As a company with an A Rating, we strive, to provide quality work and customer service, day in and day out. Our overall positive ratings are a testament to this commitment. Unfortunately the account here does not accurately reflect our records and what occurred. Caledonian Mechanical was contracted through a home warranty company to diagnose an issue reported by this homeowner. The issue initially reported was that the "unit was blowing air, but not cooling". The initial diagnosis revealed the condenser fan motor to be non-operational due to a bad capacitor. The capacitor was replaced with a new one. The condenser fan was also changed. This fixed the reported problem. This homeowner experiences a lack of air flow to some rooms. We assessed the primary issue is due to dirty air filters that were compacted with what seemed to be years of dirt. There was little to no air circulating as a result. This lack of maintenance is not covered by warranty. We offered to change the filters at a private cost. That was refused. We suggested additional balancing dampers be installed to help increase the flow. Despite the homeowner’s insistence, this was confirmed to be an uncovered cost by the warranty. Our technicians have assessed that the unit fully functional. We have confirmed more than once that the additional service being demanded is not covered. This ticket is considered closed on our end. *CALEDONIAN MECHANICAL- FRIENDLY TIPS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS: We strongly recommend all of our customers maintain clean air filters to ensure proper air flow into the home. We recommend changing filters at least 2 X annually to avoid reduced air flow and additional damage to your unit. We also understand that many of our customers find us through their warranty company. We recommend our customers maintain a proactive dialogue with their provider any time there's a repair request made to ensure a clear understanding as to what is covered under your specific policy as each policy is different.Service Provider Response
