Description of Work: Camera repair? All is well again! Glad to have a place now that Cals s out of business.

Description of Work: The store was well stocked and clean and the clerks were courteous on my first visit to the store to get my Canon digital camera repaired. First warning sign that things would not go well was the fact that they asked for the payment of $200 up front to get the camera repaired. This was highly irregular to me to pay in advance for services not even rendered yet. The problems with my experience were basically two fold: 1. most importantly was an almost total lack of communication on the part of the store. 2. The extreme amount of time it took for the repairs to be completed. After two or three weeks of waiting for a response from the store on the status of the camera repair, I called the store numerous times for a status update and the clerks answering the phone obviously had no clue whatsoever as to what was going on, they would only take a message and assure me that someone would call me back. The return calls were not forthcoming. After numerous calls, I finally did hear back from someone who told me that the repair facility was looking for a compatible replacement part for the camera. Again, a long time went by with no updates from the store and numerous calls were made to clueless clerks who only served to take messages that were never returned. Again only after many calls were made was I able to speak with someone who was extremely professional and courteous and they even offered to give me a refund of the repair fee when I picked up the camera due to the lengthy delay. But I was never given any further details about what was wrong with the camera or how the repairs were progressing and was only called again once the repairs were completed and informed that I could pick up the camera. Once I went to pick up the camera, the clerks in the store could not tell me exactly what was wrong with the camera or what part was replaced and no effort was made to provide the refund offered over the phone. In hindsight it appeared as if no one had a clue as to what was going on except the owner of the store, who was almost never in the store. I expected a small camera store to be staffed with knowledgeable professionals who would provide a higher level of service than what one would expect from a clerk in a generic big box electronics store. Out of two months and many calls made, only one phone call, one time, from one person lived up to that level. The camera still has issues and doe not perform as well as it did before it broke down.

Description of Work: Bill's Camera reproduced pictures for me. They also were able to recover pictures from my erased memory cards. They also we had vintage pictures and they scanned those pictures for us and put them on a DVD or CD for us.
