Cañada Tree Care

This is the second time I have Mike's team do the hillside brush clearance and tree pruning. The last time was 4 years. I am very happy with Mike's professionalism: I remember distinctly that both times, he recommended to prune the pines in cooler months. Four years ago, I asked him for a quote in July, and he simply won't do the job until October for fear of killing the pines. This years, he came in September on a 90 degrees day and recommended to do the work as late as possible again. The team arrived on time, efficiently completed the job and cleaned the areas. I had some dried bamboos which I want to remove but did not include in the estimate. Mike threw in that task for free on the day.

Shortly after moving into our home last year, we hired Mike Barker of Canada Tree Care. We have many trees in the front and back yard, some quite large. All were overgrown and in need of care. Mike was efficient at giving us a bid. The crew was prompt, courteous, and professional. Several were up in the trees trimming, while others kept up with clean up. The clean up was spotless. The trees were nicely shaped and not overdone like we have witnessed. Mike followed up to make sure we were satisfied with the work. On 10/28/2016, I asked Mike to come by to look at a tree that I thought was dying and might need removal. Again he was responsive, and gave me some suggestions of ways to save the tree before removal. He is very knowledgeable. I really appreciated this advice rather than leaping to removal.

They arrived on time with a full crew, did everything we had discussed that needed to be done, did a few extra things they saw that needed to be done as well as a few things we asked to be done, did a super job on the trees, hauled everything away, and cleaned everywhere after they were through.

I hire Mike and his crew every 18 months or so to trim and shape up the trees in my yard. His prices are reasonable, his crew is just terrific and I wouldn't consider hiring anyone else. They are fast, skilled and very considerate of my property. The place is always neater than when they found it.

It went very well. They were prompt and they were quick and they did a perfect job. Everyone is very well maintained and polite. Very hard workers and very concerned that they do a good job. Which they did.

Mike came out for the estimate and I appreciated how he made me feel at ease about the complexity of the work that needed to be done. He seemed knowledgable and competent. We took quotes from three different vendors and we opted to go with Mike on both value but also "gut" - I felt like he and his team would do a competent job. The actual day of the job was today and Mike and his team were very efficient in getting the necessary work done (which included 3-4 different tasks simultaneously). Mike provided direction for his team in first hour before moving onto another job nearby. This didn't concern me as his team seemed quite competent and when I had a question for him, I was able to text Mike and he came back to the site to talk. The work was done in roughly 4 hours which was his original estimate and I was very pleased with the quality of it. As a bonus, he added mulch to an area he cleared around one of our trees, which he wasn't obligated to do and his crew made sure to clean up any branches or leaves that fell into my neighbor's driveway and on our lawn. Hopefully, we won't need extensive tree work again for a while but if we did, I wouldn't hesitate to use Mike again.

Great. Not only did the work get done fast, Mike found an empty bird's nest and delicately got it down for my boys to inspect. Friendly fast service indeed. We will definitely call for future business.

All these trees were planted 56 years ago. They have grown to over 60' high. Due to the California drought the redwoods are in desperate trouble. Two were completely dead and had to be removed for safety sake. The next day I noticed that 1 of my sprinkler heads had been broken.I called Mike and the next morning at 7:30 AM two workers came. Working perfectly. How's that for quick service! Mike Baker and crew did a wonderful job with the trees. We are hopeful that the rest can be saved. I highly recommend Mike Baker of Canada Tree Care

Met with Mike a few months prior to the tree trimming, to review what needed to be done and evaluate the health of the tree. He called a few days prior to the original scheduled date and informed me he could come a day earlier, which was great. He arrived with four workers, on time, and reviewed what we had discussed then relayed it to his workers before leaving. His workers protected my plants before starting. They worked straight through until the job was done, taking only a short break. I can't say enough about how pleased I was by their quality of work, and how quickly the job was done. Each man had a specific job to do, which made the process go smoothly. The clean-up was amazing; they were fast and extremely tidy, making sure every last leaf was off the lawn. Also they do not use spike's while climbing the tree; they use ladder's & ropes.

Excellent. I truly appreciate Mike and his team. I've used them three times now over the last few years and waited till three times to review, for consistency. Mike comes out to review the property and look at the work that needs to be done before scheduling his team. They show up on time, it's a team I'm familiar with, and have seen repeatedly over the years. Very respectful and clearly focused on getting the work done properly within a reasonable timeframe. They consulted with me as the job progressed, worked together as a team, and cleaned up afterwards as if they'd never been there in the first place. Will I use them again. Absolutely! They get the work done where other contractors I've used for other purposes have failed. They're on my go-to list.

I think I found them on Angie’s List. They were fine and did a good job. They cleaned up and everything was fine. They cut down and kept me appraised and they cleaned up. The price was good.

