Safe Way Moving & Storage

Scheduling was very easy and we were charged exactly as quoted. It was nice to also receive an e-mail reminder the day before the move.
Matt and Gary showed up right on time with plenty of wardrobe boxes for us to use. These guys were awesome! They quickly and tirelessly moved everything down 3 flights of stairs to the truck without ever taking a break. They definitely were not wasting any time to pad the bill. Everything was moved into the house and nothing was damaged. Overall it was a great job done by two work horses.

The actual moving by the crews was very well done. The crew that moved the furniture back in after the floors had be re-finished were very professional and went out of their way to ensure that they didn't leave any marks.
My only criticism of the firm was that the way they market their storage services is inaccurate (to be charitable). There were two issues that came up:
1.    The website says that they have a special offer of one month free storage. There are no qualifications to that anywhere on the coupon on the front page of the website. When I called them up, however, I was told that the one month free storage only applies to the "fourth month of storage".
2. The storage charges run for a calendar month and not for a 30 or 31 day period. I was only notified of this when I received an invoice in the mail informing me that my first "month's" storage was about to expire and that I was going to incur another $180 cost. Thankfully I was able to arrange for the return delivery on the last day of the month to avoid the additional charge.
All in all, they were very good on the actual moving, but the two less than transparent incremental costs relating to the storage left me with a somewhat bad taste in my mouth.

This company is amazingly responsive, professional, and affordable.  One of the senior managers, Roy, at Safe-Way came out for an onsite estimate. (maybe he heard the panic and frustration in my voice since I was only a week away from my move date) Only 3 out of 12 movers I called would come out and Safe-Way was by far the most professional and affordable.  They were 1/2 the price of one of the big names and twice as helpful.  By mover's standards my "job" was small and local, so many of the companies I called didn't want to be bothered.
Apparently, the moving industry is rather unscrupulous with many scams and games.  Roy from Safe-way actually explained  how I could protect myself from scams.  He also showed me how to save time and money preparing for the move day. They fit me into their schedule at short notice and arrived on time.  One of the guys also helped my father disassemble some heavy wooden shelves in the garage which was great.  The team worked amazingly fast, and that is ultimately what keeps the price down.  They were careful moving things down a narrow stucco staircase and nothing was scratched or damaged in the move. 
When we got to the storage unit they packed everything tightly like a puzzle, and there was actually some room left over in the front of the storage unit.  I had  been concerned that it would not fit everything.  When they finished the move and I saw my bill, I was pleased to see that it was $100 less than the original quote.
Since my move, I have recommended Safe-Way to friends, and all their feedback has been positive. Moving is stressful, and unpredictable but these guys are efficient and flexible with whatever comes up. 

When I called to get an estimate over the phone I explained that we had "x" number of boxes, but still had lots to pack so I couldn't give a final number.  I was told that was okay.  Turned out we had  a lot more boxes than the guys anticipated and we nearly didn't make it all in one load, but thankfully by filling up our cars we did, but it was so close. The guys really did a great job -- they really know what they're doing and were friendly & professional.  We did find a few items, wine glasses, a china platter and vase that were broken while unpacking boxes, but I guess that's to be expected.
A couple of suggestions: Watch to make sure the time they actually arrive is what they use when to charge you when they're done and don't be afraid to call them on it if they get it wrong; and second, tip the guys when they're done.  (I have no idea how much that should be)  I didn't tip them and one guy instantly got a bad attitude upon leaving after having been so friendly all day.  It took me a couple days to figure out why.  Lesson learned.

I have moved numerous times and this was by far the easiest and most stress free.  It was also the ONLY time the mover actually took LESS time than estimated!  That saved be $500 off of their quote!  The guys were clean and courteous.  I've already recommended them to my parents who are moving next month.  Nothing was damaged, broken, or scratched.  They were very helpful in putting everything in the correct place.  I know I sound so effusive, but it really was a great experience.

They were really quick and did a good job. They just moved it and got done what they're supposed to do.

Roy was going to make an appointment to see our home and what would be involved for the move however we had another contact who was highly recommended by our realtor.  We went with them but would not hesitate to use Safe Way in the future.  We are moving from a very large home to a large home and we have many breakables.  We trusted Safe Way to handle our move well.

It went very well, they did everything absolutely perfectly and I would recommend them. Their pricing was straight forward, the movers were easy to work with and easy to talk with. They safe guarded all with my belongings. Generally I would be a little apprehensive about moving and about the pricing and things such as from the pickup to the delivery, but they were just good people.

The mover guys themselves were lovely. Polite and got to work and did the job well. The company itself during phone conversations were a bit curt, dismissive and definitely unresponsive. I had a difficult time getting an estimated time of arrival etc. I tipped the movers, if I could I would have hired them directly and skipped the people in the office completely.

Overall, the move went well.  They told me about all of the costs up front and were right on time to pick up.  Movers were careful with everything but some pieces of furniture were banged up.

Hard working guys, got everything done.

These guys are SUPER-HEROES!!! I can't believe how much stuff they moved, including our baby grand piano. They showed up on time with two trucks, and worked all day without stopping. Their upbeat attitude made a stressful day actually fun for me. And the price was competitive. I highly recommend them for any type of move.

