Was very nice, and friendly. Showed up when he said he would. Gave me a deal when I had a coupon for some one else.

Igor came out promptly, saw what the problem was and said it would take a few days to get the parts. The repairs were done within a week. The dryer is 15 to 20 years old but has always worked well. It took a little time to get the parts. The dryer is back to working great. I found this service listed in the monthly Angie's List booklet.

Igor was prompt and professional.

The repairman was nice. Worked on the freezer drawer for quite a bit. He said that some of the ball bearings were missing. and couldn't finish that part, but would look into the price of parts to repair it. He said he would call us when he had the information. We never heard from anyone from Universal after that. I called two weeks later and left a message. No one replied to me call. As yet the freezer drawer is still not fixed and we can't afford to call in another repair service at this time. I do not recommend Universal for follow up service.

The technician was able to diagnose the problem quickly and had the necessary part to fix my LG washer and do the other small work I asked for. He also looked at my Thermador oven which would not seal properly and diagnosed the problem. He had to order a part and returned to replace it at another date. The work was not INEXPENSIVE, but it was diagnosed correctly and done quickly. I am happy with the finished results. I would use this company again.

The scheduling was easy and the repairman showed up as scheduled. He was able to figure out what was wrong and ordered the necessary parts. We previously had another repair service come to fix it and after spending much more than what Universal charged, the problem was not fixed. We are waiting the parts to come, but it seems like they know what they are talking about.

The first repair did not solve the problem but Igor returned performed an additional repair without a charge. I was very please with Igor he is professional, punctual and friendly. I would recommend him to anyone that needs stove repairs.

Everything was great. He was in and out in 15-30 mintues.

Igor was polite and professional... definitely knew his business and how to fix the problems. He didn't have all the parts with him but said he'd come back the next day and put it all together... and he didn't charge me weekend rates even though he came back on a Saturday to finish the job. He came back in the time frame he had scheduled, did the work, and the dryer runs like new now. Igor does good work!

Igor was great. I have had them come out before for a different client as well. He was very upfront about the repair and his recommendations. The cost was done with in the amount that he said. Both men were very nice and considerate about any mess that was made by removing the microwave from the wall. They cleaned up after themselves.

Universal Appliance Service came out and changed the hose. At first they said everything was fine but a few days later we couldn't get any water or ice out of our fridge. 5 days went by and I never heard back from him as he told me he would so I gave him a call and he said he was still working on it. He called back 3 days later and said it would be way more expensive and he wouldn't bother to come out. It was improperly diagnosed and therefore he gave me a wrong estimate and ended up not coming back out.

The quality of the work was great. My complaint is on the pricing. I feel like I got charged the "woman" price for this job. The labor -- for a job that took about 1 hour and 15 minutes -- was $150!!! Also, over the phone, prior to hiring Universal, I was promised a $20 Angie's List discount. After the job, I was looking over my bill to try to understand why it ended up being so high, and I noticed the lack of the Angie's List discount. I called Universal to ask what happened to that promised discount and they said they would send me a check to refund me for that $20. That was 3 weeks ago (and I called again about a week ago to ask AGAIN, where that discount check was and was told it was on the way).

I originally met with Igor in January to discuss repairing the door to our "vintage" Thermador electric oven, which wasn't closing properly because of worn out hinges. Also needing replacement was the glass window in the door and a heating element. Igor quoted a price of $500 or higher (I'm uncertain and there's the rub). Said price struck me as high, so I waited. I finally decided to bite the bullet and also have Igor rehab our ailing Thermador electric cooktop as well as the oven. Regarding the cooktop, he suggested a cost of around $500 to replace the heating elements and connectors and an on/off indicator light. I showed him some printouts of new cooktops that could be had for substantially less, and he agreed to work with me on that. Or so I thought. It all took some time, but parts needed to be obtained and, at some point, Igor took the oven door in order to have glass custom made for the broken window. We were without a door, looking at a gaping oven for a couple of weeks, but then again it is fair to say that custom work can take time. Igor is prompt and responsive when he has what he needs. Very much so. On the day of repair, Igor encountered unanticipated challenges, but overcame them and got the job done thoroughly and well. All seems to be working fine, though we have not yet used the oven. But having the door close properly is worth the price of admission. My one area of concern: price. Probably I am not the best at managing this part of things, but I would suggest that if you use Igor, and Igor can fix appliances well, write down clearly what is said so there is no misunderstanding. I was surprised that the final bill was as high as it was.

