One guy came out to do the work. Everything he has done has never been a problem again.

One guy came out to do the repair. They are very quick to respond and come out and they solved the problem.

No one called back to do the repair work. I called three times, each time I was told someone would call back.

Super. Igor and I had set a time of 8 am - 11 am. He arrived around 9:30, diagnosed the problem in five minutes (a malfunctioning igniter), and offered me a choice of two different igniters at two different prices, depending upon whether I used the "clean" function of the oven. I chose the more expensive igniter ($50 more) since I do use that function. He was done by 10 am - no mess, no fuss. Without my prompting, he noted that I was an Angie's List member and would therefore be given $20 off the total. This is the second time I have used this company and both times with excellent results. Igor is very knowledgeable, professional, down-to-earth, and wastes no time.

I've had good service with them. Their promptness and professionalism stood out to me. There was no negative.

he came over and saw that the power unit was too old to order a new part so he looked for a used replacement. This took a bit of time, but he finally found it, came back and did the work. Everything working fine now. He was very nice, easy to work with, professional. would use again

First visit led to a verbal shouting match with the tenant, so had to be rescheduled both have "strong" personalities). When I met for the follow-up, the diagnosis, with absolutely no tools or measurements was dusty coils. He reduced the price when I complained that there is no way a 3 minute wire brush cleaning should cost $180, but even then I had to go borrow a vacuum cleaner from a neighbor for him to do the work. When there were complaints a week later that the problem still was not fixed, he was prompt to return (again, no tools used to diagnose or even test the temp.) and says the problem is just a wrong setting on the selector between the fridge/ freezer. Called a second-opinion company when it was obvious there was still a problem, and they opened up the back panel (to actually clear out the crud that was pushed to the back by Igor's brush cleaning, since he never moved the unit) and determined the problem- overheating compressor, so money was essentially wasted with Universal. I called Igor back to let him know, as the one good thing I can say is that he was always reachable and timely with meeting times. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident, but not at all what I was expecting.

Don't pay attention to the listing - they do not service downtown, and they'll be pretty rude about it.

Great! after being blown off by 2 other "highly recommended" repairmen, Igor got me on his calendar right away - and then showed up on time, thankfully toward the early part of the arrival window. A relief after 3 weeks of doing dishes by hand. The repair took 30 minutes tops.

Promptly came over to diagnose the problem, obtained a new part and followed up quickly to do the repair.

They were professional and responsive.

This was an emergency call. Sergey arrived promptly after making the phone call and comprehensively fixed not only the issue with the latch but something else that was wrong with the washer. I am forever grateful.

Igor comes over, checks it out, gives me a quote, orders the part, comes back to replace the part. He is efficient and professional. With the dryer repair, in one case he had to send a worker out to do the job. I remember being impressed that the worker cleaned the inside of the dryer really well and when the part was replaced he was still not satisfied that the dryer was working correctly and safely, so he came back on another day but did not charge beyond the original quote. I find the cost of service from Universal to be not cheap but worth it for the assurance of quality and reliability.

He said he would arrive between 9 and 12 noon. He arrived about 11:30am. I told him the oven would not come on. He took a look at the oven and told me he had to go get the part to fix the oven and he would be back around 2pm. He arrived around that time and replaced the part. It took him only about15 minutes to replace the part. He was very polite and efficient. I will use his service again, and give him referrals.

It took a couple of trips to get it right.

Despite the fact the we purchased the Special Deal on Angie's List using our zip code for local providers, when I called "Universal" Service and told them what we needed and our address, he said rudely, "Too far." I told him I'd already purchased the deal and he said, "That's an old ad. Call Angie's List. We don't go that far anymore."

He was great and very helpful. It was an unusual request (removing and reinstalling a dishwasher and wall oven), and he was very cooperative; would definitely use him again in similar circumstance.

They had to order some parts. They could have been a little quicker in response especially when they came back the second time. They took a while to get back to me. Even when they got to me, then it was going to be days before they came again.

Communication was easy. Igor came on time He fixed the problem efficiently He diagnosed the issue on the phone and brought the correct parts He is a very nice person and very professional. I would use him again and highly recommend him

Called a day ahead and was able to make an appointment for the next day. He came at the scheduled time and did an excellent job. Very reasonable price. Would definitely use him again.

Despite all of the great reviews regarding responsiveness, I received no response from the company. Finally today I reached them by telephone and was told that I was too far away despite their service area including my area. When asked for a refund of the $75 pre-paid on Angie's List, I was told that I will need to speak with Angie's List about it. Very disappointing especially given the previous great reviews.

Igor came out and assed the situation and said that he'd call later w/ a price and a repair date. He called me later in the evening and did exactly as he said. His technician came out the following date and performed the repair.

I purchased a $75 deal for multiple appliances through Angie's List for Universal Appliance which included 1 hour 's labor. I called and was told the repairman would be out that day. When I didn't hear back from them, I called Angie's List to have them confer with their vendor. The company then called me back and said that they could be there in two days and gave me a time of arrival. The worker was on time. He diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. He then told me it would be $310 for labor and $15 for parts. He further stated the repairs would take about 40 minutes(25 for the dryer and 15 minutes for the dishwasher) which was within the hour's time given by the deal. I showed him the deal and he called his supervisor who told the repairman it would be $240. I then called the supervisor myself and he told me to "find somebody else". THIS IS A SCAM. If you decide to purchase a deal from this company GET THE DEAL CONFIRMED BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR TIME. I called Angie's List and reported the incident. They would contact Universal Appliance about my complaint. The next day Angie's list refunded the price of the deal to my credit card.

The service rep was very good. He did a good job. Angie's List took $75 before they sent out that individual. It was charged on a credit card. And then, they didn't give me the discount after the service. So I called back Angie's List and told them and then they told me, "Well, call up Universal and tell them to send you out a check." But, I thought that shouldn't be my job, that should be Angie's List's job. But then I went ahead and I called up Gary. He said, "Oh, okay. I'll send it out to you this week." I didn't get it by the next week. So, I called them again and he said, "Oh, I'll send it out in about three or four days." I said, "Okay." I never got it. So then I called Angie's List and I said, "I'm just stuck with this guy. He's not returning back the check." The person I talked to said, "Well, give them another week." It was two or three weeks already. So, I said, "Alright." So, over a week, I called up again. Gary said, "Okay, I'll send you out the check today." I finally got it.

When I called him and explained the condition of my Whirlpool dryer, he asked me to text him the model number so he could order the correct parts. He also stated not to use the dryer until it is repaired because the dryer could break down at any time. Within a short time, he called first ( approximately 30 minutes) and came over to tender the repair. Working in cramped quarters, he was able to correct the faulty dryer in record time. He cleaned up any debris and left the work location in good condition. I found Igor to be highly knowledgeable and experienced in his field. Moreover, he was punctual, reliable and professional at all times. In turn, his fee was very reasonable. Indeed, Igor saved us from having the unanticipated (and certainly not welcomed) added expense and inconvenience of replacing our dryer. I would highly recommend Igor without reservation.