Safe Way was great from start to finish. Worth every penny and then some! Easy call for an estimate/reservation.  On moving day, Scott and Eric were incredibly friendly and efficient, and nearly super-human with some of the stuff they had to move for us. So thankful to have found Safe Way on Angie's list. We have already recommended them to two other friends looking to move soon. Great job all around!

I would give them an A plus.

They did a very good job.  I do not think it is possible to do a better job and the price was very resonable.  Lots of furniture to move and they never stopped working and were very careful

It has been several weeks since we moved from California to Arizona, but as we were so pleased with the service provided by Safe Way Moving & Storage (Lake Forest & Foothill Ranch) and have just been notified that our review was incomplete, we felt it only fair that we resubmit.  Safe Way Moving was awesome!  We received several estimates and Safe Way was not the cheapest, but we are so glad we chose them.  Several companies were not willing to work with our time frame and tried passing us off to sub-contractors with 2-14 day delivery window.  Safe Way came through in more ways than one!
We needed the contents (furniture & boxes) of our 3-bed single family home moving from California to Arizona.  We arranged for Roy to come to our home and provide us with an estimate, and after we accepted it he contacted us twice before the scheduled moving date to confirm date, time, etc.  The moving day arrived and two guys showed up (it was so long ago, but I believe their names were Scott & Eric), slightly earlier than scheduled, but we were completely OK with this as we were ready to go.  You couldn't meet two nicer guys.  They worked professionally and efficiently non-stop until the truck was loaded.  They were almost finished when our son arrived to pick up our large side-by-side refrigerator, washer & dryer which we had given him.  We were very impressed and very grateful to Scott because he took the time to provide our son with his expert advice and assistance in moving them.
Scott & Eric completed loading and we all left to drive to Arizona.  The next morning, we received a call to confirm they were on their way and sure enough 30-40 minutes later they arrived to deliver our stuff!  Again, they were a pleasure to work with, working efficiently and diligently until their truck had been emptied. 
We had provided and packed our own boxes (almost 100 in total) and as it was necessary for us to leave immediately to return to California, we did not have a chance to unpack anything until we returned to Arizona a few weeks later.  We have moved twice internationally in the past and both times resulted in several losses and damages, so we were very impressed and happy to find no damages to furniture and the contents of every box intact.  This was more than enough proof to us that Scott & Eric provided 'kid glove' services!  We would definitely use Safe Way Moving & Storage again and again, and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

Really well - the guys were pleasant and professional. They didnt take a break for a second and were always positive. They were also careful with my things - would highly recommend them.

We are a little late with our review as our move from Orange County, California to Maricopa County, Arizona took place at the end of August,but we wanted to share our moving experience.

We scheduled an appointment with Roy to provide us with a quote. He showed up promptly and was so friendly, professional and positive.  He left our home around 06:00 PM and an hour or so later called us with a quote and provided us with confirmatory email.  We had experienced problems finding a moving company willing to move what was considered a 'small' move (contents to fill a 26ft truck) to Arizona from California, and more importantly work with our time frame but Roy did not seem fazed at all!  He not only worked with us on the pick up date, he promised delivery in Arizona the next day!

On the day of the move, Scott & Eric arrived ten minutes early and raring to go!  They proved to be the nicest, hardworking guys we've ever had pleasure to work with.   They worked efficiently even though it was one of the hottest days of the year and our home had no air conditioning!  It was very obvious that they knew exactly what they were doing and handled our move with care and nothing was too much trouble.  They soon made short work of moving almost 100 boxes (which we had packed ourselves) and 3-4 rooms of furniture, including a bear of a king size bed, that needed to be dismantled - which has always been a problem.

After they had finished they set off for Arizona, with us following them.  The next morning shortly before the allotted time, we received a call to say that they were on their way to deliver our stuff and they showed up exactly on time.  Again, they quickly set to, working non-stop and efficiently, even though they had to contend with not only triple digits and Arizona sun, but reconstructing our problematic king-size bed!!

In a nutshell, Scott & Eric were just awesome!!  Moving is a nightmare at the best of times, but this time we were so impressed at how everything seemed to flow so smoothly.  We have absolutely no problem at all with recommending Safe-Way Moving for your next move!!   THANK YOU AGAIN SAFE-WAY!!!

The move went very well. We will be using them again in five weeks to move our belongings to the new house we are buying.

The job went great and nothing was broken! The price was very fair and the guys were professional and worked hard the entire time. I would use them again and you should check this company out!

I called about 10 days before we were ready to move and called them to schedule the movers.  They recommended a full day move based on the amount of stuff I had and they were going to send 3 guys over to help move.  They called the friday before the scheduled move to confirm the appointment.  

Moving day came and the movers were promptly at my door by the time we scheduled (8:30) and were met with three enthusiastic guys who ready to rock.  I showed them what needed to be moved and they immediate started taking out extra wardrobe boxes for us to put any last minute items into.  They started moving everything and anything, taking care to secure and wrap anything that may need additional protection.  To my surprise these guys work FAST and work non-stop until lunch time.

My garage was filled with woodworking equipment and they were willing and able to help me move them around into my own rented truck with a liftgate. After everything was packed around 1:30pm we headed over to my new place and started unloading.

I was worried time would run out but unloading was way quicker, since they didn't need to tetris boxes into the truck.  They happily moved everything where they needed to go and were always upbeat and hardly took a break during the whole day!

Their attitude and professionalism was outstanding.  I'd use them again, but I hate moving so I hope I don't have to in the near future.