Went great! The repair was a great fix, didn't need to have them come back out to fix anything since the repair and tune up. They are really good at communicating with you through the process of repair even when they have to order special parts and it takes weeks. They were on it!

It was a 2 visit process. The above price was only for the second visit. However, they tried one solution on first visit, but needed a second visit after this did not work. This was the RIGHT way to go about the problem. Try and solve it one way first, and only replace important piece if this did not work. They were great, and with the two necessary calls, had a very nice dishwasher up and running again. Igor is great.

I called Universal Appliance Service early in the morning regarding a Kenmore Elite washer that stoped in mid cycle the night before. I spoke with Igor who told me he'd call me back in five minutes. He did. I explained the problem and he told me he'd have a service person to my house between 9-11. A serviceman named Mark called me at 9:15 and said he'd be at my house in 15 minutes. He arrived right on time, was polite and professional. He diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate which was VERY reasonable. He replaced a pump, cleaned up and was done within 45 minutes. I chose this provider based on the positive reviews and the A rating on Angie's List. I can tell you the good reviews are well deserved. I'll DEFINITELY use them again.

I had the best experience with this company. When I read an article on this company featured in the Angie's List magazine, I decided to call them based on two things: They were listed as the best and that they mentioned that they treat their clients as they would treat family. I really feel they lived up to both! The serviceman, Mark, was very attentive to my concerns, and even though he was following another incompetent repairman, he was able to correctly diagnose the actual problem and my washer is working like new! And, just like family, he also gave me some good tips to care for my machine and he was sensitive to my needs as to costs. Additionally, he did not charge me for things I didn't need, where some guys just might have done. And that was VERY appreciated. If you need your machine fixed, and done right the first time - use this company.

I have an older, 6-burner Dacor stovetop. Every now and then, water gets accidentally spilled underneath the knobs, and the valve switches have to be repaired or replaced. Igor arrived as scheduled + quickly diagnosed, and then fixed, the problem. It took him about an hour. All six burners are now fully functional. I would certainly consider hiring Igor and Universal Appliance Service again.

Wonderful service, prompt communication and on time house calls. Had to custom match stove top with existing burners no longer available by manufacturer. Did it. When one piece was unfinished, he took it right back, finished it and checked the oven for free while he were at it. NIce man, easy to have woking in home.

He arrived on time, looked at the fridge, and quickly found what the problem was. Unfortunately repair would require very expensive part, and after careful consideration it was agreed that it would make more sense to buy a new fridge, instead of trying to fix old one, as it would cost the same as buying new fridge.

They responded quickly. They were good at explaining what I needed and why I needed it.

When our 4 year old dishwasher wouldn't drain we assumed there was something caught in the drain or the chopper blade so we took apart the dishwasher ourselves. We didn't find any blockage so we called universal to come out based on their positive reviews here on Angie's List. When the serviceman arrived he seemed irritated that the dishwasher had been taken apart because he wouldn't be able to check anything or turn on the dishwasher. He took a look (literally a look) and concluded that the motor pump assembly was bad and would need to be replaced. He quoted us $420+tax, and charged us a $45 service fee. No tools were used, absolutely nothing was done. From door knock to exit was less than 10 minutes, not a tool used, not a button pushed. Dissatisfied with the service and suspicious of the quote, I called another repair service in the area. He asked me a couple questions about what happened when it stopped working and walked me through troubleshooting the issue over the phone, without having to put the dishwasher back together. And it's FIXED! I've come to have much higher expectations of companies with such high ratings and I can honestly say this is the first time I've felt totally ripped off by a vendor/contractor/company I've found on here.

We chose this company because of the excellent reviews and the "A" rating and we were Very disappointed. The repair person missed the first appointment because they had our address and my name (first & last) wrong. He did show up later that day and diagnosed the problem. He then said he's call us the next day with an estimate. 5 days later he still hadn't called. We called the company and they promised to call us back "in a few minutes" and they still haven't. We've set an appointment with a new company.

He really know what he was doing, he was working in a style that was uncommon, different from other technicians. The customer repair was reasonable. He is really good.

Igor was prompt within the time window and diagnosed the problems immediately. He provided an estimate (offering the Angie'slist discount and a senior discount without being asked) ordered parts and returned later in the week to conduct the repairs. Everything is now working fine. He also instructed me that my freezer is loaded wrong, causing the motor to have to work harder. He is professional, pleasant, honest and cleaned everything up when done. I will definitely call him for any future appliance repairs.
