CABINETRY BY DESIGN

Cabinetry by Design / Douglas Gabriel, did not perform any work for the money he took.  Non at all.  Took 28,800.00 dollars and vanished.

Cabinetry-by-Design gave us a competitive bid on a fairly comprehensive job. They seemed rather qualified and were helpful with on-the-spot design. After the down-payment things went downhill. The job was actually started 2 months later. After demolition of our entire kitchen, we were essentially left in a construction zone for half a year without appliances or even basic kitchen functionality. CBD did not respond to most phone or email messages. In the end, they tried to rush the job and cut some corners. When they are actually there, they are very friendly. The cabinets look great - but I would most definitively NOT recommend CBD to anyone

I would not recommend Cabinetry by Design to anyone for anything. They are very nice and pleasant. You assume because they are very nice and because they are always smiling and pleasant to you that they are going to do what they say they'll do. That is a bad assumption. They don't return phone calls, they don't come when they say. They disappear for weeks at a time. It has been a nightmare. I couldn't sleep. I was without running water in my kitchen for about two months. They took out the kitchen cabinets and appliances on the 30th of June and they are just finishing up the trim work today - four months later. The estimate on the contract I signed was for four weeks. They took out everything in the kitchen, so that all I had were walls and a floor. The cabinet that they built for the oven was built incorrectly. They didn't look at the diagram on the manufacturer's website. It was another month before they came back with the new cabinet. The job was pretty straight forward and I just made a big mistake when I chose these people.
