Description of Work: Check refrigerator. Did not use the service to fix it due to cost.

Description of Work: They (Mark) came on Dec. 29, 2014 to check our Samsung washing maching which had leaked. The disagnosis was a broken drain pump. Mark said he would order the part the next day. For a variety of reasons (some of which we do not know) the part did not arrive until Jan. 7, 2015. During this waiting period we had to call Igor several times to get a status on the part. Igor never called us back only once during this time. Mark was fine as a repairman and seemed knowledgeable about our machine and the part. The repair was done in a short time on Jan. 8, 2015. Our big complaint was the lack of communication regarding the delay in getting the part. We had to do all of the calling to get information and did not receive much response. And when we did get a call the information was very indeterminant about where the part was. I would be hesitant to use this company again. It would depend on the situation.

Description of Work: They were wonderful. This is the right company that I used not the one for appliances repair that I gave a review. That review was meant for this company. Universal Appl. I got confused.

Description of Work: Igor is great...I would highly recommend him...he is trustworthy, extremely professional, and a nice guy...I have used him numerous times... one time he actually came over and helped me with a problem and did not charge me anything...wow!!!

Description of Work: They came out to give me a quote for the work needed, took a deposit, and will be contacting me again to schedule when they will come out to complete the work.

Description of Work: I called the owner to come service my dryer. When I explained the problem, he told me that the problem was probaly with my dryer vent. He said he could come out or I could save the cost of a service call and try to have the dryer vent cleaned first. He suggested another company, as his company did not provide vent cleaning service. I really appreciated his honesty. I will definately call him the next time I need my appliances serviced.

Description of Work: Igor was first rate all the way around. We got home from a trip on Sunday and found that angry cats had left us a "gift" on two bathroom throw rugs. I foolishly threw them in our 4 years young high efficiency washer and an hour later came down to find it broken. I was certain I had destroyed it, as it did little more than hiss when I tried to restart it. I called Universal Appliance because of its strong reviews and got Igor right away (even though it was a holiday weekend Sunday). He listened to my description and said that he could come the next day. I teach school, and so could not be home until 4. He said he would meet me then. He arrived punctually and within an hour and change later he had restored the washing machine completely. He offered a fair price and, even more impressively, explained in layman's terms what had transpired (clogged filter). Then he went the extra mile by telling me that in about 10 washings, when the rest of the lint had washed through, it might clog up one more time. If it did so, he would come out and repair it for no additional cost. Now that is what I call service!

Description of Work: Igor came out to the house with another gentleman and within approximately and hour or so, told me the problem with the dishwasher and he explained that we had been using a brush with soap in it to clean the dishes and that the soap had run into the dishwasher, clogging it, allowing the water to leak all over the floor. He was professional, honest and unbelievably charged only $55 for the trip and 2 men for at least an hour. He ran the dishwasher after cleaning it all and the problem is solved. The previous day, I had called another appliance company and the man came out and fooled around for about 30 minutes and said that the dishwasher could not be fixed--I would have to buy a new washer. The charge was unbelievable for rendering that decision. I joined Angie's List after he had left and read reviews for servicing appliances and fortunately came across Universal Appliance. I cannot say enough positive things about these 2 gentlemen. They were also right on time and totally professional and courteous. A gem!!!!! Look no further than Universal.

Description of Work: My dryer drum stopped turning on Friday afternoon at around 5:40pm. I unplugged it and then took the bottom apart looking for the problem. Seemed to me that the belt which turns the drum was dry and old and had slipped a bit from its place; I tried to put it back. Still didn't work so got onto Angie's List. Called Igor @ Universal after checking out some others. While speaking to him the darn dryer started working again! He thought that he should come by anyhoo and take a look so we made an appt. for Sat. @ 4pm. He showed up right on time, can't tell you how appreciative I am for that. Many workers are way late and make excuses. So Igor came in and checked out the dryer. Took him all of five minutes and he just said, "Keep using it." Told me that what caused my prior issue would be one of two things, unfortunately one of which was the motor. So we'll see. So then he left. When I asked him how much I owed him he said, "Nothing.......oh yeah, a smile." How great is that folks? I would certainly recommend his company to everyone. By the way, when he got here at 4pm (because I work on Sat. and that was the earliest I could be home) I asked him if this was his last appointment and he said, "My last appointment was at 1." So this guy had waited around the area for three hours! Dedication. The only issue that I have is that he didn't look at the belt. I really wish that he would have, even to tell me that I'm nuts. But , although I can't give a rating on "work done" I CAN say that I was very pleased with the house call.

Description of Work: My Miele dishwasher would not turn on..Igor ( repairman) cleaned it out completely, explaining to me in detail what was wrong, and what I should do in the future to keep it running efficiently..it is still running perfectly..
