Description of Work: Dowd is very good at their specialty. They arrived on time as they had scheduled to inspect the condition of my roof. Once they described the work needed, they made arrangements and gave me a timeline to complete the work. They came on time as agreed and performed the work with great professionalism and workmanship. They even accommodated a late add to the scope I asked for. I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice to use them!

Description of Work: Confusion as to reason for visit and then implied numerous times I contracted for follow-up roof work when all I requested was a review of condition of my roof and estimate to reroof if needed. I was frustrated.

Description of Work: Removed approx. 1300 sq ft of concrete tiles, laid SBS Flinlastic self adhering base sheet, reinstalled concrete tiles. Also replaced approx. 20 broken concrete tiles in other places on the roof. They also discovered that my solar tube was broken and replaced it. | |Gary Dowd came to the house and performed the inspection and provided his recommendation of the work needed and why we were having issues with roof leaks. All work was completed over a 4 1/2 day period. Everyone showed up on-time each day and were very professional. We had one follow-up call for a small leak that had been missed but Gary came out himself promptly and made the repair. I am very happy with the work and would definitely call them again.

Description of Work: Gary Dowd (the owner)initially took my wife and I on a 30 minute tour to view the many roofs he had replaced within the last year in our area to see exactly what a particular color shingle would look like on an actual roof. WORK DONE- A complete two layer composition roof tear off and haul away, over 300 square feet of dry rot wood repair and 60 feet of facia board (all primed for paint),25 year dimensional shingles (16 squares) installed, replaced an 800 square foot flat patio roof as well, new drip edges, new vent stacks, two powered attic vent fans. The roof had to be done in two phases, as I was having a complete house repipe and new insulation. Gary worked well with my other installers/craftsmen. Absolutely NO problems! If Gary Dowd says they will start and finish on a particular date, it's done! Top notch outfit!

Description of Work: Dowd Roofing removed two old roof coverings from our 3000 square foot roof in less than one day. Complete installation of the new roof was stalled two days due to rain. However, the contractor kept us dry and informed and within budget at all times. The work site was left clean every night. Workers were polite and happy to answer questions. The owner always responded within minutes to telephone calls. There were no problems, no add ons, nothing missing and the roof looks great.

+ -1 moreWe were re-locating and we needed to get a few things done on the house to sell it. We had 1, (One) tile on the roof that needed to be moved back into place, or replaced. I called Dowd, because they were local. The owner came out, looked at the roof and told me he would have someone come and move it back into place for FREE! I was shocked and surprised that he would do that. I offered him a trip charge and he refused. I came back later the next day to find the the tile replaced and back to normal! Now that is true service, especially in the age of rip-offs! If you need an estimate, definitely call Dowd, a least you know that you are dealing with an honest company
