, wall decor, accessories. It appears that I sent the Estimate twice. After not hearing back for a period of time, I followed up & was informed that the project was on hold due to medical issues.I left it that he would contact me whenever he was feeling better & ready to proceed."

The main thing Ev provided was hard to calculate in dollar terms but invaluable to me ? she got me started. I was feeling pretty stuck and overwhelmed in the midst of the move itself and particularly because of some construction still going on in the house remodel. Everything was still covered with protective sheets and things were pretty chaotic, so Ev got me going! She validated the ideas I'd already considered, kept reminding me how this house is different from our previous condo, and added some fresh ideas of her own that I wouldn't have otherwise considered.
All of that said, my sense of Ev is that someone not as versed in design would also experience her as collegial and a collaborative partner. That's just who she is!
At the end of our two-hour consultation (and it really does take two hours to accomplish this), things were starting to come together and the house was beginning to emerge as our new home.

"Thank you for your review. I looked over the invoice for services rendered & see that the initial consultation actually ran close to 3 hours, there was a charge for 1-way travel (out of area). Additionally,following the consultation, time was spent on pricing and ordering samples at your request in anticipation of a follow-up meeting, as well as preparing & submitting a summary. My records also show that some of the time expended was not charged. I am always open to discussing any concerns about my fees & had understood that the project was on hold due to personal, not financial, considerations, so this is a bit surprising to first learn of it in the Angie's report."

an eye toward eventually selling it. We turned to for her ideas on
making our home more appealing without spending too much money--and
doing so in an eco-friendly, less toxic way. She has saved me so much
time and energy, tracking down low/no VOC products and tradesman who are
familiar with these materials and our indoor air pollution concerns.
She has really gone the extra mile in attending to our particular needs
while keeping the project (i.e., us) moving forward. She deftly works
with my husband and myself to clarify our individual ideas into a shared
vision for our home. I tried a few designers before Ev who proved to
be either ignorant of chemical sensitivity issues or unwilling to take
on this relatively small project. We are still working with
Ev, and I cannot say enough good things about her nor recommend her more
highly.
