GK General Construction

After interviewing 4 different licensed general contractors in Glendale, my wife and I chose to go with GK General Construction. Our house needed significant renovations on the exterior. Gary's professionalism immediately stood out from the beginning. He did not simply eye-ball or guess when it came to providing specific quotes as he did a walk-through. He measured everything, explained the entire process, and was patient with my questions. He was on time to all of our appointments with third-party vendors for materials. Prior to actually engaging his services, he provided a detailed outline of the work to be completed, the cost of labor, the cost of materials, and the best part, the date of completion. Having been through several construction projects before, I expected there to be unknowns or unexpected surprises. Astonishingly, Gary still met our deadlines, and we didn't experience the stress we had before with other contractors.

When our previous contractor suddenly left our remodeling project with lots of half-done, not-done and incorrectly-done jobs, we thought that this project could never be finished! Then we found Gary online? We called him and he immediately came the next day to see our house. He gave us a fair price and wanted ?3 weeks? to finish the project which was hard to believe, given 2 months worth of time that our previous contractor had spent and how less jobs had been done (or even half-done!). He was ready to start the job in a few days! The project included remodeling of our kitchen and two bathrooms, plus painting the entire house and lots of major and minor issues to take care of.
When Gary and his crew started their job on the first day, inside the house and the backyard were a real mess, left by our previous contractor. They cleaned up everywhere before doing anything else and maintained the same organized situation till the last day. Tidiness, being on time, having professional crew for each type of job and paying attention to details are just a few of many good points Gary?s team has.
Not only Gary could successfully meet his estimated deadline, but also he managed to put a roof for our patio and replace two external doors, in the same time frame, which were not in our initial contract and he did them as bonus which we truly appreciate. It was on the last day when I noticed a 5 inch hole on our external stucco wall at a corner not easily visible. I asked him if he could fix that for me, he kindly accepted and promised to return back in a few days to fix it. One day I noticed that he and his crew were working outside and it was after I?d paid him fully for our contract. He covered that hole and didn?t charge me a penny. I?ve truly seen less professionals doing at his level.
We are very pleased with Gary's job and we would definitely recommend him. We're looking to have him on our future projects.

We recently completed a room addition and partial remodel, including the construction of a master bathroom and a large deck with pergola.  After meeting with several contractors, we decided to hire GK Construction for the job.  Gary was extremely professional, his quote was very reasonable, and he even helped us find an architect at a great rate to help with zoning, planning and permits.  
Gary and his crew completed each phase of the construction on time and on budget.  Unlike many contractors, Gary often works alongside his crew to complete needed work.  All of his crew were professional, courteous and did excellent work.   The few times that things went wrong (like when one of the tiles in our new shower developed a hairline crack a few days after installation), Gary and his crew fixed the issues immediately.  
Even after the main construction was complete, Gary went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed properly.  The doors on one of the new closets, for example, were custom ordered and didn't arrive until months after the main construction was finished.  Once the doors arrived, we called Gary, and he came in and installed them himself and even helped patch and paint some drywall in another part of our house (that wasn't related to the original construction), all at no additional charge. 
Gary / GK Construction is a rare breed:  a great craftsman who works at a reasonable price.

I contacted Gary after reading great reviews about his services. My wife and I recently purchased a townhouse and wanted to completely remodel/reconfigure the kitchen. The former kitchen layout was closed off and had a lowered ceiling that was not flush with the rest of the main floor. It took a lot of work, but Gary was able to give us what we asked for. Gary also helped us with adding recessed lighting throughout the main floor, painting the entire house, and replacing the bathroom fans.
His prices and attitude were great, and I would definitely work with him again.

We're very happy with the final product. 
We first contacted Gary some time ago for an estimate. He came with his architect and they did a quick assessment and a few days later gave us the estimate which fell right into our budget. A few days after that he called to set an appointment to go and pull the permits and this is when I found out that the architect would be $1,500 and the quote didn't include tile nor fixtures nor lighting.  I now know this is standard throughout the industry, but as a first time customer I was kind of taken aback. I mention this so that contractors might think to mention these costs to future customers.
The job itself went quite well. It was fast and the quality was wonderful. The electrician was in and out, the plumber was very nice and helpful with my questions. When we realized we'd need a tankless water heater he preordered it for us. Before picking it up I did some research and found he got us the best one for the price and at a good discount.
I did have a small issue with the drywaller / painter. Where as the contractor, electrician and plumber cleaned up after themselves daily, the drywaller left a mess. We found cans and bottles in our potted plants, our bath mat was caked in drywall plaster and our patio was a mess. Gary, however, came one day just before quitting time and asked about the mess. The drywaller said it would be cleaned the next day when the job was done, but Gary said "no, clean each day.".
For our vanity, we found a wonderful repurposed wood dresser and vessel sink and Gary worked with the plumber to convert it into a beautiful one-of-a-kind vanity.
The renovation was done quickly, on budget, and the quality seems stupendous. I would recommend GK General Construction to my friends and family.

Gary was highly referred to us by a good friend so we called him out to get a estimate for the addition which we wanted done. Gary was on time and very thorough from the beginning. Checking in the attic, basement, studding the plans, etc. His price was fair and after getting 3 other estimates decided to go with him, lets just say I am glad I did. They started the job and worked every day, no breaks from our job to go to someone elses house, etc. We felt like we were priority for Gary. He always picked up our calls and answered all our questions. 
The best part is they finished before schedule!!! how awesome is that! 
All in all we were very pleased with GK Construction and will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

GK contsruction was very professional and timely. We've had so many experiences with other contractors who take forever to complete a job but Gary does what he says. He's got competitive pricing, has a great team and is very knowledgeable.  Both our bathrooms look great with new tiles, shower, bath. Kitchen is now upgraded with new and modern cabinets, new tiles and backsplash. I absolutely love it.They're very nice and pleasant to work with. We will definitly call them back if needed and i highly recommend GK Construction to others.

I was extremely happy with the service and the quality of work performed by Karen. He was very knowledgable and efficient. He took the time to answer all my questions and address all of my concerns. He was very forthcoming with informatio, offered great advice on how to manage our budget properly and get the most out of it. Karen and his crew were very punctual, professional and accommodating. Unlike most other contractors, I did not at any time have to chase after him or wonder if they were going to show up that day. The city inspector was initially very stand-offish and cold on his first visit but by the end of the project Karen had managed to win him over with the quality of his work and attention to detail. He completed the job on time, on budget and even managed to correct some mistakes made by the previous contractors. He completely shattered the negative image contractors have and proved to me and my family that there still are true professionals out there.

Had a great experience with GK  General Construction. I wish I could  to keep it short but  there is a lot of great  things to say  about them.
 First of all- professionalism ! They have been in a field  for many years. Greatest professional skills. 
 Second-   it's a  cost of service. We are very satisfied ! 
 Third- they completed it in a time frame they promised , even a few days ahead. They made a project quickly and efficiently.
