THE PET HOSPITAL OF LA MESA

They determined that my dog had swallowed something and it was still in her stomach and a procedure was needed to remove it. It was very convenient to be able to go there at night, and reassuring to know what was wrong and that she would be ok overnight. I had to bring her back in the morning for the ultrasound because they didn't have those staff there at night.  They proposed a procedure to use a thin pincher tool to go in and try to remove the swallowed item and then if that didn't work do surgery.  If she needed both procedures it would have been $5000.  It was a tough decision but I decided to go to my regular vet who just did the surgery for $2000. She is fine now, but it was a longer recovery.  She is an old dog so it was a risk.  Probably the pincher procedure would have worked but I couldn't know that at the time.  They were very professional and caring.  Subsequently my stepdaughter's dog passed away on Xmas day and we took her dog to this vendor's Chula Vista Hospital to be cremated.  Again, I was really glad they were there and they handled it very well with my stepdaughter.  Bottom line: This vendor is for emergencies when your regular vet isn't available and for folks who want medical care for their pets that is equivalent to what human hospitals provide.  It is an important niche and it is good to have them in San Diego.

So in the end I made the best choice for me my kid, we looked into a better Vet., one that followed the standard Vet booster sched.

I have used the services of them many times. They understand that your pet is a family member. When I lost one to a bee sting they were so very good and really helped us get threw it. I have had to go there in the middle of the night and no matter how busy they are they are always on top of the situations. In the last six months they have taken my dogs in on emergency care and given them excellent care and followup. They will answer all your questions and some more. In an emergency I would not take any of my animals to any place else.

On this visit, I brought in a homeless "neighborhood" cat to have neutered/shots/tests, with the intention of returning him to the "neighborhood". After getting news that he tested positive for FIV, I now have a new addition to my household (I have two dogs and one other cat). Dr. Espinoza was very patient and kind and explained all the potential problems with FIV, what to look out for, what his life expectancy was, etc. My other pets have only been to Pet Hospital of La Mesa and seen by the other vets (all excellent). The office staff and technicians are all very good, and have a genuine love for the animals.

I really like them. They are hard working and very caring towards the animals. They have a wonderful service and I would recommend them to other people any time. They are caring and their prices are reasonable as well.

Dr. Rodriguez studied in Davis and is very knowledgeable. I have been going here for about 10 years and I have always been satisfied with their quality care. I would highly recommend them to everybody in the area.

THE SERVICES WERE VERY GOOD. THEY WORKED WELL WITH OUR PET. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH COMPARED TO OTHERS. HELPED WITH GETTING OUR DOG ONTO THE CAR AFTER SURGERY.

THEY WERE FAST TO REACT WITH TESTS AND EXAM. THEIR CARE AND PROFESSIONALISM WAS VERY COMFORTING TO OUR FAMILY. THEY ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE WHEN WE NEED THEM, AND VERY FRIENDLY. THE BEST VET'S OFFICE I'VE EVER BEEN IN.
