Terrible. I am having a hard time understanding why they have such high quality reviews based on my experience. I made an appointment for an estimate using their virtual process. The estimator gave me a ridiculously high estimate for my project. He quoted a price of $42K, when the average estimate that I am receiving is $13k - $15K, with the highest being $25K. I challenged the estimator on how he could justify charging $20K - $30K more that their competitors for a simple block wall and he couldn't justify it. He also didn't know whether I needed a permit for the wall in the city of Los Angeles, which is odd, given that they do business in Los Angeles, and purport to specialize in masonry work. As we discussed it, he wanted to know what neighborhood in Los Angeles that I lived in - which was nonsensical. The permitting requirements are the same throughout the city of Los Angeles, and it seems that a professional should know that. I gave feedback to the scheduler that the conversation was a waste of time, and she arranged for me to speak with a person who was alleged to be an HR person of some sort so that they could get my feedback. She requested that I set a phone appointment with that person, which I did, really as a favor to them, because there was no real benefit to me in having this conversation. But that person was just as unprofessional (maybe even more so) than the estimator. Our phone appointment was at noon. She called me at 1:10pm, an hour and 10 minutes after our scheduled time. She started the conversation by saying that she was sorry that she didn't keep the appointment and without pause went into a rapid fire monolog in which she was trying to defend the estimator, with poor, nonsensical arguments. She didn't bother to ask me whether I was busy, she just started talking non-stop. I just listened in shock and then she finally stopped talking after about a 5 minute monologue. When I tried to respond, she interrupted me and started her rapid fire talking again. It was just too much and I just had to tell her to stop talking. I asked her whether or not she had any contracting, estimating or building expertise and she admitted that she didn't have any, that she was a customer service person, yet she was trying to defend the ridiculous position that the estimator had taken with me. I told her how unprofessional it was to: (1) Not keep a scheduled appointment; (2) Not inquire as to whether I had time to speak with her when she called; (3) Try to defend the project pricing and lack of permitting knowledge when she had no subject matter expertise. She started whining and saying that she was a human being, not a robot. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean but I didn't need to hear it. All I know is that I wanted a straightforward, honest, professional estimate to rebuild a block wall, and instead I ended up embroiled in a morass of unprofessionalism.

We worked with DiBara a year or two ago doing a lot of patio and driveway demo and removal work here at our house, and then installing new pads for the driveway. We were very pleased with the work and the experience. The communications with the company and crew about scheduling and planning were excellent. The guys working here at our home were friendly, helpful, and ready to make adjustments on the fly. The work turned out beautifully and we would definitely recommend them.

I was looking for someone that could do some masonry cleaning and repair some previous poorly matched grout repairs by removing and tuck pointing with new grout to match. They originally seemed eager to do the repairs. The sent me a "questionnaire", I guess to determine if the prospective customer is willing to pay top dollar. They indicated they have a $2,500 minimum charge and I said that the scope of work I need would meet that threshold but I did not see it costing much more than that. After they received my reply they called to tell me they are not interested in the job because it isn't big enough for them. So I guess their minimum is just in case you cancel the job once they start, regardless of how much work they performed. So unless you have a large project and are willing to pay for a project supervisor, project foremen and a crew of masons and pay well over $2,500 they are not interested. They wouldn't even provide a recommendation of someone else to do a smaller job.

These guys were great very professional, right from the beginning when they came to my house and gave me a quote all the way through to the completed job, every member of their team was courteous to myself and my family. They told me the job would take two days and it did, Im so happy right now with the work I highly recommend them for any masonry work you need. The girls at the office are very helpful and are able answer all your questions. Great job thanks

I cannot say enough good things about Matt DiBara and his team. The project was relatively small, but bid fairly; DiBara took care to procure exactly the veneer we wanted; DiBara’s masons showed up on time, worked carefully and cleanly, and created an even more artistic outcome than we even hoped for; and completed the project on time. A++++

My onsite manager and I had a good vibe from Matt right away. He was prompt, professional and courteous. Sometimes men working with women in construction are a bit brusque or fatherly but Matt was great. He was helpful in pointing out some other issues we were having that had nothing to do with masonry. We got several bids and DiBara's was the best, but we would have hired him even if a bit higher based on the sense of honesty we got from him. We had some insurance issues we needed to straighten out asap and Matt and Ryan managed to get a crew out to us within a week. The work required a lift, and once on the job and close to the damage they found much more extensive damage. Matt was quick to call me with an update and discuss the options. Somehow Matt and the supervisor Flip, got all the work done the same day ahead of a deadline we had to meet. The work looks solid. Unfortunately the crumbling stucco took part of a mural with it, but Matt says he even has people to fix that, so we may have them back soon to get us completely whole again. While i hope we never have another emergency like this, if i did, DiBara would be my first and only call.