The foreman, Geronimo, is an artist. The silver maples looked beautiful when he finished, plus he is very responsive to a homeowner's impressions. The tree service owner, Mike, kindly added light pruning of a row of oleanders, but the crew ran out of time that day. When another tree pruner, not Geronimo, showed me that he had completed pruning the row of eugenias, it looked as though they had not been side-trimmed. The trimming was done just to above head height, but the trees were taller than the power poles and I asked the man to complete the pruning all the way up, which he did. Mike agreed to return to top the eugenias and the oleanders for an additonal $250 over the original $1,300. A month later the smaller job had still not been scheduled, so I texted Mike on September 15, 18, 20, and 24, but got no reply except when I asked him if he had gotten my texts and he answered, "Yes." In my final request I said that I guessed he wasn't interested in completing the job. He called me back immediately and said he had confused me with someone else. He set up an appointment for the next week.Their work on the eugenias was excellent, but on the oleanders not fully satisfactory. There was no more room on the truck for the limbs from the oleanders, so that was reason enough to stop; the truck was half full when they arrived and this being a small job, they didn't bring the wood chopper. I will definitely hire Canada Tree Care again. The work is carefully and aesthetically done, especially when Geronimo is your foreman.

Mike and his crew are just great. I use them each year for routine trimming and every other year for my large pecan tree. They are knowledgable, careful, very accommodating and fast. The prices are reasonable and everyone is right on top of the job. They always leave my house cleaner than it was when they showed up. I have recommended Mike many times and everyone has been pleased. Hire them!

We previously used Canada Tree Care to trim our very large avocado (30ft) and orange tree in 2010. Once again, the owner, Mike, was very responsive and came right out on the same day to give us a new quote. He made some good recommendations on how to prune the trees, and he was able to schedule the work within the week. The crew was clean and thorough, and our trees look great. They did a great job of protecting some new plantings under the avocado tree. It was like they hadn't even been there!

The crew arrived at exactly the time that they promised. They asked the right questionsk and were polite. They were organized, well prepared, and had the right equipment to do the job. The crew did a clean, smooth, and excellent job. When the tree removal was complete, they tidied up after themselves. I would definitely recommend them.

Perfect service. Called them for estimate, came out to property, Called me while they were on site, we discussed the scope of the job and agreed on terms. Their crew performed the work several days later at the tenants convenience. This was the third time they have performed work for me. Totally satisfied with the service.

I left a message with these guys and then didn't hear back for 3 1/2 weeks. I was pretty shocked when I got a call back, honestly. That's a long time to wait for a call back. Needless to say I did not choose them, but they did a drive-by and gave a verbal estimate of $250 for trimming the two trees (which is pretty reasonable). I just had my gardener hack the branches that were going astray, nothing fancy. Maybe when I need some more work done I'll try them again.

Clean up was included, this was a job could never do on my own. I'm grateful that there are companies like this who will do it for you at a decent price. I just made sure that anything that could get in the guys way during the trimming was removed from the yard. Very reliable, I will use them again.

The workers were great.

The crew did a great job. The large tree looks very neat, but not sparse. The hedges look great and I am thrilled to be rid of my overgrown landscaping. This job was a lot of work and the crew did it quickly and for a very reasonable price. Much of the work affected my neighbor's yard and the guys were very considerate of their property. I would hire them again in a second.

Trimmed a large Jacaranda tree and a very very large camphor tree, cleaned up all branches and leaves (there was a LOT because the trees hadn't been trimmed or pruned in years) and disposed of all branches, etc. I had received estimates from 4 companies. They all wanted to drastically cut these trees back, and the estimates were all around $1800.00. I made it clear that I didn't want the pruning to be that drastic, and Mike, from Canada Tree Care, really listened to what I wanted and gave me an excellent price. They cut off huge overgrown branches that extended over my neighbors fence by at least 10 feet, and over my roof and driveway. Plus there were many broken or partially detached branches way up throughout all areas of the tree that would have come down in the next storm. They also clean all of my rain gutters, which I didn't expect (saved me paying someone to do it). It is obvious looking at my trees that they have been trimmed, but it was done so well that they look healthy and pretty. The canopies are very nicely rounded; they look better than they have in many years. Clean up was perfect! Very professional. I would definitely recommend this company!

They did a very good job. They did a neat, efficient job, they cleaned up after themselves, and the price was very fair.

Mike and his team are great. We had a 80 foot pine fall on Saturday. It landed on another tree about 1 foot away from my son's room. It was propped up htere, but needed to come down. Canada Tree Care came in with the best estimate and could get the work done the next day, on a Sun. Mike said a crew of 5 would be there at 8am and a crew of 5 were there at 8am. Skillfully, his team took down the tree and also trimmed 5 other trees as part of the work. Mike called later in the day just to make sure all went off as planned. Mike and Emilio know what they are doing.

Happy ending! When the owner, Mike Barker, saw my previous report and that I had been unhappy with some elements of the work his crew had done for me in June when his foreman Emilio wouldn't finish the job to my satisfaction, Mike called and apologized to me and said he wanted me to be satisfied and would do whatever it took to make me happy. He also apologized for not calling me after that job because he had been ill at that time. He scheduled a return date and at no further cost to me completed the pruning of the silver maples. He sent a different foreman this time, a very polite and cheerful man. I will defintiely use Canada Tree Service again for tree pruning. I have already hired them to prune 2 very tall palms.

The job went twice as fast as normal because the 2nd crew that was assigned for another house, couldn't get to it because of filming and they came to my house instead. The crew worked quickly and efficiently. I was a little surprised by how much they cut away, but a month later, a huge windstorm hit and I was glad they cut away as much as they did.
