I found MB Marble Resurfacing through Angies List.  I reached out to Mario (the owner) and scheduled him to visit our home and provide an estimate for polishing and sealing of all the granite surfaces in our kitchen (counter tops, backsplashes and island) and to fill numerous holes in our downstairs travertine tile floor (we have travertine tile in the kitchen and nook, plus in the main entrance hallway).

We bought the house brand new back in 2000.  The kitchen and tile have seen a reasonable amount of traffic over that time.  We have never had the granite professionally cleaned before (we tend to keep it clean by wiping down with soapy water).  Most of the granite is in great condition, but the areas behind the kitchen sink and the stovetop were worse for wear, and the area behind the stovetop was greasy.

We have attempted to fill some small holes in the travertine floor ourselves over time, but more holes had appeared and it was time to get professional help.

Tomas arrived just before 8:00am on 11/7/2014 to work on the job.  Tomas was very clear on what he was going to do in terms of refinishing the granite and the travertine.  We toured the areas to be worked on and I pointed out the areas of concern for me (backsplash behind stove, holes and cracks in floor).

Tomas got started on the job and about 90 minutes later let me know the treatment on the granite was complete.  He did a wonderful job!  All the granite looks brand new.  He then got to work on the travertine tiles which took about 2 hours.  Tomas recommended the tile surface be left to dry for about 5 hours, which we did.

One day later we noticed a couple of minor issues with the travertine fixes.  Tomas missed one small area where there were 2 holes.  And one of the holes he had filled (just about the biggest hole), the level of the filling had dropped so it was not level with the tile surface.

I reached out to Mario and asked if we could have someone stop by to address the minor issues.  Mario was happy to assist.  He scheduled Tomas to come out again a couple of days later.  Tomas arrived as scheduled and the job was completed.

I am very impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of Mario and Tomas.  They did an outstanding job.  I have no hesitation in recommending them, and I will be using their services again in the future.

We were in a rush to get our property on the market.  I thought I would have more work (such as sealing the granite countertops) but didn't so it ended up being a small job with only the entryway floor.  But he didn't complain, scheduled me right away, showed up on time and did a fabulous job.

It worked okay. They met my expectations. It was resurfaced to a degree that was acceptable. In fact after the first attempt I think either the sealant did not take so I called them and they came and did the resurfacing all over again. They really tried to get the customer satisfaction where it should be. It was good. The price was average. I was happy with the result. I would go with whoever will provide the cheapest service.

After making an initial call to Mario, he came by within just a day or two to take a look at the project and provided an estimate.  He worked with me on the estimate and scope of work to bring it into the range of my budget and then scheduled things in a way that would allow me to always have a working bathroom at all times.
Mario scheduled Tomas to came out to do the work and everything was fantastic - we are thrilled with how wonderful the stone looks now.  It's like we have brand new bathrooms!
Tomas was punctual, very polite and clean while working (he removed his shoes to walk on any carpets without me even asking!), and excellent at stone restoration.  He explained everything he was doing and checked in at each stage of work to make sure I was happy with the results.
We've had other contractors try to do similar stone cleaning and restoration in the past, but the work was nowhere near the
quality of this work.  I highly recommend MB Marble and would definitely hire them again.

There was a crack in the granite that I realized was growing and I needed it to be patched ASAP since it was on the edge of the kitchen sink and water was seeping into the crevice.
Mario (owner of MB Marble)  arrived at my house on the day and time that we agreed upon which was very important to me. I'm super busy.
Mario was very thorough, well-organized, and clean. He covered the floor with a mat and had all of his equipment handy. I had already cleared off the granite counters so that he could do his job. He turned on the vent and opened sliding glass door to cut down on the odor and I appreciated that since I have a good sense of smell and have allergies. After a few hours, he was finished and the patch work looked great. He explained how it probably happened-- expansion of the metal that was used to install granite. Metal not expanding like fiberglass. He scraped off the hard water buildup by the faucet and resealed the granite counters and island. It all looks fantastic. Mario also shared with me tips on how to treat the granite and made recommendations on cleaners that he uses. Most people wouldn't do that, I think.
Since I was impressed by the work, I have now scheduled Mario to clean and resurface our Travertine kitchen floor and trust that he'll do a super job. I can't wait to see the results. Thanks Mario!

They did a great job. Punctual, with excellent communication; came in, took a quick look around, set up and began to work swiftly and efficiently. Meticulous cleanliness, with drop cloths on the wooden floors, which I really appreciated. I did follow my end of the instructions which meant having everything off of the marble surfaces to be cleaned, and being able to keep them free and clear for the rest of the day (ideal 24h). He was done in less than 2 hours, and all work was done by hand. Great job. The only thing I'd comment on is that I didn't notice much of a difference between before the cleaning and after...but again, it was not a restoration. Also, this may well be because we have honed white italian marble (Calacatta d'Oro) - not polished or shiny, so it may just not show as much after a cleaning/polish. Most important is the fact that the marble countertops were sealed, which ideally should be done annually and this was my first time since installation (two years). He did tell me how easy it would be to restore the marks and blemishes that have resulted from normal kitchen use over the last couple of years, which was super reassuring to hear in case I'm ever feeling like I need it to look like new again (but I LOVE the marble and love the patina). I'd definitely hire them again next year for the same service, and would call them when I'm ready to fix any flaws or have an unexpected bad spill, etc. Super professional -- they met and exceeded my every expectation of a terrific service provider!

They ended up doing a good job and arrived on time. They also cleaned up afterward.
Response from MB Marble Resurfacing LLC

"(removed member name), I can understand your disappointment. Some things you can not control. The person scheduled to do your work called in sick the night before and still has not returned to work. I had left you a message of confirmation the same night, a few hours before he called. Then called you in the morning trying to reschedule. You emailed me pictures of the areas on the evening of the 21st and gave you price based on that. We may have scheduled it the next day, the 22nd. That is 2 weeks. But I still wanted to apologize to you for the last minute change. Again, some things you can not control. I just wish you give us the opportunity to work with you in the future. Kindly,"

These things never go as planned, but Mario's guy did a great job and we were happy w/ the end result.  I would definitely use these guys again.

Please know, that any "deal" that you buy from Angie's List is only a teaser...your bill will be way more than the "deal" and I want to stress, that comment is  not a reflection on Mario, but a reflection on Angie's list.

It turned out very well. The guy was excellent and he was really good about everything. We got a break from the price from Angie's List, it was very reasonable. He kept us informed on when he was coming and how he is coming and all that stuff. We were very pleased with this company. We plan to have them back.

The contractor did a great job. We ended up having him sand down our soapstone countertops and we now wax instead of oiling them. They look much better and it was kind of them to honor our coupon for resealing to use toward the sanding service.