Our previous experience with a contractor (a kitchen remodel) was so terrible that we were expecting the worst when we hired DiBara, just because we are newbies at this remodel thing. My wife has been through child-birth that was more pleasant than what we experienced with that contractor. Our experience with DiBara couldn't have been different if we'd scripted it. The whole company embarked upon our job with great enthusiasm, kept in constant touch with us regarding what was or wasn't going to be done at any particular time, made us feel that there was nobody they'd rather be working with, provided us with a crew of professionals that remained constant throughout the whole project so that we came to know each person individually, they did what they said they'd do when they said they'd do it, were unfailingly polite and conscientious...I could go on and on. We have NOTHING negative to say about these terrific people; they did beautiful work on our new porch and walkways, made suggestions that were always better than what we'd envisioned...working with DiBara was extremely rewarding, and we've already asked them back to do masonry repair and to work on our chimney. We would NEVER consider anyone else to help us with our home!

These guys are great. The finished product looks amazing and prospective tenants keep marveling about the fireplace renovation. When they were working here, they kept the place clean and cleaned up after themselves. The tenants who live here had no complaints about the work in progress throughout the home.

Matthew was so helpful in upgrading our exterior features and adding a fire pit to our backyard. They were very professional and courteous, and the tenants barely noticed that they were there. The job went as well as it possibly could have and everything looks great. I'll definitely use them again in the future with my other rental properties and couldn't recommend them more to my friends and clients.

DiBara Masonry is the best! We hesitated to hire anyone to fix our chimney because it was a big job and nobody seemed right for the job and couldn't find anyone we trusted, so we put it off for a few years until finally during the big storm in early 2017 water started coming through all the bricks and crown. We began searching but nobody seemed right for the job. That is until we found DiBara! From the very beginning, our experience was excellent. Matt was very professional and sent out John to provide an estimate right away and accommodated my schedule. John arrived right on time and was very knowledgeable and provided an estimate in a few days. In fact most people said that they did not make the brick that we had anymore but DiBara said it was not a problem to get that brick. He even knew the dims of the brick before he measured it and said they still make them. I was also able to choose a cap size that I had requested to cover most of the crown, they sent pictures of a few to choose from. We decided to move forward and they came again right on time with a team of 3 professionals ready to work. They kept the area clean and protected which was very important to us since we had a new roof done. Our chimney was in very bad shape and as we kinda suspected, began to crumble and fall apart as they started to remove the old mortar to repoint because the mortar was just too porous, old and brittle and many of the bricks were already cracked. They rebuilt the chimney, which was not originally part of the plan but they called Matt and they gave us a very reasonable cost to fix it from the roof line up. We were a bit worried about the cost at this point but they were very fair and reasonable. They even brought more than enough bricks just in case, but were able to salvage pretty much most of the bricks in order to keep the older look to match the lower part of the chimney below the roofline. They finished the job in one day but it was a long, hot day over 80+ degrees but they pushed through from 8AM till 6PM, only stopping for lunch and for 15 mins just prior to final clean up. They only needed to come back once more after the mortar had finished drying, about 3 days to put some waterproofing on that we had requested. It ended up raining in those 3 days so we had to wait a little longer but to my surprise, I actually did not have to chase them to find out when they would come back next. Matt actually emailed me right away once the weather was cleared up and the chimney had time to dry to schedule the waterproofing. Most workers you have to chase up to find out when they can come, so that was a nice touch! We could not believe how wonderful of a job they did. It was a huge weight lifted off our shoulders. We were so nervous but in the end it came out WAY better than we could have imagined!!

Matt's crew showed up at the exact time they said they would. They did the work quickly and the facade now looks quite secure. They left the job site in better shape than they found it. Everything was backfilled impeccably. And now I can sleep a little better know that our brick facade shouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Matt and Alex DiBara are a great team with excellent staff around them. They started the job at the beginning of a June heat wave that had temperatures near 110 the entire week they were here. They were prompt, polite, and efficient. They finished in 4 and 1/2 days and cleaned up all the mess. They were not the cheapest. That person was not nearly as knowledgeable. They were not the most expensive. Those bids were from contractors who I am certain were going to make a lot of money using sub-contractors to complete the work. I appreciated that Alex and Matt were hands on with the bidding, time estimate, and the completion of the work. I would hire them again easily if I needed masonry work.

Matt was responsive and communicative throughout our project. He laid out my alternatives very clearly, with different prices for the various options. Whenever I had a question, he responded promptly and explained things clearly and thoroughly. Matt picked up the old bricks, cleaned them, then laid a new foundation and relaid the bricks. The patio looks wonderful -- better than new. Superb workmanship and excellent reliability. The work was started and finished on the dates specified, and the site was left in excellent condition. I would definitely use DiBara Masonry again and would not hesitate to recommend them.
