Three months ago, I had another contractor come into my home to give me an estimate to remove cabinets in my kitchen to make way for my new refrigerator, then add a plumb-line for a ice maker, also replace the kitchen/master bath with with pergo flooring, and put in new toilet, vanity in master bath. Their bid. $2000.00. The only reason I didn't have work done was due to death in family of serious illness. Left us incapable of having any work done until just recently. Yet still not ready for all the construction, but hopefully soon would be.

This is the only reason I contacted Coast in first place. I thought I had used them before. I was mistaken. The company name is close, but it was not this Coast. I only became aware of this after this Coast sent their plumber. I honestly thought it is just replacing a faucet, and maybe a new garbage disposal. I could get this done...but not for $800.00!

When I called Coast, and explained I was sticker shocked at their estimate. I also explained that a year ago, I had to have my water heater replaced. The plumber came out, replaced my water heater, blanket, pan, and all piping with "COPPER"...did a beautiful job, even retro fitting for earthquakes, and the job cost us $800.00. (If I could find a copy of the work order, I would of called that company again. Unfortunately, I couldn't.) How could they justify $800.00 for a kitchen sink faucet, a garbage disposal, and some piping? Not even close to the work that was done on my water heater. That when
he replied..."So, you want to cancel the appointment?" Again, no response, nothing...just an OK, BYE, BYE!

UPDATE! 12-04-15 I just found the work order for my water heater. My intuition was correct. I had used Coast Plumbing before, in 2013, crazy thing is, they billed under West Coast Plumbing, for $986.00. This is the plumber who I had stated was amazing, and how I wish I could find him. Turns out, Coast Plumbing, & West Coast Plumbing are one in the same. Same address, same phone number. None of this makes sense. I wish I remembered the name of the plumber. Is the company now run by different plumbers? I would like to find out the answers, and maybe resolve the issue. I would happily open my home to their plumber that was here in 2013. Due to this discovery, I want to give Coast a chance to speak with us, and see if it was just all a misunderstanding. Thus I changed my ratings until I have a chance for a resolution, one way or other. Fair enough? I've tried calling and left a message with a "Kim" to have owner call me. We also tried calling the number they asked us to call, but it kept having a fax ring, or that they were "Unable to answer the phone" message. So we have been unable to actually speak to the company regarding everything. We are open to seek a resolve. We just are having a hard time having contact with someone in supervisor capacity to speak to.

UPDATE! 12-09-2015 I'm very disappointed in this company. Today, I had to bring in another plumbing company because even though I gave Coast a chance to contact me, they didn't. I called several times since they had been here to try and resolve the problem. They wouldn't even return our calls. Turns out that did us a favor.

Today I called another plumbing company on Angie's List. They were able to come out within a few hours, on time. When they arrived, they went right to work, and completed the job in 35 minutes. They stated we DID NOT need new pipes, plumbing fixtures. That everything was up to date. The cost, 1/3 of what Coast had quoted. Beware. This company tried to get me to believe I needed work done, that wasn't needed. They tried to charge me 3 times what this new company today charged me. In my opinion, that is untrustworthy, taking advantage of customers, a shame to a profession where a company like Coast gives all of us customers anxiety on whether or not we are getting an honest job well done. Please think twice before using this company!

Chris the service man was on time and very professional, he cleaned the kitchen floor around the sink when finished.  He was very nice, efficient and did a great job.  Thank you !!

Spoke with customer rep Saturday around 2pm, he advised that a tech would call me btwn 5-9pm.... right at 5, spoke with the tech who adv he would be here in 20min. Travis arrived right on time, very nice, very professional, he checked out the problem & informed me there would be no problem.... he worked on it for quite some time (approx 2 hrs), the house i live has the oldest pipes in the world... you fix one thing and another thing breaks... which was the case here.....Travis finished and had repaired all that was needed to get the water back on. I was in the middle of putting in a new faucet when all the pipes went bad... he even finished putting in my new faucet & adjusted it to work right...

They ordered the parts. Two men came in to fix my sink. They told me to give them a call when the parts came in so that they could come and fix it. There was a man there for two hours trying to fix it. He came out and told me that the faucet was to big for my sink. He said we would have to order another part. He left about a half hour later I went to turn my sink on, and it began to leak under my sink. I called the company and told them I need someone to come and fix the sink, because I needed to use it. They sent a plumber out and he did a good job. I paid the first bill because they did fix my sink. I then later got a second a bill a couple of days later addressed to my daughter whom does not live in this house.I called the company to change my name. I then got another bill that was addresses to my daughter again but it was marked as paid. I called them again to changed the information from my daughter's name to mine. The ratings depend on what plumber you get. I would only use this company again if I got the Danny the last plumber that was here.

Excellent job!  They saved us a lot of money! Very professional and definitely recommend this company!

Coast Plumbing is my goto plumbing company. They are available 24/7 for emergency services. I have used their emergency hours as well as regular hour services. Each instance the service was excellent.
In this case, Chris checked all piping for leakages and narrowed down the issue to faucet. The pull out of the faucet was leaking and sending water back down under the sink. The pullout joint was tightened which stopped the leakage. I believe since this did not take long for Chris to identify and fix the issue there was no charge. Overall a really nice gesture. As for the water sippage, its stopped. Thank You, Coast Plumbing.

We noticed a warm area of the floor at the area of the leak.  We called Coast Plumbing after reviewing all the reviews from them plumbing companies on Angie's list. They said they would come out to check but there was a $200 charge for leak detection and if services were provided then it would be included in the total charge (or to be waived off in a sense). Mr. Vince Hamada came out to my house and was very thorough in checking to make sure which pipe that was leaking. He spent about 1.5 hr to check the problem.  Since we had call another plumbing company earlier to check on the problem. This company was referred by a my mother's neighbor but they could only come later that day, so we decided to wait for them for the another quote and paid the leak detection fee for Coast Plumbing. The other plumber that came out was not any near thorough as Mr. Hamada and their quote was about $400 higher. So, we decided to go with Coast.  Mr. Vince Hamada was nice enough to come to our house on his day-off  and holiday (Mother's Day) to fix the problem.  He was very hard working, experienced, meticulous and above all seemed to love what he was doing. He was very careful in cutting hole on the wall to get to the pipe. Even though he did not patch these holes but it was easy to patch them yourself because the holes were small and precisely cut.
There was minor problem that came up after the work was done. There was a leak at the main shut-off valves outside the house. I called the company. They sent somebody out to check since Mr. Hamada was not available. That technician noted that it wasn't the leak at the welded joints but actually was below it.  But, after listening to my account of what happened that caused that leak (of the PVC pipes of the lawn's sprinkler system), he understood and said that he would talk to his manager and had Mr. Hamada come back to check. Two days later, Mr. Hamada came and fixed the leak without making any excuses.  We appreciated that this company stood by the quality of their services and were willing to fix any problems that related to their work. Their price were reasonable or might be a little higher compared to that of other plumbers but that was just to cover any complication that could arise such as in this case even though the technician was very careful.  There's only one thing that I wished that they could do to improve the customer's experience was that they should take into account the totality of the work and not charging small things like additional parts like joints or connectors if these parts did not add up to a significant amount.

Friendly technician the work quality seemed good but the price was ridiculous. The price included cheap model shower head and 1 hr of labor for 595.00( the parts could not have cost more then 100. Total.) when I asked for Angie's discount, they said it was included in price already even though I didn't recall telling them I was a member. So if you don't mind paying 500. Per hour go for it. I should say this was not after hours call it was scheduled appointment.

The services were great.  The price was very high but the work was very good.  It was an excellent work.  If someone is struggling you might not recommend them because the prices could be double with what a guy working alone will do.  It’s a big company and were stuck with it but they were polite and everything went good but if you compare the price, it could be 25% - 50%.  We were kind of stuck with them because we started with them.  But when it comes to plumbing you have to have the best.  So price will be a question mark but the rest of it was good.  If the person can afford it, they are the people to get.

My kitchen sink was backed up pretty bad.  I turned on the garbage disposal to clear it & made it worse as debris spewed forth from the stink water and covered everything within 2 feet of the sink.  I called Coastal and they came out a couple hours later, super fast service.  Ran a snake thru drains and was out in 30 minutes, saved my day!

From there I contacted my insurance and they stated "don't do anything before we come out". Person from my insurance came out and looked at finding of pool of water by tub. He then pulled out his meter that shows whether there is a mold problem which might have occurred due to this moisture...there wasn't :-)

He asked if they wanted a plumbing contractor they work with to come out and access and figure out where the leak was actually coming from, I said yes!

A plumber came out and asked that I fill my kitchen sink with water and an adjoining bathroom with a shower with water.

We did this, and when I let the water drain from both places, he saw that the pool of water actual rose. This plumber determined where the leak was actually coming from, which was totally not in the area where Coast Plumber said I had to pull that bath tub.

Experience counts...glad I did not go through with Coast Plumbing advice.

The repairs were made, but at a price higher than I was quoted over the phone,  My wife overpaid the worker after the job was done as a tip, she was unaware of the increase above the original quote, after talking with the worker he promised me that he would have the over payment refunded to me by the office.  I have since received a thank you note from the company, but no refund check.  It's not so much the money lost but the integrity of a company means so little to them.  If

They were very prompt and professional. They cleaned up after the project was completed, and you could not tell they had been here working.

The office was very responsive when I called in on a holiday for service the following morning. I was called as promised the following a.m. with a 4 hour window. I was called and told that Tim was on his way. The plumber, Tim, arrived and was both professional and cheerful and took care of the plumbing problem presented. His work and attitude were excellent and would definitely use both Coast Plumbing, Heating & Air Inc again and would request Tim if available. Thanks Coast.

Jerry called before coming and actually arrived early.  He was meticulous and quickly located the problem and went to work fixing the leak.  He checked the other water lines upstairs to see if maybe the problem originated there.  We have used Coast many times for water heater, etc., and have no complaints.  Highly recommend the company.
